It's a strange wonderland of grey area. The entire Constitutional Court judgement in 2018 originated from a Rastafari lawyer who wanted to smoke cannabis and still practice law, but because how the law works, if you defy the law, you technically can't be a lawyer. So on a fundamental principal of privacy, they ruled that people in South Africa may consume cannabis in private. Even so, it is not legal, because they haven't written the laws and regulations yet. But also, it is not illegal, because the relevant laws which previously dictated the illegality of consuming cannabis have been suspended. It is 100% still illegal to sell cannabis though... [did someone say donation?] So insurance, for example, can do whatever their internal policies dictate because nothing has been made concrete yet.

The ZxP and Gorilla Zkittlez are both midway through flower. Looking at how the plants have grown so far, I probably could have removed a few more branches from the bottom, and I could have raised the net a bit more. Jirre you think you account for it and you actually didn't. At least I don't have to tie up every branch to stop them flopping around. Speaking of bottom branches, the KmintZ plants have got some fat foliage at the bottom. They will come very handy when it comes time to take some clones. I think I will do that in the new week. Veg tent also looking power. I've got some straggler ZxP clones from like late December/early January in one propagator, and the freshly cut ZxP from yesterday in the other. I might actually chuck the stragglers now that I think about it. Then I've got the six Wedding Cake seedlings, six ZxP seedlings, another two ZxP mothers, and one more Gorilla Zkittlez mother. El Plan is the ZxP and WC seedlings will replace the ZxP and Gorilla Zkittlez currently flowering, then I will take KmintZ clones next week, then Gorilla Zkittlez clones from the one mother the week after that, then ZxP from the older mother of the two a week after that. This should spread out the harvests between a week each come harvest time. This is my attempt at actually timing this shit right for once. I came from Eazyplugs, and they sure were easy! I would buy the 50 plug bulk bags and just reuse the trays, but I couldn't find any more bulk bags so I switched to the Jiffies.

Everyone seems to be on the glue plugs. I must give it a try.

I went ahead and took a dozen clones off of the one ZxP mother I had sitting around. I went back to the diary and saw the Wedding Cake clones rooted in exactly 3 weeks. I can work with that timeframe, so we will see now how these ZxP do. I'm starting to take clones from much more developed mothers/plants and keeping a bit more foliage than I usually do. I also give the Jiffies a young squeeze so the stems aren't just sitting in stagnant water within the JIffies. It seems to have worked nicely with the WC clones.

Wedding Cake clones have rooted nicely. It might have taken a month, but they look strong and healthy. They have been transplanted into small pots to continue rooting, pics below. I currently have the KmintZ in the flowering tent I can still clip some clones from, then I have two ZxP and one Gorilla Zkittlez mothers to also clip some clones from. These mothers were not planned, they were extra clones that I just shaped into mother plants that I could clip later just in case. I am trying to start only taking clones from plants that are in the flowering tent just before they go into preflower so I can try free up some space in the veg tent. So the line-up from after the KmintZ harvest will be Wedding Cake -> ZxP -> Gorilla Zkittlez -> KmintZ -> ? After another round of KmintZ I am hoping to maybe have a fresh pack of seeds of something something.

I'm not sure why one would do this apart from maybe space considerations, but there is a fault in the drawing, I don't think you will ever be able to pipe through a tray/aquavalve without some serious thinking and alterations to the trays/aquavalve. You really can only go from reservoir to tray, and not from reservoir to a tray, and thorugh that tray to another tray. I really don't see that hapenning based on how the aquavalve system works. But if you're using the autopots as per normal and certain rows of trays are lower than others, but all still remain lower than the reservoir, the system will work.

Big or small, I think there should be as many events as possible. I like the vibe this particular event is trying to set, I think all the numbers are manageable and also chill.

Also remember, the Constitutional Court gave parliament 2 years to implement the relevant laws and regulations. That was September 2018. The State of Disaster has most certainly slowed the process, but I also think it became a bigger task for them when they started getting deeper into the proverbial weeds. We are really in a strange place at the moment. We got the legacy growers who already had the necessary capital at the time the SAHPRA medical research license came about and they jumped on that, or alternatively they chose to remain in the shadows. Then the encroaching hobby sector that are pushing the line between personal craft and commercial operation. We also have hydroponic stores popping up nearly every week, some just straight up sell weed under the counter, others take the growers club model and pay memberships and are "donated" their sections. Lastly, every now and then there's a 420 café or event that pops up. I just don't see how dropping any legislation now is going to stop this beast that has been unleashed. Unless they relaunch the war on drugs in a very real way, to the point of putting real government money into it, I don't see them winning. They really gotta adapt to the reality that this plant has been integral to this land for centuries. It's not going away, and won't be controlled in the way that they want. There is also a general angst developing towards our government. Not just in the cannabis industry, but in all walks in life, people are getting tired of the nonsensical decisions and greed within our political leaders. Law and order is cool, but just remind yourself how we got here.

That shit looks like the dream. As far as I am concerned, on paper, you can spin that farm into within the limits of what the current white paper regulations provide for. At a push, he could even get a few mates to say that he grows for them on their behalf because he has the land and they do not. If he hasn't got any other kak on the property, isn't stealing electricity/water, and pays his rates and taxes, I doubt anyone will give problems. ...unless they a rat.

KmintZ are in! There are four KmintZ and two supporting ZxP. They looking fresh and ready for their flowering journey. I gave them all a nice douse of spinosad before going in just as a preventative to the latest little stint of thrips, of which I saw none of when checking tonight. I got a little fright when looking for more PWM, but it turns out it was just dry milk on the leaves that I rubbed yesterday. Lol me. Seems to always be the case, the cops never just stumble on these operations, there's always some doos ratting you out. Although it also seems these guys were a bit too trusting about who they sold to.

I don't think there will be any difference. Autopot themselves recommend either is fine.

Hailea ACO-208. It does 35l/m which is more than enough for each pot. It comes with a 6 way splitter. You then split from each of the splits another 3 ways. Then you got your 18 outlets (for my setup).
