I believe it's more for very aggressive plants or strains. The leca they recommend for you to put at the bottom of the pots is so that if the roots get too keen on space, you won't risk the drainage holes getting clogged. It's very beneficial for the system to be able to fully drain the pots before it feeds via the aquavalve again. As long as this is achieved, with or without leca, you should be good. In other words, as long as you're not using straight up clay, I think most mediums will be fine. I personally like using this technique because with the addition of the airdomes which I use, I feel the roots are getting the best of both worlds with a healthy medium to retain moisture, and the space at the bottom between the leca to suck up that good O2, plus never having to worry about drainage being an issue. However it's also important then to use the root control discs in the trays and the matrix sheet inside the pot to stop any dirt or dust getting past the leca and messing with the aquavalve.

The Cannabis Lords continue to test me with the Gorilla Zkittlez I went into the flower tent for a good bit and wiped any spots of PWM with a paper towel and a mixture of 1 parts milk and 3 parts water, both the tops and bottoms of any affected leaves. I am 95% sure I've gotten the worst of it. Then guess who I find chilling under some leaves, some fokin thrips babies having a lekker chow. It was one of few leaves that had them, so it's early. I then gave all the Gorilla Zkittlez a misting of Spinosad, tops and bottoms of the plants, while they are still in early flower. That should execute the pests for the most part. Then I turn around, and not a single care is being given by any of the ZxP. They are all just styling, chilling, asking howzit. No mildew, no pests. I'm starting to think some plants are not as equal as others Lesson of the story, check your plants, fix things early.

Show me which pen you got, there's a difference between EC and PPM. If you had an EC of 5000 you'd basically be feeding a brick of salt with no water We favor EC over PPM, so if you can, keep your records in EC. With TA Tripart, you usually want to be around 1.6 EC when growing, and maybe push to 2.0 EC when hitting flower. I see you're halfway through flower, so 2.0 would be where you want to be.

Autopots and trays prepped and ready! Here is also a picture of how the roots grow into the airdomes for that good oxygen injection straight into the plant veins. I like to just about cover the airdomes with leca pebbles and then fill up with a 60/40 mix of leca pebbles and coco. I find this allows for very easy drainage for the aquavalves to cycle between feed and stop, but also allows for just enough moisture in the medium for the first week where I am still top feeding.

Today I am busy prepping the AutoPots for the KmintZ. While I was in the flower tent I noticed some PWM developing on some leaves of the Gorilla Zkittlez. It has literally been so long since I've had PWM that it caught me by some surprise. No PWM on the ZxP, which to me was initially strange because the ZxP is much bushier and to me it has better conditions to harbor PWM more easily, but then again the ZxP has never had PWM itself. It's a bit concerning for the Gorilla Zkittlez, I've removed any leaves that has any PWM but I'll probably give it another run through tonight.

I know of only one place that rents them and that's a place called Hydro Cult in Moreleta Park in Pretoria. This was before the pandemic though and I haven't been there since, but the point is that there are places that would rent them out.

It's definitely a solution for quantity in my opinion. If you're a one-man operation doing more than one big flower tent at a time and you don't have the hours in the day to do the big trim work, it's definitely a helper. I can imagine that the trim you get out of a Trim Bag will have more trichomes come out with it due to the method used. So you might lose some trichomes on your buds, which at the end of the day might be quite negligible in terms of its effect or high, but you'll gain somewhat with your trim I think.

The KmintZ are looking powerful. Shouldn't be too long now before I put them into the flower tent. I am keeping the majority of the lower branches for now in preparation to take clones to line them up for the next one.

Picked up a Autopot setup myself not too long ago now. So far it has been a game changer for me. Just the ability to shave down hours of watering and feeding into a quick 20-minute session for all my plants. I also went for the airdomes for all the 15L Autopots I use. I started growing cannabis in the beginning using DWC so the ability to mix the best of both worlds while still using a solid medium was too much to pass up. I am very impressed with the system so far.

That'd be super appreciated my man if they don't want to release that information, that will be understandable as well.

What diodes are the 'white light' diodes? For example, the traditional 240W quantum board has 3000k Samsung lm301b diodes [if you're not buying a knockoff] and does not usually come with additional IR or UV diodes. My question is excluding the additional 'red light' diodes in the Gavita LED, I'd like to know what the 'white light' diodes are, and also their Kelvin would great.

I was inviting @Green Leaf Organics to comment. -
Great to see, which institution is this via? I am in agreement here. Frankly, any regulated system our government attempts to enforce will be largely skewed in favour of established corporations or individuals with large capital. We are most definitely going in the right direction in regards to personal freedoms regarding the plant, I do feel that within the next 5 years at the very least nobody will be arrested for anything cannabis related on a personal level. Anybody skilled enough to produce cannabis and wishes to do so for personal financial upliftment should be allowed, and y'know what? They will do so now and after whatever legislation is established. It is not the cannabis industry that must catch up to government, but much rather the opposite.

Wishing you the best of luck my man. I've actually low-key been checking on MyShrooms and the PF Tek methods and such for a little while now and am watching your journey from a distance. If it goes well I might jump on it too

@Green Leaf Organics is my go-to extract guy around these parts. It would be interesting to hear your take on the above. -
The deficiency on all the Gorilla Zkittlez seems to have resolved. The whole tent is looking pretty good at the moment. We are in week 3 of flowering. Gorilla Zkittlez Zkittlez x Purple Punch ..and now, some bud pics for @John Stonedwell these are from the previous ZxP harvest, cured now two weeks.

Don't worry, you got the right one Hard water version is for if you are at the coast, or use minerally rich water such as from a bore hole.

Don't worry, these guns are on safety.

Powder nutes can be great, but from what I have read it is easier to use when you are going in at large quantities, like commercial scale. Powder nutes are ultimately cheaper in the long run when compared to liquid nutes, and they take much less space. I too have simply had a easier experience with GHE liquid nutes so I've kinda just stuck to it. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some FloraFlex powder nutes at some point though...

Update on the deficiency on the Gorilla Zkittlez. Three of them have bounced back well, two are still in the swing of bouncing back and one seems to be struggling just a bit, but yellowing has stopped progressing. I have given the three plants that are lagging another round of top feed. I think this will get the job done on the two, and I will just need to keep an eye on the one straggler.
