  1. So here are some pics of my setup: You can see some of my DIY Quantum Boards in the front, the box fans suspended from the top of the tent, carbon filter and extraction fan to the side. Cable ties to secure everything to the poles inside the tent and lots of rope ratchets. Here is a Light It Up light at the back, another box fan. The oscillating fan to the left will probably come out sometime, or when it dies. I also have my power supplies / LED drivers outside on the top of my tent (on top of a box) to help keep the heatinside the tent down and my multiplug and power is outside the tent. I also make use of the Power Meters so I can see how much watts I am dimming my Quantum Boards to. I did not take a pic of this as I need to use a ladder to get a proper pic and stuff was in the way. Here you can see the damage thrips can do to the leaves of a plant: You can see the twist ties and clips I use for LST on the plants. I want to try reduce the LST, however since these were already quite large plants when I got them I need to make use of LST to try get the plants to where I want them. Here you can see how small the plant is when I start with LST. Just bend it and leave it for a while and continue to adjust as it grows to ensure you end up with a plant trained the way you like it and want it. Pic of some of the plants chilling inside the tent. I just did the LST before taking these pics so plants look a bit messy still though.
  2. Chitosan is suppose to trick the plants immune system, think it is being attacked and eaten by bugs Aspirin & salicylic acid is meant to help the plant handle stress better, handle extreme temps better and even consume less water (so more resistant to drought).
  3. Do they feed off thr plants? What do stink bugs actually eat. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  5. So is anyone using or has tried using Chitosan oligosaccharide, and/or salicylic acid or aspirin?
  6. Setup isn't anything special, but will try take pics when I get a chance
  7. Want to see my setup or plants?
  8. Ahoy matey! Been a while but I have finally got a grow going again So I am quite fortunate in the sense that I did not have to start plants from scratch, got some larger cuttings from friends and most were ready to be potted up into 20L fabric pots already. Said friends did have some issues with pests and the overall condition of the plants meant that I needed to do a bit of work - top them, clean up the old dead leaves and now I need to start with some training and I obviously needed to spray for pests. When I got the plants I did a spray with a mixture of neem and pyrol, I much prefer Pyrol over Neem but had both and decided to not fuck around and get rid of these pests as the leaves had been attacked quite a bit by the thrips. Two nights ago I got some Beauveria bassiana (EcoBuz sell it as Pest Pro, as well as a few others under various names) and did a spray on my plants as a precautionary measure - not that I have seen any thrips since the first spray. I saw some bugs in the coco, but has not seen them recently and am hoping they have since died as well... not actually sure what bugs were in the coco to be honest. Some details on my grow, equipment and supplies etc. I am using Quantum Boards with Samsung LM301B diodes as per usual. I love these lights, they work really well and grow some dank bud! For air circulation I use box fans which are mounted at the top of my tent, blowing downwards. 23cm pots for the smaller plants, 20L Plant Matters fabric pots for the larger plants. The plants are all in coco with a bit of perlite. I use the 5KG bricks, buffer myself and just eyeball the perlite. I like to use GHE Tri Part nutes and I follow the feeding chart on the bottle I aim for a PH between 5.8 and 6.3 generally. Mostly in the 5.9 to 6.2 range actually. Below is a list of the strain I am running currently: Solfire Gardens - LSP (Lumpy Space Princess) In House Genetics - Bananium In House Genetics - Sugarcane Exodus cheese (not sure which breeder) In House Genetics - Jelly breath In House Genetics - Lime drops Exotic Genetics - Cookies & cream In House Genetics - Slurricane In House Genetics - Frosted apricots In House Genetics - Blunicorn TH seeds - French cookies Since some of these strains have already been flowered by my friends, I know how some will turn out and others I will need to wait until flower to know whether they will be keepers or not. So far it seems the Lime Drops and Frosted Apricots are not that great, Blunicorn could be better too I believe but I have not seen pics of these plants myself. The Sugarcane is a keeper for sure! Jelly Breath was quite decent too. The Exodus Cheese makes some really big buds I believe and French Cookies some very dense nugs. Cookies & Cream is from seed, there is a chance it may be a male. Also not sure how this pheno will turn out. I will certainly be narrowing down the strains for my next grow and scrap the strains which do not perform as well. I will be posting some pictures when I get a chance. Still need to do some training on the plants too, hoping to flip to flower before the end of Jan.
  9. These poor nutes are still looking for a home, feeling unloved and unwanted. They just want to make some plants happy and keep those plants well fed.
  10. When I was making teas I used a much cheaper airpump. https://www.jungleaquatics.net/online-store/SOBO-SB9905-Double-Outlet-Air-Pump-p105310395 This with 2x airstones inside my bucket with the tea worked well for me. However for a Vortex, you want a more powerful pump... so going for Hailea may make sense then... but then you might as well build a Vortex brewer.
  11. Interesting, just humic & fulvic acid with some kelp extracts and you're soil is performing well again and no need to frequently fertilise? @Totemic So as I understand it and on a basic level, the humic acid is something additional for the microbes to break down? Fulvic acid is a chelate to help make it easier for the plants to take in the nutrients. Kelp extracts, well, they typically provide auxins and cytokins and a few other things which are know to help stimulate plant growth in general with a boost in root development.
  12. I think MJ was perhaps a bit tired with the lack of light... Especially if she was brought inside around her bed time when the sun goes down. EDIT:
  13. Hi Charl, Welcome! Tapping into the international / US market, well.... do you want to be able to sell to that market? If so, I feel you are going to struggle to do so from South Africa. People are use to very quick shipping and if you are shipping from SA to the US it will not be quick and it will cost an arm and a leg. I assume you are reselling different breeders seeds and are not a breeder yourself. So competing with the other online stores who can ship to the US for free or very cheaply and do so quickly will be quite a challenge. As for selling cannabis related products online, there are loads of online stores doing this. You need to figure out how you are going to stand out from the others, especially when you are simply reselling products which other online suppliers sell as well. Why should someone purchase from you as opposed to one of the other sites? If you approach the local distributors, you can sign up with them and get access to all of the their stock however you typically have to purchase x amount of products and product to x value. You cannot simply purchase a few bottles or nutes in different sizes type of thing. It is going to be a box of one nute in one size.
  14. That purple punch looks good, it's a great strain. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  15. What is the tube in the background? As for when to start LST, well, perhaps after the 4th node or so.
  16. I quite enjoy watching Vice and this I found rather interesting and decided to share it with you all. I have tried spice before, at the time did not know what it was and when I learnt about the dangers I stopped. I must admit, I did enjoy it... quite a bit. Was very euphoric and a bit more trippy, did not make me as sleepy or tired... it was a bit moreish as well. Since growing my own, I know exactly what I am getting. I do not think this is an issue we have here in SA at least, hopefully it is not one we end up with either... however since access to weed in SA is not that difficult and one can grow their own, I do not think and hope we will not end up with a similar issue.
  17. Hey all, So I have a bubble cloner tub I made, just needs a clean and then you need to add airstones and an air pump and it is good to go. Giving it away for free, if anyone is keen just drop me a PM.
  18. I had some led strips which used Beidgelux diodes and have had some strips which used Samsung lm561c diodes and then QB's with the lm301b diodes. The lm301b diodes have been the best so far. But once again it all depends, not every diode is the same. You'd want to compare the Beidgelux diode which lion tree use to the Samsung lm301b and see which offers better performance. The Samsung diodes are tried and tested, used in lots of high end lights. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  19. @AquaS That 240W light is good for around 0.82 sqm - so it depends how many plants you can fit in such a space. I have managed to fit 6x 20L pots inside a smaller space before (0.72sqm). You could fit more plants under the light, especially in veg... even in flower, it just won't be the ideal intensity - however I feel it is common for most growers to not have the optimum amount of light for their sized grow as lights are expensive.
  20. Seeds were shipped on the 30th BTW. So should be delivered early next week Wanted to try get them out before xmas but did not work out that way, sorry guys.
  21. Welcome! No need for a dehumidifier if you have an AC as far as I am concerned. Depending on your setup, you can run a portable AC inside your tent and this will ensure the AC does not stay on for long periods of time and therefore electricity usage won't be too hectic.

    Serenade

I do not have any serenade, although have they changed the name to The Cease now instead of serenade? Got a link to where one can purchase it overseas?
  23. Take care of your probe and it should last. Rinse it off after use, use the storage fluid to keep the sponge damp and always close the cap after use. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
