  1. Hey all, So I thought it would be cool to state how / why we started smoking weed and then why we started growing it. I guess I will start... I started smoking it, well, I was curious as to what it was like I guess and had a few friends who use to smoke. I have never smoked cigs, first time I tried was with a friend and it was what I would not classify as cheap shit. Full of seeds and frost was not a thing back then. It was a joint, fuck me it was harsh. My lungs felt as if they were on fire (I think I had the last few pulls from the joint too), I literally only had one or two very very small pulls. Felt quite euphoric and had a bit of a body high which was pleasant. Back then I typically only smoked if I wanted to try sleep or if I was with friends and wanted to chill. How I started growing, well, I thought I could perhaps grow better weed than I was buying and I had been wanting to grow for a while but the risk put me off for a long time to be honest. Eventually I was like fuck it! I also really wanted to know exactly what I was smoking and see how much of a difference there is between the effects of different strains as well as taste and smell. I also wanted to see how CBD is and whether it really is as magical as some claim it is - so I started growing some strains higher in CBD and then strain which is mostly CBD and less than 1% THC etc. etc. So what about you guys? @420SA come on, share your story with us!
  2. When you going to do an In House genetics pheno hunt?
  3. Or be prepared to face the consequences! ... so if you're going to do something illegal, make sure it's worth it I am sure we've all broken the speed limit at some point. Welcome, I think Mr @Ill_Evan answered all your questions pretty well. So what's your thoughts? You going to take a leap and start a grow? If you need help or advice, start a new thread and you'll get tons of advice and recommendations.
  4. I rate once you get use to the battery vape you'll stop using your Dynavap... Because of ease and convenience mixed with some laziness. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  5. You mean to borrow or do you sell them? @undercover021
  6. It is conduction, but makes me wonder why we only see these 10 year warranties on conduction vapes and not on any convection vapes? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  7. I assume they are outside then, nothing hiding underneath the leaves? From the quick google search I did earlier, it seems vegol works when sprayed onto the insect. Not sure just spraying the plant will stop the pests.
  8. Do us all a favour just buy one so we can get your opinion on it [emoji14] haha 10 year warranty too, same as the pax 3. I don't think any convection vape offers a similar warranty? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  9. @Delicious here is your saucy sauce! https://thevape.guide/pax-3-vs-davinci-iq-2-vs-crafty/ The IQ2 has adjustable airflow as well which not many herb vapes have, if any of them actually. So you can decide whether you want a tighter draw or air for days. That Ditanium seems pretty cool, bit of a long heat up, but probably awesome for a big gather of people which is obviously not allowed now during lockdown - unless you hire a taxi for you and your friends or want to take it with you to a funeral of course. Portable vape, I still quite like the idea of the IQ2 and wish I could just try it along with some other vapes to see how much of a difference there is. How does the flavour on the desktop vapes such as da buddah and ditanium ( @Ill_Evan ) compared to portable vapes?
  10. The chart on the bottle works pretty well, at least for coco. I am sure it would be the same for soil though. If you're about to flip to flower, then possibly use the pre-flower chart and once the stretch has stopped then go to the flowering chart dosages.
  11. Use water out of the tap and be done with it, no need to let it stand. The one is a fungicide, the other an insecticide. I have never used vegol myself, seems to be mainly canola oil... What pests do you have?
  12. The Lotus is fairly similar to the Vapor Genie and Dynavap I feel. I want something battery powered. I could possibly get away with something desk based, realistically... but then there are cables and the chances of it getting knocked off and breaking so I still would prefer something more portable. @Delicious I believe the IQ2 is conduction, but I stumbled upon a review on the Mighty Craft+ vs PAX 3 vs IQ2 andthe IQ2 came out tops. The Mighty Craft+ was 2nd. I see the original IQ got quite warm, I assume and hope its been fixed with the IQ2... seems like a nice piece of kit. Unlikely I will be getting a new vape anytime soon, maybe sometime next year. Should be more reviews out by then, possibly vapes too. See how the IQ2 does, but apparently flavour is pretty good on it.
  13. With all of the above being said, I just went to go look at an online store to see what other options are out there. The Davinci Miqro caught my attention and then the IQ 2 did as well - I believe both are conduction though... Does it really sacrifice the quality of the vape and the taste?
  14. So I think a good idea to start a new separate thread and not spam your sale thread @Delicious So the PAX 3 I used was quite nice, the one thing I did notice is that it did seem a bit stronger / more powerful than what I am use to and from what I recall. Like even at the same temp as the vape I currently use, the experience was very different. A lot more vapor and it was hotter / harsher. At the time I thought maybe my cheapy is not that accurate with temp control, but perhaps its more the difference of conduction vs convection. I do not smoke joints or bong, only vape and on occasion hit a dab (need to purge my stuff before I start dabbing again though). Flavour is very important to me, along with ease of use and battery life. Mostly the GF and I who share the vape and use it when at home. I have used @Ill_Evan Arizer ArGo which is pretty awesome, I love the fact that it uses 18650 batteries - easy to swap out and get replacements for. However there is no option to use dab with it, not sure I'd even use dab with it all that often but a nice to have feature. Also portability, its larger than the PAX but I think majority of other decent vapes will be larger than a PAX. If conduction is not the best for flavour and needs to have a tightly packed bowl, perhaps its not the ideal vape for me afterall. Perhaps i should look for something which uses convection instead - my current one is convection.
  15. Nice to see others vaping as well. Do you have any experience with a PAX 3 for interest sake? Curious to see how it compares to some of the others you have. Small, portable and versatile - big appeal for me. I believe it works well, a friend has one and I quite enjoyed the limited time I spent with it. Currently using a cheap chinese vape, but it gets the job done until I can justify spending the money on another vape which does the same as my current one - gets me high. My vapor genie has been retired as using a lighter is such a mission and I feel it would be a similar thing with the Dynavap.
  16. Remember that when you make seeds, it goes back to a lucky packet of sorts. It will introduce variance. Cutting will ensure its a clone / identical plant, seeds will not - you may need to dig in the seeds to find the pheno you're after.
  17. You can also test Ace chemicals. I think their silver nitrate is 25g min Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  18. I use coco and also use the blumat tropf carrots. I adjust it by eye and then monitor it to ensure its watering sufficiently. I don't bother measuring the soil and don't have anything to measure the soil either. I did try the carrots out with some Organics Matter soil when I first got them and did the same without issues, the plants seemed to love the dripper and regular feeding. I've had no issues with my plants while using the tropf carrots. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  19. I agree with@Totemic rather just make use of STS. I've used it a few times, really easy to work with. What is putting you off the STS route? There is a nice guide on steemit. I spray the whole plants, leaves and all. Never had issues with it not working for me. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  20. Haha, pre harvest turned into a mainline thread. I dunno how much of a difference a dark cycle before harvest makes really. Mainlining is something I've wanted to try for a while, might give it a go with my next grow. Although since I'll likely be working with clones it'll not be a true mainline. Mainline looks good, how much do you guys clean up your mainline plants when going into flower and during flower? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  21. Yipp, I noticed the same when I grew some autos. Even when growing photoperiods, the times g Are generally a bit shorter to make them seem more appealing. Looks good though. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  22. Nice, looks good. I have also dabbled with some LED strips, also Bridgelux and some Samsung strips. Although ultimately I still prefer my Quantum Boards - played around a bit with different forms of cooling for them too.
  23. Hard to say, lots of variables. Around a week though is what I generally end up with, some buds are a little wet and some a little drier. I pop them into a jar with boveda and if the rh is too high I leave the jar lid open for a while to help dry it out a bit more. Gotta monitor the ambient rh too though. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  24. Yeah, rosin press is cool but this dab was made from trim. Not sure a rosin press would work well on trim.
  25. I believe those use heat, so a big no no! Will ruin your terpenes and you'll end up with garbage. Also you do not want to dry the bud too quickly as it will also ruin the bud and you do not want to over dry it. EDIT: I find drying in a tent works really well, have some fans inside for air circulation (not blowing directly on the bud) and then if you can have a fan connected to a RH sensor so that if the RH is over a specific number then it turns on the fan to lower the RH to ensure your bud does not dry out too quickly and does not sit in a very humid environment which could lead to mold and such.
