Aerated Compost Teas vs ExploGrow
PsyCLown replied to Spaidan's topic in Organic Growing - Growing in soil
I have never used that soil before, I have used Explogrow but I do not do full organic grows - I like my salt based nutes and coco. I quite like using explogrow for when I germinate seeds actually, I do not think it is a true microbe inoculant but it does contain trichoderma and a few other goodies. I'd personally still use it in combination with an inoculant such as Environoc 401 or EM Pro Soil. I'd lean towards adding some extra amendments for flower as not much nitrogen will be needed during flower and larger amounts of phosphate will be wanted for sure.- 5 replies

I have, only once and would love to do it again. I really did not expect sky diving to be as peaceful as it is - once the parachute opens. I've been wanting to get my diving license for a few years now and must actually make it happen sometime soon.

@John Stonedwell seems you and I have similar taste in music. The genres I listen to span far and wide as well.

Welcome @AvB! You have come to the right place. While a 50W CFL light is really not ideal for growing cannabis, especially once your plants get bigger you will really want to consider a better light or grow them outdoors. It does happen from time to time where the plant keeps the seed shell on for a bit, I often try help the seedling out by carefully removing it. Once again it is now uncommon for seedlings to be a bit flimsy and fragile and require support for a short period of time - once they get bigger the plant will be able to support itself again and no further support will be required. So give the plant a few days and take it from there. Feel free to post some pictures and if you have any more questions, ask!

Looking good, love what you did with the lights - the fans to help keep them nice and cool and the middle piece I assume is to help reflect light back down onto the plants?

Let's get this going again. What strain did you guys smoke last? I had some Aurora Kush with a little bit of the Citradelic Sunset which was left in my grinder. Was good, the Aurora Kush has a great smell to it I feel however the Citradelic Sunset is more potent.

So I have seen this on various other forums over the years and I like it, so might as well see how well it does on this forum. Simple concept, post what you are currently listening to. Can be a youtube link or just plain text.

It should work to move air out of the tent as the pressure builds up. If you turn your fan onto the fastest setting and go feel the other end of the exhaust ducting, you should feel a bit of a breeze. I will be running fans for intake and exhaust though as I have filters on both fans - intake filter to keep the dust and such out and then carbon filter on exhaust fan to keep the smell at bay. If you are unhappy with the way it is currently working, then consider another fan for the exhaust. What size tent is that?
-
I like that water tray thing you have in your tent, what is it and where'd you get it from? So the air in take is from outside (literally), you have a filter there to ensure no bugs and dust get into your tent from outside? The airintake goes into the top of the tent? 6" fan with 4" ducting? Then at the bottom I see some more, larger ducting - this is to get the air out your tent and there is no fan connected? So working on the positive pressure build up in the tent to exhaust air out of your tent?

Nice, what is the Neem leaf powder for? Pest control or what benefits does it offer?

I feel you proved my point in your response. You know what you are doing and you know what you want to do and how to go about doing it. With growing in general, there are soo many uncertainties and inconsistencies and I more research certainly needs to be done. It is not yet on the same level as typical commercial farming where the research has been done to the point where people will come out, test your soil and then be able to tell you how much fertiliser to give, when to give it, when to do this and when to do that to maximize yield. There are products which are designed to increase plant health, growth and yield but if given to your crop say in weeks 3 and 4 then it actually has the opposite effect although before and after is fine and increases yield. Cannabis I do not feel is at that level yet, some are still debating whether to flush or not. lol Different strains and phenos can have different requirements. Lots of talk about products which can assist with increasing yield, frost, terpenes etc. but how much research has been done as to how well these products work and the best way to make use of them? Research as to how safe certain substances are to use on cannabis as we smoke it and do not eat it like a lot of other crops. So I feel there is still a lot of unknowns with cannabis in general. You have not done any big "no no's" with your grow, so I guess it comes down to trial and error, testing, research and dialing everything in. If I have a suggestion or thought, I generally mention it. I think that is the best one can do at the moment. After dialing in the basics and such, I think one ends up in the unknown territory with a lot of speculation, personal preference and trying to find various ways and things to help improve ones grow. Maybe I am wrong though.

Ethos and Mephisto Genetics focusing on US market
PsyCLown replied to Cannabist's topic in Promotions & Latest Drops
Hmm, that's really not cool. Will you guys consider stocking some more expensive seeds such as In House Genetics? -
With jut like that, best to sell everything and go back to buying bankies from the dudes at the petrol station. You can grow weed and I am sure you can handle most issues which you may run into, so I guess the thing is - what exactly are you trying to achieve or what do you want to try do better or which aspect of your plants / grow do you want to see improvements on etc? Your plants look good and healthy. Its the first time you are running these strains, if you want to just try and improve overall - perhaps try get a better feel for each strain and adjust what you feed them accordingly... if you want to go into that much effort. I know I personally do not. I'd rather change plants and be able to have each plant receive the same strength of nutes due to time savings, its easier and less effort this way and for me personally would be a better compromise. Environment control one can only go so far without additional equipment such as an Aircon or dehumidifier and not everyone is willing or is able to justify spending the money to purchase the equipment or pay for the electricity they use as it adds up quickly.

Looking good! @SkunkPharm did you grow the In House Genetics from seed or did the people you got the cuttings from grow it from seed or was it just a cutting passed down from nobody really knows where?

The Sonoff TH16 is a decent option as are these: https://www.botshop.co.za/product/stc-3028-temperature-and-humidity-controller-220v/?dTribesID=8a39de08ff8b3b134be2df5a9f4c5a32|adtribes|58226&utm_source=Google Shopping&utm_campaign=Google feed&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=58226&gclid=Cj0KCQiA9P__BRC0ARIsAEZ6iriJV3QRKb90jqTBaqif1T25Mhz9W31NiBtDDSW1K8Pf_EeTJyyrg5UaApWsEALw_wcB They both do the same thing, connect something to it and then they will turn it on / off based on the parameters (Temperature or humidity). Zephyr Farms stock AC Infinity fans which come with a nice controller and a probe for temp and RH, the fan can then be set to certain speeds depending on the RH or temp. Although ultimately, an aircon and/or dehumidifier may be needed depending on the ambient temp and ambient humidity. These typically will turn off at the set temperature or humidity automatically and kick in again when the temp or humidity increases outside of the set range.

So now we wait and see if it really is an auto or if its just showing sex. Should know shortly. Regarding flowering times, not uncommon for breeders to state a flowering period which is shorter than what will be achieved. Best is to check the trichomes before harvesting, I never work off the breeders timeline as in my experience it has always been incorrect and the plants need an extra week or two. Depending on the pheno variation, sometimes even longer!
