  1. I meant to mention this as well. Using CBD to help counter anxiety and paranoia.
  2. AQSF should work well. Otherwise perhaps use some Sulphur spray, but do some research first. Some say its fine to use during flower, others say it may leave a bit of a taste / residue on the buds. Some notice it, some do not. Not bad to use more than one product, if its really bad.
  3. Haha ok, when I talk about vape I am referring to vapes which take dry herb. Although nothing wrong with pens which take cartridges, but never tried that myself to be honest.
  4. HID can be nice in winter, in summer though - different story with all the heat waves.
  5. There is always going to be personal preference - any beginner will need to find what works best for them. I do agree that majority of people will start with a joint or bong, unless they have a friend who has a vape and can help guide them.
  6. @SkunkPharm I personally prefer fem seeds, growing regs is just a hassle as it means space will be a problem. I will never be able to maximize on my space in my flower tent when regs are involved - something will be thrown out of the mix. However I do grow regs if I have to, if its a good strain I want to grow and only comes as a regular. I also grew some GTH by Rare Dankness, such a lanky plant with huge internode spacing. Made for quite a challenging indoor grow as it was not growing the way I am use to and training was not having the effects I am use to. Eventually I managed to pull over 200g dry from that plant, it got really big too. Neglected a bit as well, but the smoke was decent. I harvested too early as well I feel, but I had no choice. The frost was lacking, the buds weren't massive and not dense either. Could have been my fault though. The smell and taste, I have not had any other plant smell or taste the same. Extremely unique and I found it quite pleasant. The high was decent too, not the most potent but I enjoyed it. With all of that being said, not sure I would grow it again. Stupidly long flowering plant. Probably needed like 16 weeks or more in flower to mature properly - at least the one I had. I'd rather grow it outside too, if I was able to.
  7. I think firstly one needs to ensure the quality of the weed is decent and that it was harvested at the right time - when you harvest your weed can play a big role in the effects it gives. If you harvest too early, you have a higher chance of getting a racy high and anxiety / paranoia. Set and setting - very important factor as well, make sure the person is comfortable and in a good state of mind. Edibles are probably not the right way as everyone reacts differently to edibles. I think smoking or preferably vaping is most preferable. Start them on a few puffs, then give them 10 min or so to feel it and get use to it and decide whether they want to smoke a bit more or if they're good. Vaping is not nearly as harsh as smoking, tastes way better too. You've gotta take more hits as well, so a bit easier to dose.
  8. I have not used HIDs and do not see much point to it for the home grower - LEDs make more sense I feel.
  9. Thanks, we really don't need to know about Mrs Palmer & her 5 daughters and what all of you guys get up to This 8 plant limit is rather kak, some people will simply continue to grow as they did before and disregard the limit altogether. It is not a terrible limit, but at the same time it rules out certain styles of growing. Makes it less efficient too. Although the bigger picture is, why have these limits in the first place when such limits do no exists with multiple other "drugs" which are legal. I am all for an age restriction, same with cigs and alcohol. Although past that, well, we're all adults here and should be able to decide what we want to do and smoke and take - provided it does not harm anyone else.
  10. @felix2000 if its your first auto, perhaps rather just do LST for now to avoid any disappointments and to help you gain a better understanding and idea as to how that specific auto grows over multiple seeds. You can achieve great results with just LST from an auto and a nice flat canopy too.
  11. Alright cool, monitor and see I guess. Hopefully it does not come back. I feel spraying bud during flower isn't ideal, although if it gets to a point where you have to - then just make sure a fan is run over the bud to ensure it dries properly and I doubt it will become an issue.
  12. Is that plant seeded? To me it looks as if it could possibly still fatten up a bit - although always harvest based on the trichomes and their colouring. That is how you tell how ripe / mature it is.
  13. Have you sprayed anything to assist with the PM? If you just cut some leaves with PM and added a dehumidifier, not sure that will be enough to stop it as the spores have most likely already spread throughout your tent and onto other plants.
  14. Ultimately it would come down to the plant - if its a fast grower and very healthy and takes time before it goes into flower, then you may be able to get away with topping it. If not, then I would avoid it as that could just make matters worse and stunt the plant and decrease your yield. Due to the uncertainly with autos, if I were to grow some (or when), I will likely just do LST and not topping or any HST.
  15. Can't tell just yet. Are they in flower yet?
  16. Yes, I understand. Very likely and possible, I believe the lower temps affects the metabolism of the plant? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  17. Yes, I believe temperature will affect the growth rate of the plants. Lower temps during veg certainly slow things down, although hadn't given it much thought or paid attention to how it affects flower. In winter I run a heater though so it's over 20C anyways - although before a heater slow growth for sure. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  18. Precisely, how doe sine tell when the stretch is over? Doesn't make sense to count from after the stretch to me. It should be counted from the day you flip. Breeders should give timeliness based on this as its easier to follow. Once again, breeders prefer a shorter flowering time as it's more appealing and can help lead to a purchase over a strain with a more accurate and longer flowering time. Is another 2 weeks of flower really the end of the world? You're around 18 weeks in overall if based on breeders time line, although pushing it out to 20 weeks before harvest isn't that much of an issue imo. You've waited so long already. Wait a bit longer and get some quality bud. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  19. I discussed it with someone before, they counted from after the stretch. I count from the time I switch to 12 hours of light and I think most count like this. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  20. I don't think so, although light intensity would affect the yield. Not so much the flower duration. Based on my experience, seed breeders generally put a much shorter flowering time. Normally 9 to 12 weeks before most strains are ready for harvest. I don't even waste my time looking at their flowering duration. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  21. What is the netting for? Try keep everything flat? I reckon you can flip to flower now if you'd like, they're going to stretch too. I thought you were going to do a scrog and weave the plants through the net. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  22. The type of lighting and spectrum can also cause stretching, I believe far red can lead to larger leaves and excess stretching. So great for something like lettuce, for cannabis not really what we're looking for unless you want a lanky plant. Unless you specifically want your plants to have larger internode spacing. But without a doubt, not having the lights at the correct height can affect the growth of the plants, ones generally wants to try and maximize their grow and efficiency etc. Pointless spending big bucks on a grow light, only to not use it as intended and get similar results to a far cheaper light.
  23. So the law has not been finalised just yet, but no more than 8 plants if there are 2 or more adults in the household
  24. Nothing wrong with HST, as long as its done right it can work well. I personally like to use a combination of HST and LST to achieve the type of plant I want. I know some who use just HST to achieve a similar result to me. Topping a plant isn't necessarily a bad thing, if the plant is happy and healthy the delay caused is minimal to almost none as far as I am concerned. You can easily take a cutting to flower in 6 to 8 weeks with it being bigger than a 20L fabric pot, trained and topped and over 30cm tall from the medium. Most likely closer to 6 weeks. Around 8 weeks if working from seed. You should yield at least 80g dry from such a plant too, a good strain could yield more. I have been helping some newbie growers out, they got some cuttings and 4 weeks in the cuttings were almost ready for flower - just waiting for the plant to grow a bit more but its already been topped, trained and has had the leaves defoliated multiple times. Sometimes doing all of this can actually speed up the growth of the plant I feel - although this is based on my opinion and not actual hard facts and science. The plants really seem to explode after having the leaves cleaned up and the smaller branches at the bottom removed. It no longer needs to use energy to maintain that, can use all of the energy on new growth.
