  1. Well, once again it depends on how many plants you plan on growing. I feel the 240W QB is a waste for 1 autoflower. The autoflower wont ever get big enough to fill that 1 x 1 tent of yours. In terms of which QB is a good one to go for, well, really up to you. A lot of them are quite similar but there are differences for sure. Common differences would be the actual QB board itself, there are quite a few Quantum Boards out there which do not use the typical QB288 board, quite a few are starting to use less than 288 diodes on their boards - so less maximum output and less power handling. These quantum boards also come with more of an aluminium plate as opposed to a proper heatsink with fins and they are generally plain aluminium silver, not anodized. While these Quantum Boards will work, I personally would prefer to go for the more traditional quantum board with the qb288 boards as you are getting more diodes from the searching I have done, pricing is about the same give or take a couple hundred. A lot of the Quantum Boards which come with the QB288 boards also seem to have a better heatsink, they have fins on them (once again, not all heatsinks are the same, some have longer or larger fins than others) and the heatsinks are often anodized, which is more of a look thing. I feel it looks neater and cleaner. Then other considerations would be the accessories which come with the Quantum Board, I have noticed not all of them come with the same accessories. I have only seen one seller actually provide a power meter with their light, also not all of them offer a dimmer etc. The Quantum board you linked to comes with a power meter and they're the only seller I have seen who actually provide a power meter with their lights. However depending on how you run your lights, it may not even be needed really. If you plan on dimming your lights, then it will make a massive difference as you can actually tell how much power you are dimming the lights to. Then depending on how competent you are with DIY, some of the Quantum Boards come assembled, some require you to connect cables and some may require you to fully assemble it yourself. While this is not difficult, it is something to consider as not everyone will be comfortable to assemble it themselves or would prefer the convenience of having it fully assembled. In terms of warranty, not something I would be too worried about. Majority of the Quantum Boards come with Meanwell LED drivers which should have a 5 year warranty on them and most provide a warranty on the LED board itself, but the likelihood of anything going wrong is slim. Not impossible, but not a common occurrence.
  2. @Slartibarfast you could even run both lights in that tent and fit 4x 20L pots inside there. Or if you want to get rid of your current light, it may be better to get a 240W light instead then. However if you really only grow 1 plant at a time and it is an auto, it wont fill that tent so you can get away with a single 120W Quantum Board. That light of yours is certainly not 600w, despite what the marketing might state. If you measure the draw from the wall, I would guess it would be around 100 - 150w at most. The Samsung LM301B diodes would be more efficient as well though. So lets say your current Besva "600w" light is actually only drawing 120W from the wall, the Quantum Board would have a higher output despite both lights drawing 120W and this is due to the diodes. To further assist, I guess we need to know: Do you plan on always only grow 1 plant or would you like to grow more plants? Will you considering growing photoperiods? A single photoperiod can be vegged to fill the entire tent space if you only want a single plant in there
  3. Interesting, just goes to show how everyone is different and how these substances affect us differently. Weed gets me in a very different zone to where I need to be when I want to lift weights.
  4. Keep us posted on the progress
  5. @Chris Jay the way you felt sounds more trippy to me, more like a psychedelic high compared to cannabis high. However it seems some people do infact find cannabis to be a bit psychedelic and trippy, I suppose they just have a natural, lower tolerance to it than I do. Quite interesting I find, but similar occurrences are common - everybody reacts to different substances in a different way. 40mg of cannabis will affect one person in a certain way and another person in a completely different way and the same applies to various other substances. I seldom find cannabis to be energizing, does not rally stimulate me much. However dabs I tend to find more stimulating in terms of the high and when cannabis is mixed with caffeine, the effects are quite different compared to just cannabis or just caffeine by itself. It turns into more of a stimulating high, one where I am able to be more active. I do not enjoy running in general, I'd much rather cycle than run. Never tried to cycle while high though. Gym and lifting weights while high, that was a joke and a waste of time. The weed made me faaar too lazy and gave me a bit of a "I do not care" attitude where trying to lift heavy weights was a complete waste a time and felt like a lot more effort than usual.
  6. Just try manipulate the plant to ensure as many of the budsites get light as possible and that leaves are not blocking the light and also to ensure there is sufficient airflow through the canopy. Doesn't look terribly dense though, so shouldn't be too much of a worry but will still help a bit.
  7. Looks good and healthy to me. Maybe try and open up the canopy a bit to ensure the light penetrates the canopy and reaches all bud sites, as long as you have enough light for the plant then nothing to worry about. What light are you running?
  8. Wowzer, you and I do very different things when we're high. haha Very impressive though. Then again, I do not even like running when I am sober. Much rather do different forms of exercise than run. For me, exercise is more of a sober activity. I get high to chill and relax, so after doing exercise generally.
  9. Without a doubt. Gonna take a few days. But it'll be well worth it. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  10. Looking great!! Screw dagga lab, I say we call it a jungle! :D When people ask you where you got the bud from, you can tell them it came from the jungle. Haha Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  11. It is never too late! Start one now and keep us updated on the progress of your plants. Any questions or anything you are unsure of, ask in your diary too.
  12. An industry such as cannabis will always attract various types of people. Some will be it in for the love of the plant and will happily assist others where possible. Others just to try and make money and couldn't care about the industry in general, nor about the consumers or the future of the plant... as long as it benefits them now. Many people just looking out for themselves end of the day. I am not sure that contrast will ever disappear, the potential with cannabis is just too high to ignore.
  13. The market might be more mature than ours, however that is actually what I like about our local market and communities. We're still at the point where its home growers mostly. No legal dispensaries all over the place like overseas. We are still able to set the framework and determine the market and direction it goes in. Many people are still only getting into cannabis now in terms of growing their own. I find this far more exciting than the US market. EDIT: Generally speaking, I prefer the international forums as the information is generally better and the forums are more active. However there are some exceptions and 420SA is certainly one of them. Sometimes being able to talk to locals is far more valuable than what is available and up for discussion on international forums. The products we have access to locally differ significantly compared to what is available in the US and some of the products available in the US are priced stupidly high locally and takes away the appeal.
  14. Nice to see some plants inside the tent! Maybe start a new thread for a grow diary?
  15. What is your aim when you create new seeds / strains? What is it that you like to look for in a plants when breeding them and deciding what is a keeper and what is not? When do you determine that it is time to change things up a bit and add some new strains into your mix of breeding material? I recall you recently started some breeding with Slurricane for example.
  16. @DamDave how much cinnamon do you add? @Wulf I agree with @CreX it does not look like a fungus gnat. No clue what it may be though. Sorry.
  17. Welcome! If you are flowering it outdoors, not likely it will finish unless it is an autoflower. To me, it looks far from ready as well - you would need a loupe or microscope in order to really tell as one needs to be able to look at the colour of the trichomes to tell whether it is ripe / ready for harvest.
  18. Ethos Mandarin Cookies put me off cookie strains to be honest. Would be keen to try some again at some point though.
  19. @Golden-Goose I think the Critical Banana looks pretty good. Stardawg x Fire Alien Kush is also quite intriguing.
  20. Fungi are truly amazing and we likely are not using them to their full potential. @Teal Smith some lovely pictures there!
  21. No, I think the member you are thinking about was @Green Leaf Organics but I do not believe this is his soil. This soil is made much closer to JHB, cannot remember where exactly and they might have even changed the location as to where they make it.
  22. Isn't it the Organics Matter which is sold via the 420SA store? Comes with a free bag of mycorrhizal fungi inside. @Ill_Evan am I right or is it a different soil? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  23. I do agree, they are pretty awesome and powerful lights. You could get away with 3 but it would not provide the optimal PPFD output for that size tent (2.4 x 1.2). You could still flower in the tent and get a decent yield and decent results, however that would improve with additional lighting - provided the rest of your grow is in check and going well @Prom which fan is that which you are running? I do feel one can get away without an intake fan, I have so far not been using an intake fan. However having passive air intake becomes needed. Secret Jardin make these awesome intakes with filters. It's part of their accessories and included with their Dark Street range, however it can be used on any tent. No light leaks and has a filter built in.
  24. Just BTW Samsung do no make those boards, they only make the diodes. Do not be caught off with the way some retailers word their lights. I reckon 10+ plants in such a space, you would want more light for that area however you could get away with what you have but results wouldn't be the same as if you had more lights obviously. As for adding a COB, you could but I would personally rather have a quantum board or LED strips over a COB. Better spread and more even coverage when compared against a COB, although it does also depend on the COB but generally speaking a COB wont have the same spread / coverage when compared against QBs or strips.
  25. Welcome Golden Goose! Got some nice looking strains on your site!
