Hey Sticky_Buddha, Welcome to the community
  2. I would suggest check with Jamie about the batch in question. I know he has made various batches and my batch specific was very heavy in lime. As a result of no cooking due to inexperience and lack of knowledge, I placed in my babies in this uncooked soil, as a result they got screwed, excuse the pun. Jamie did give me some aact to help with the settling of the soil. It took a few doses and I managed to save 2, 1 unfortunately died, the stress was most probably to much. :'( What I did. I was fearing the worst, having babied my little ones from seed and experiencing its own set of ball aches, I was determined not to lose them. Took cuttings from all of them, as backup. All of this obviously threw a major spanner in the works to my timeline and schedule. Those cuttings are currently in flower. When in doubt take cuttings, lol I will admit at the time, it wasn't cool at all. BUT did I not go through all those testing times I would not have gained that experience which is priceless IMO. My best advice, dont let bad experiences get you down. Use it as an opportunity to learn, if you fail, you know you wont make the same mistake again. Big plus is 420SA and all its members to help you along the way. Happy growing.
  3. Dont worry GLO, I am crazy too When I started my organic process I never knew what was out there on a microscopic level helping the world go around. I too started appreciating nature and all its wonder. I can actualy feel my fingers turning green
  4. I thought Ill share some insightful Alan Watts quotes. "Man suffers only because he takes seriously what the gods made for fun.” “To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don’t grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float.” “If you really understand Zen… you can use any book. You could use the Bible. You could use Alice in Wonderland. You could use the dictionary, because… the sound of the rain needs no translation.” “The problem comes up because we ask the question in the wrong way. We supposed that solids were one thing and space quite another, or just nothing. Then it appeared that space was no mere nothing, because solids couldn’t do without it. - But the mistake in the beginning was to think of solids and space as two different things, instead of as two aspects of the same thing. The point is that they are different but inseparable, like the front end and the rear end of a cat. Cut them apart, and the cat dies.” “You are the big bang, the original force of the universe, coming on as whoever you are.” “How is it possible that a being with such sensitive jewels as the eyes, such enchanted musical instruments as the ears, and such fabulous arabesque of nerves as the brain can experience itself anything less than a god.”
  5. Good luck with the grow Heisenberg
  6. Yeah i was shocked beyond belief the level of ignorance. I was almost tempted snort a line of dagga and put on some EDM (evil dagga music) to chill.
  7. For all those who loves satire. Check out this Facebook page. - Its hilarious.
  8. Welcome OnlyTheGood to the forum. Looking forward to your input
  9. Most hydro stores should sell it. Check Growguru, Hortishop or Hydroponic.co.za It should be good for veg but feeding during this time can only be beneficial. That's the beauty of organics. The plant only uses what it needs. All strains are different with different nutritional needs. So look at what your plant needs and supplement accordingly.
  10. Thanks for that GLO. I was told by a nursery actually throw boiling water in the soil to kick start decomposition. I have noticed the water droplets from the steam against the lid of my container and normally when I handle the soil its quite warm.
  11. Personally I keep mine in the shade as the container is black. I can imagine that it will heat up if exposed to sun for hours on end. I dont feed my soil while its cooking. I only feed my plants. The ACCT is stimulate the microbe activity in the soil and help with the decomposition of the hot matter.
  12. I agree with GLO. I use 2 of those 220v 12cm ones. Just connect a plug and you good to go.
  13. I have used Jamies Garden orgasoilux. It contains all the neccesasary additive for 3 - 6 months. So IMO no additional additives to be added. Cooking is essential to ensure you dont burn your plants. Lesson learnt. Keep it in breathable containers. Toss the whole load out very couple of weeks and give it a good stir. Spray some AACT on it and work it through. Make sure its moist but never waterlogged. You will notice an amonia smell when its hot. When its ready your soil should be a consistent texture and great earthy smell. Biobizz is an organic fertiliser. I have been using it with my organic setup and the plants are loving it. If you search the topic biobizz on this forum you will see there are many discussion around this topic.
  14. Nice Heisenberg, Can you remove the internal partitioning to give more horizontal space. Will you be growing Scrog in that space due to height limitations?
  15. Any 12v power supply should do it. Old cellphone charger or a pc psu.
  16. I was at 2 here in Cape Town. Sable Sqaure's one they have changed LEDs so no CFLs there. I found a small China Town at N1 City Value centre next to Virgin Active. They had. My current setup. Extremely basic but effective.
  17. Just on CFL options to consider. CFL physical size changes as the watt output gets higher. Looking at your design and what you intend to do. Calculate the maximum length allowed (including socket) should you put them together as per your configuration. I hope Im making sense? I bought some Chinese CFLs (40w) 6500k for R40, using about a 6 months no issues. China Town
  18. Yeah man, I love how creative the guys get with microgrows.
  19. Yeah I can echo 420sa's comments. I also started researching my ass off on various lighting solutions. Given the promise of LED and associated marketing + numerous players providing poor quality products. I fell into the trap bought a Chinese brand multi band led grow light (81X3w). Been using it a year now, good for veg and flower and no issues. R2000 incl shipping and customs at the time which i thought was a reasonable price for what I got. I am currently using HID and led together in flowering and they doing the job fine, IMO Should I experience issues with my LED then Im fooked, so at the stage in the life if LEDs in SA i would say go with HID purely based on availability and less downtime should a problem occur.
  20. Hey young OG and welcome to community.
