Cool that someone actually did this, although as you said results can be skewed on purpose or accidentally. We all know THC is affected by how mature the trichomes are, leaving the plant for longer means more time for the trichomes to mature. I also wonder how much THC would differ between different buds from the same plant where it was all harvested at the same time? To do a test like this and do it accurately would be a bit tricky and require lots of lab tests to look for consistency I feel. As you said, multiple of the same cuttings grown together and simply harvested at different times and with multiple strains and then multiple buds from each plant harvested at different times. Wouldn't be a cheap test to do either - depending on what lab tests you do. The terps seem to consistently drop though with the dark period. So if one is after terps, the darkness period isn't for you it seems.

@John Stonedwell Where the updates at?

Just because it is a hype, does not meant it is better. I feel there are some other hypes in the cannabis industry which is not necessarily better, yet it is what is popular and it makes money for stores and suppliers of those products. To me, it only makes sense if you want to save a specific plant and it's already in flower.

Is it even worth it considering how long it takes the plant to reveg? 2 to 3 weeks is half way to the plant being ready for flower from a normal cutting...

Everywhere scam on CBD products
PsyCLown replied to Prom's topic in General Discussion On Medical Cannabis
This is part of the reason why we grow though, to know where our shit comes from and to have a better idea as to what it actually is. Although getting your stuff tested is still a good idea, especially if you require a CBD specific strain / extract. -
Some nice Psytrance boerewors and some techno. Charlotte De Witte is awesome.

Welcome and enjoy your stay. Similar name, might bring some confusion to the title on some of my grow diaries. lol

Everywhere scam on CBD products
PsyCLown replied to Prom's topic in General Discussion On Medical Cannabis
Quite unfortunate and the sad part is majority of people wouldn't have the bud tested and just take the breeders word for it. I too would love to get my hands on a confirmed CBD plant which has less than 1% THC. -

I keep things simple, do not have time to baby plants. Cuttings go into water for a few hours, then into the jiffies / plugs and into the clone dome which sits inside the veg tent. Due to the other plants in the veg tent, the RH is often reasonable and not too low. Based on the RH in the tent, will determine whether I have the airflow adjustment on the clone dome fully closed or a little open. Once I start to see some root being pushed or if the humidity builds up in the dome too much then I will open the airflow holes fully. Once there are roots, I pot up the clones and they go into the veg tent - no further acclimation from my side once they've been potted up. I have not had issues doing this.

@JamesD Glad you came right, often the stores will wait until the funds reflect (even if POP is sent). EFT scams are common, I have come across multiple fake proof of payment documents. So always best practice to wait until the funds reflect before shipping out whatever it is which you are selling. Next time, if you are in a hurry an instant clear EFT may go a long way Stick around, chat with us some more and show us what you going growing in your tent!

So let me finish this thread off with pics of the remaining bud. Bananium: Blunicorn: The Blunicorn looks very similar to the Slurricane I have and grew. The Bananium is closer to Sugarcane and Frosted Apricots in terms of frost. I will be running these strains again, however some are on the chopping block and how they turn out this time will determine whether I keep them or not. So far what is on the list to possibly be scrapped is the following: Jelly Breath Blunicorn Slurricane The LSP, Exodus cheese & French Cookies I have already scrapped and won't be growing them again. Cookies & Cream was a male, so never got to grow it out and the Lime Drops I culled so never grew it out either. Got some new stuff too, however that will be mentioned when I start the next grow and diary.

So quick update now that I have had a chance to sample everything and finish trimming. OG Kush - looks cool, smokes nicely, very nice night time smoke I find. Yield was good at just over 80g Gelato - looks alright, what I would consider average in terms of frost. Smoke is decent. Nothing to write home about IMO though. Wouldn't mind it hitting a little harder or lasting a little longer. Yield was alright at just over 70g. I need to still take pics of the LSD-25, however it surprised me yield wise as I got around 100g dry from it. Did not look as heavy as the scale said though, I weighed it more than once. Smoke wise, it is ok but a little on the weaker side and was a bitch to trim due to the green leaves and purple bud and the bud structure which is shitty. The Pluto Cut, smoke is not as bad as I thought it might be but it looks terrible, the smoke surprised me actually. The way it looks is my fault though, seems it died and I left it in the tent so the colour disappeared and frost isn't there at all. This is the Pluto cut after a quick trim.

Cloning a single mother to fill up a tent, cons?
PsyCLown replied to Orcanic's topic in Cloning & Propagation
A perpetual grow with dedicated veg and flower, then using cuttings will always be the quickest way to get multiple harvests and has the potential to lead to the biggest harvests per tent as you are running the exact same plant again - so if its a plant which yields well it should be consistently yielding well. Growing from seed will open you up to the lucky packet of phenos and variances, so yield may not always be the same. I prefer working with cuttings as opposed to seeds, by the time the seed has grown to the size of a rooted cutting, it's about the same period of time (if not more) than it would to have taken the cutting and had it root. It is possible for a cutting to provide a larger plant in a shorter period of time but this would vary a bit as well. Make a DIY grow area to keep a mother for now, take cuttings, root them and grow them out. -
Good idea @Dookie69 Powercon and speakon are awesome connectors and work very well. Very simple and easy to use and will prevent one from accidentally pulling out a cable or having a loose connection.

Looking great! Eager to see them once they start flowering and layering the frost!

I take a similar approach to @CreX and do not spray my plants often and not with everything under the sun. I don't really end up with deficiencies and the plants get their nutes via their roots from my feeds. I mostly spray for IPM, however there are a few things I add into the mix occasionally which is meant to help the plants in various ways. It can be a bit difficult and time consuming doing tests to see what actually makes a difference and what does not. Perhaps something I must spend a bit more time doing and looking into though. I agree 100% on the pressure sprayers, one with a wand is even better though and well worth the money!

You can replace the power socket on the light, it is a IEC socket. They are pretty cheap from RS components and most other electrical places. https://www.google.com/search?client=opera&q=IEC+socket&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 Then you can purchase a kettle cord from Takealot or where ever else you can find them, also rather cheap. Alternatively, connect a cable straight to the light and avoid using the IEC connector. I'd recommend soldering the cable for a proper connection.

Cloning a single mother to fill up a tent, cons?
PsyCLown replied to Orcanic's topic in Cloning & Propagation
You want to try get the best pheno, ideally. Although if you are happy with a lucky packet each time and variances, then not essential. Even with feminized seeds, there is still pheno variation and one needs to find that keeper pheno(s). The best way to grow, in my opinion, is to grow with cuttings of specific phenos. That way you know exactly what you are getting and are able to achieve consistent results (more or less, there is often still variables with feeding and climate / environment etc.) If you wanted to pheno hunt, you'd need to label them in a unique way (even with numbers is fine), take cuttings and label the cuttings, flower out the plants and see which ones you want to keep and then just continue with those. For example, maybe #3 and #5 are the best from all your seeds, then you could kill the other cuttings and just keep #3 and #5 and grow those two out. -
So basically, it is easier to drown a plant in a smaller / shorter pot compared to a bigger / taller pot, even when both have had water added to them until run off? Any idea how this differs between coco and soil and the mixes with added perlite etc?
-
How much of a difference does it make? Has anyone done a side by side? Pampering one plant with RO water and feeding the other plain old tap water? Same soil, same amendments, same nutes, same cutting etc? See what difference there is between the two plants during growth and we could even go a step further and do a blindfold smoke test and see if anyone will notice the difference. I do not think so. @CreX Your tea still develops, the bacteria multiply and the air will help rid of any excess chlorine a lot quicker than letting it stand undisturbed. I feel people get sucked into the nitty gritty which IMO does not make a big difference, little to no difference end of the day. Salt nutes kill bacteria. Tap water kills bacteria. Too dry medium kills bacteria. Do the bacteria die off completely? How much of a difference is noticed? I know that @CreX was a big fan of teas with his hydro grow, made a big difference yet I believe that was tap water and he was using salt nutes. Must we all get JoJo tanks to water our garden or only let the rain water it? Avoid using tap water for out garden? Do people who grow outdoors let their water sit before giving it to their plants or do they just reach for the hose, open the tap and be done with it? I feel there is too much separation between the two. Tap water and salt nutes seen as the devil, they have no place when one wants to use some microbes, fungi, teas etc. I do not feel this is the case. I feel it is blown out of proportion at times. I do not feel one needs to be soo pedantic about this. When we wipe down counter tops in a kitchen, we don't use tap water alone - we use cleaning detergents as well to kill the bacteria. EDIT: To be clear, I am not saying it does not have an effect on the microbes and whatever else may be in your medium but it certainly does not wipe them out.
