hi gino, welcome to the forum. natural is the way to go.

Have you looked at various training techniques for your plants? It will help against the wind blowing your plants over. I would play around with different techniques on the number of random plants you have. See what work best, then apply it when you plant some quality strain in the future. A nice training ground. That's just IMHO.

Excellent input, much appreciated. Ideally I would like 2 strains going at once, but due to space factors, I might just do one but 2 plants. I need to reevaluate my plan and see what needs to be tweaked.

DWC is correct yes. When you say hassles, what type of hassles? Nute imbalance, res temp? I was planning to maybe have a sunken shelf for the container and have reflective film on the top of the container to deflect the light and heat. Any suggestion to ensure res temp consistent?

Cool thanks, I have mod my spread sheet to include rectangular dimensions for circle sizes. So instead of intake holes I can make intake strips. Either or same effect just based on what tools are available.

Yeah, thats all I have been doing for the last couple of months. Research and some more research, chatting to peeps and using all that info for my environment and circumstances. So far so good. Im busy building my grow box. 400w ballast MH & HPS bulbs light fitting (busy modding for aircooling) 15cm squirrel cage fan air pump 23cm oscillating fan to get still addis container all my growing requirements. nutes and accessories. Planning to start end / mid Jan 15 in the new environment. Will go into full detail of my setup when complete.

No I have not. It will be in a small grow cab. I have done loads of research on the matter and feel confident to tackle it. Growing small scale to wet my feet.

HI all, Im planning on getting two clones. DNA Genetics - Training day Big Buddha - Blue Cheese My intention is to grow them hydroponically. For those who have experience with these strains, what obstacles should i look out for and also what you have done to correct it? Im trying to plan my grow as best as i can?

Hi Scotene, welcome to the forum. I am a baker myself. Regular making cannaoil for my baking. Maybe we could exchange some recipes?

The holes will be in the floor as passive intakes. The intention for my setup is to have a fake floor. The base will have the calculated intake holes with filter to prevent insects and other elements getting into my box. The first shelf about 4cm away will be the floor for my plants also with intake holes. There will no light leaking through. To add to the equation, I will be running a 400HID with a DIY vented hood + scrubber. Im in the construction phase at the moment. I shall post pics when complete. Thanks for input Maxwell. Like you said finding the right tool for the job can be expensive. My formula basically let you calculate the number of holes that will make up the area of 15cm but doubled. So a lot of small holes that equals the one big hole. A basic example. If you want a 15cm hole its not the same a making 15 1cm holes. The total area of the 15 holes is not the same as the area of the 15cm hole.

Hi guys, I thought ill share what I have come up with going through tons of websites trying to work out a formula for air circulation. The general rule is that your exhaust should be extract 2-3 times the amount of air that is being let in via an inlet to maintain negative pressure. Most of us will use an extractor / inline fan to extract the air out of our space. The hole is usually round, ie. 6"/15cm, 4"/10cm, etc. How many and what size holes do I need for my given extractor size? That is the question that got me? After much considerations and various trial and error formulas, I am using area()² as the measurement factor. I have set up an excel spread sheet that you are welcome to download and insert your info. Basically you will be inserting the diameter of your fan and the number holes required. It will produce the size of the holes. An example Fan size 15cm 9 holes required 7cm holes So for a 15cm fan I need make 9 holes at 7cm per hole. The area of the 9 holes should be = to double the area of the 15cm? I hope I am making sense? Please feel free to analyse my findings and provide input if you feel I have overlooked certain variables? input_vs_exhaust_calculator.xlsx

I grew out some of GSR's seeds with good results actually. They were what they were meant to be... I dealt with them over Whatsapp and they were relatively helpful and quick to respond but I can only speak for myself... In all honestly though I'd recommend going overseas for seeds firstly because in most cases it works out cheaper and you know what you're getting is coming from a reputable seed bank. When you say sensible are you talking about original sensible? thanks for the feedback. yeah I was referring to original sensible http://original-ssc.com/ ill give them a go and post feedback of my experience here.

Very nice Totemic, very similar to my intention. Im acquiring my gear still. Love the diy vented hood concept. Do you think by using a 15cm extraction fan on similar hood with a 400w hps and a diy carbon filter will suffice for a grow box of (1200mmX600mmX450mm) in a hydroponics environment? With the above in mind, I would like to maintain negative pressure by having the correct passive intake ports in the floor. Also temp and humidity control would be a big factor. Being ANALytical im trying to grow virtually, identifying potential pitfalls I might encounter along the way in my grow environment. Cost is always an issue so rather see what i need when i need as to buy as i need.

Hi GSR seed buyers. I wonder if you guys could shed some light on your overall experience dealing with them? Hows their customer service? Are communication open and free flowing? I see they post updates on their Facebook page of all their new stock that have arrived, but dont see that updates reflected on the website. I have emailed their info- & jordan at greensmoke requested their current seed list but nothing is forthcoming. Im of the opinion to go with sensilble wait 2 weeks and have peace of mind then wait 2 days for limited options. What is your opinion on this matter?

Cool, I will summarise all the info I have and share here.

Hi all, Im new here on this forum. I am from Cape Town and I love the the herb. I have been doing tons of research into growing indoors and hopefully I can contribute my experience with all y'all. At the moment Im doing research on CFL's vs HPS for a small grow box. (1.2mX.06MX0.45)
