  1. Yield does not look terrible. I think the EHG nutes are similar to Hortimix nutes which I have heard good things about and it's really well priced! If you wanted to increase yield and quality, I'd suggest using nutes and not just relying on the soil and bonemeal for nutrition and consider upgrading your lights at some point.
  2. This Bruce Banner makes some seriously frosty buds! Also the fade during flower looks good. @Master_G and I are flowering this Bruce Banner at the moment. I am sure @CreX's harvest will be nothing short of amazing from this little plant.
  3. I do not feel as if the early defoliation's had any negative effect on the plants, I do feel that the delay in doing the last defoliation of the large fan leaves had a negative effect on the plants. The bottom buds did not fill out as much.
  4. So once again, a COB a type of LED, Chip on Board. End of the day, the actual type of LED in place on the COB will ultimately determine the performance. Let's use cars as an example, think of COB as a hatch back and a Quantum Board as a sedan. There are many different hatch backs and sedans. Now think of comparing a Hyundai i10 (a certain type of COB) to an Audi RS3 (another type of COB). Both are hatchback cars but the RS3 has way more power than the i10. The same applies to Quantum boards, compare a Honda Civic Sedan to a BMW M3 - both are sedans (Quantum Boards) but once again the M3 has way more power. It really comes down to the type of LED, that is where the difference comes into play the most. Not so much the way the LED is implemented, although that can certainly have a difference too. One of the main advantages of a Quantum Board over a COB is the source of light. With a COB (or even an HID - be it CMH, MH or HPS) is that there is a single source of light. One light bulb / one LED. A Quantum Board has multiple light sources, the QB's I use have 288 LED's (some a few more) per Quantum boards and in my flower tent I am currently running 4. So that is 1152 LED's in total, 1152 sources of light. This makes a big difference. A simple example is to imagine yourself standing in a room, with 1 light infront of you. Now behind you there will be a shadow. If you add a 2nd light behind you, the shadow isn't as noticeable. It is heavily reduce and will vary depending on the position of the light. When it comes to LED's, the biggest factor in performance still comes down to the LED itself. A car is a car, it gets you places. Some will just do so quicker and with more comfort than others. The same rings true for LED's, an LED is an LED in the sense that they will both produce light although the amount of light which is produced will differ along with how much of that light the plants can actually make use of. The second part being the most important, one cannot judge an LED grow light just based on how much light it actually outputs, the plants need to be able to make use of the light.
  5. It's all about the diodes, Samsung make some great ones. Lm561c, lm301b, lm351h are all very popular diodes. Any of those will do fantastic in terms of growing and they all have high efficiency. I wouldn't bother with the CFLs. For clones they're fine, once the plant gets bigger you really want to move away. They're extremely inefficient actually, the power consumed and what the plant gets out of the light isn't great. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  6. If you purchases it from Takealot recently, you may still be able to return it. If you wanted to, although I'd only consider it if you are planning on upgrading to something better. I look at grow lights more as an investment, quality LED's will last you a long time. They are more efficient and therefore reduce your electricity bill and at the same time will help increase yield, leading to even better efficiency overall. 7. If you use it as medicine, it sounds as if it's needed. You have the choice of either growing your own, where you have the ability to grow whatever strain you want and chances are the quality will be far superior to what you would be purchasing. Upfront it may cost a bit more, however will be far cheaper than purchasing all the time and save you money in the long run. The second option is to take the money and buy bud. In the long run it will end up costing more, but will be cheaper short term.
  8. Soil makes a big difference, although light can make an even bigger difference. You need to try and simulate the sun in a way, not an easy task. If you have shit lights, but the best soil and nutes - your plants will still turn out shit. Without proper lighting your plants cannot produce food for themselves properly. Without proper lights, your plants may struggle with photosynthesis. IMO lights are probably one of the most important pieces of indoor grow equipment, without lights your plants wont flourish and may not even survive. Perhaps drop @CreX a PM regarding his HPS and see if he is still thinking about selling them. Then later on when circumstances are better, you can upgrade to some decent LED's. Alternatively, consider an outdoor grow until you can afford good lights.
  9. I'd personally rather use the "1000W" light than that 50W COB type of light. Although ultimately, it would be worth while to try and save up and get some decent LEDs. What is your budget? I know @CreX may consider selling his HPS and Nova LED's soon, perhaps you can make a plan with him.
  10. Where is the pic of the roots? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  11. I know! Mystery bagseed, cannot wait to try her out! I may even send some in to be tested to get an idea of her THC percent and consider breeding her with something else later on.
  12. Day 107 / Day 55 of Flower A quick update, some pics I took this morning before the lights came on. Tropicana FF: Bruce Banner - I had to rest the branches against the side of the tent as they are falling over: GDP: GSC, some pistils are starting to brown as well: Might as well do an update on my Chocolope if anyone is not following that grow diary. The pistils are also starting to brown:
  13. Looking great! Certainly very different compared to my Chocolope, a nice pheno you have there.
  14. Nice, keen to see how the cookie grow goes!
  15. The Chiquita Banana are not my seeds, although there was an extremely limited run of those seeds sold. I think only like 200 packs worldwide.
  16. All them plant pheromones, the terpenes!
  17. Those Gorilla's are looking very frosty already!
  18. The light coming in from the bottom would bother me, although give it a go and see. If the plant gets some light leaks, it may hermie.
  19. Day 102 / Day 50 of Flower So I started flushing my plants and did a flush with Florakleen on these babies. They are all 8 / 9 week flowering plants so should be ready for harvest around the same time. I snapped some pics while flushing them, excuse the poor picture quality but the lighting was not ideal and I was trying to get the flushing done as quickly as possible. GSC: Bagseed / Tropicana FF: GDP: Bruce Banner #3: CBD Critical Mass: All the ladies back into their tent, RH is going to sky rocket I am sure. The soil is holding a looot of water still. They're heavy AF!
  20. Oh I see, I misunderstood. I saw the pic and it looked as if you were trying to clone it with the disc and all. haha
  21. Never tried with a bud, although the top's are less likely to root, take longer and tend to go soggy in my bubble cloner. If they go soggy, I throw them out. Keep us posted though.
  22. I think you are going to have a hard time doing this, I think a lot of the roots will get damaged during the repotting as there are other plants and chances are the roots are intertwined with one another. If you are happy to take the risk and put in some effort trying to separate her from the rest. Although you really do not want to stress a plant during flower. I say, you can try repot her as an experiment to see what happens. Otherwise rather reveg her and if you want to repot her, doing so while she is vegging is better - but if you wait the roots will just continue to grow, making it harder. You can cut off a lot of the roots and then repot later though and then let her continue to veg and form more roots again.
  23. That is far from ready still, let it reveg I'd say.
  24. I saw it, and looked into it briefly too although the CBD content is lower than the Charlottes Angel. Ringo's is around 10% where the Charlottes Angel is 15%, seems you can even get CBD upto 21% on the Charlottes Angel. Both have THC below 1% The Ringo's Gift also sounds like a smaller plant, being rated at upto 350g/m2 where other plants are around 650 / 700g/ m2
