To me, sounds as if they were trying to steer you towards a sale from their store. I say LED all the way! You can get quality LED lights for under R6k for sure! What exactly did they want to sell you for R6k? 240w QB? I wouldn't purchase a blurple LED light either.

1st Clone Grow - All Hail Skunkpharm's Quality Street Assortment

The light you have them under plays a role too I believe, going from decent light to sun isn't a problem. Going for poor lights to sun can be, or so I've heard. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk- 37 replies

@SkunkPharm I assume you reuse them as well?
-
So whats happening now? How they looking now that they're in flower? @1000Hills Nursery
-
Hopefully the soil isn't too hot, with an autoflower you really want everything to be perfect otherwise yield can be heavily affected. Not much room for error with an autoflower. Good luck with the grow and keep us posted on how it goes.

Looks good, nicely done

If you don't mind me asking, what is the relation between Aeradix and Hydroponic / Windell?
-
@Aeradix Ahh nice! Now how well does it work in terms of containing smell? If you leave a bag with 50g of some strong smelling bud inside your car on a hot day and come back to your car 2 or 3 hours later... Will it really not smell at all like weed? I know if I even take 2 or 3g in a small ziplock and put it in my car, go to the shops before stopping at a friends place ... the car smells pretty dank. Keeping jars with boveda in a cupboard, you open the cupboard and you can smell its a bit funky. Similar case with these bags or does it really not leak smell at all?
-
I agree, may be keen to give it a try next harvest too and see how it compares to jars with boveda.
-
@Aeradix so this would be an alternative to jars with boveda packs then? I assume the TerpLoc bags would only lower humidity, not increase it? Is there a limit to how long the TerpLoc bag will last before requiring replacement?

I've used mycorhizal fungi with coco. Hard to say whether it makes a difference, even with soil. I like to think it does though. Haha Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

Ain't noting wrong with tap water.
-
GHE Soft Water works well, you will need calmag to buffer the coco. Always useful to keep some on hand for just incase as well.
-
Not difficult to do. The difficult part seems to be finding someplace which actually has stock of it. Has it been pulled? Has production of it been stopped or WTF. Like every place I have found on a quick google search is out of stock. eBay has for like $78 when the normal price was around $15 - $17 so hiked up really high it seems.
-
@Prom there seem to be different versions of Serenade - which one do you use and do you have a link to somewhere overseas selling it?
-
Customs on clothing is very high, not sure of the exact percentage though. Perhaps you got lucky, or maybe not. I sometimes feel the people at customs don't quite know themselves what should be charged and possibly use the incorrect HS codes and then you end up with different amounts for the same items being imported etc.

I see it has been extended to 9 October and I believe it HAS to be sent to cannabisbill@parliament.gov.za only. So anyone who has sent an email to vramaano@parliament.gov.za will need to resend it to cannabisbill@parliament.gov.za No more bounce back from the cannabisbill email address.

Must have originated from Thailand... has balls and fooled you into thinking its a lady.

@Ill_Evan are you still going to run those Green Smoke Room seeds despite what you got from them in the last grow?
-
Generally its always cheaper to do something yourself. You pay for the convenience. Want to service your car, the parts are only part of the cost. The labour is the rest and if you're doing it at the stealerships they charge a hefty price per hour. Same applies to food, growing it yourself is a fraction of the cost to buying it in the shops. Coco is no different. Hydrating the coco, washing it and buffering it and mixing it with perlite is quite a mission and a hassle for sure. So naturally buying it ready in a bag will come at a premium price. As for it being less than R70, depends where you are sourcing it all from but a 5KG brick expands to around 60L roughly and those sell for over R70 for a decent quality brick. Plus you gotta mix in some perlite. So overall you could get what's in the bag for less, but I do feel it the raw materials would cost you more - unless of course you are bringing it into SA in bulk yourself. The pricing on the coco and perlite is similar to the pricing on the soil people sell. R180 for 30L of soil vs R350 for 60L of coco & perlite, which works out to R175 for 30L of coco & perlite. When you think about it, soil is dirt and some amendments.
