@Dank Too true... yeah I'm also blazing like a king. It really is hard at times making that choice of what I want to smoke and I love it. I wish my variety on everyone. And the flavours keep adding up. Found 2 terpine packed phenos this round that are so tasty. Check these ladies rushing for some of that watermelon... day 10 in the dome. They already in their solo cups and ready to be topped. Awaiting flower room to come down so we can kick off but don't look like my gals want to finish anytime this year...

Always best to take pics with grow lights off. Shows overall health better. The plant is looking healthy and happy. Maybe inspect that top better for bugs with a loupe although highly unlikely. You probably damaged it by mistake or something. You still in early flower, I would just cut off the damaged part of that top. You should be experiencing alot of rapid growth you won't even notice it missing in a week or 2. Also just make it a habit to check the Ph of the runoff when ever you start seeing anything weird.

@SuMi Buddy could be 1 of many things... Lights too close, underwatering, the branch could be almost snapped at its base and many many other causes. Maybe share some more info so the guys here can offer accurate advice. A full pic of the plant. How long since flip? Are all the tops showing this issue? What, how and when you feed? How often? What medium you using? Ph and ec? Lighting? Grow room temps, etc? Is this plant closest to your circulation fan? How any plants you have and how many affected?

@Dank I really enjoy being part of this forum, it's surely a sign of the community that's slowly growing in sa. There's just one disappointing trait that a few here have and it's really off putting. People that are associated with cannabis are usually the coolest blokes on the block and appreciate life and each other's contributions. Here there are those that are hell bent on proving others wrong at every chance instead of lighting one up and sharing their views in a decent manner. It has on a few occasions made me feel that I should just go about my business on my own in the shadows like I've done for many years. But then there are guys like you that show there is hope for growing this into something bigger. Kind souls that see the bigger picture and motivate others. Keep being the person you are. I think there's sufficient info in these links showing triacontanol as an ingredient in bloom boosters and it's benefits. I may have made a mistake with mentioning big bud, I should have said alot of the leading bloom boosters because that was the point I was making. Why would I need controlled group testing. I'm doing it for personal knowledge and for those interested. I don't plan on writing a thesis on triacontanol. We are here to learn from each other and not prove each other wrong. I don't question anyone's growing abilities here cos quite honestly it's very easy to grow. I started this thread to show something I found interesting. I tried looking for answers on dosage and never found anything concrete. Hence the testing. I'm going to flower these out and check the end products quality compared to how it usually is. One thing I take out of this is my keepers that stretch like crazy always mess up my canopy and fall over. I now may have found a way to limit their stretch. I don't document things like this cos it's often testing that's started spontaneously when I have extra plants. I always veg more plants then I need and move the best to flower. The remaining get given away, tested on or culled. I'm always offering clones here to whoever wants. I'm all about sharing so give me a chance to share without trying to prove me wrong and if I'm wrong be cool about and let me know.

I agree with being rough with it you lose alot. I don't handle my buds or move them around alot once they hanging. I don't even trim my buds

You just asked me a question in the triacontanol that you have asked me before. We have to keep asking until we try it ourselves then we won't forget.

@PsyCLown I add it to my res @ 0,2ml/200 ltr. Can't say I've noticed a difference as yet but the foliar benefits makes me believe it must be doing something for the roots. I didn't document the side by side. I once leaf stripped 2 clones of the same mother very aggressively all the fan leaves off. The plant sprayed with triacontanol recovered extremely fast. Super fast. And grew bushy and twice in size. I'm pretty clued up on what I yield with my keepers so I quickly saw its benefit in yield. I add 1% triacontanol everytime I foliar feed with whatever else I choose kelp etc. I've done it both weekly and 2 weekly up until day 7 flower and haven't noticed a difference between the 2. My plants in veg atm I've only sprayed twice so far as I don't want them 2 bushy as I'm doing a decent sized pheno hunt.

Yeah I agree. Was merely motivating that the cupboard can be transformed into something worthy of flowering and he shouldn't dis or let anyone dis his cupboard. Personally I do both, no issues. But I will admit outdoor is more forgiving and alot less work. I only tend to my outdoor plants just before I jump into the shower. I have a phobia of garden hitchhikers.

Triacontanol is not illegal. It is used in many crops. I think you mistaking this for something synthetic and banned perhaps. I'm not going to go search for the link now or post pictures I don't have. A few things have showed me the difference i.e. vegetative growth rate, bounce back from major defoliation and grams/watt. Before you ask I'm not going to share what I yield. I take pics to post here for people to see and so we can all learn together. I got nothing to prove, my garden speaks for itself. If you find some information that can correct anything I've stated please share so I can learn too... everyday is a new day with new things to learn

You said it was a well known fact that's why I asked. I haven't noticed any difference at transplant when I used in a drench. Foliar feed definitely shows huge spike in growth. Big bud.... It doesn't say it on the label but the information is available online.

Share with me at which stage of a plants life would it have adverse effects. It would save me alot of time from all the testing I'm doing. This was a demonstration of an overdose. I flower under 1000W HPS so everything thing is high flow. I've done plenty of testing between using it correctly against not using it.

Why? Not sure how to answer that but I'll tell you this. I've already been using it for a while now at the correct dosage and it's increased plant vigour, health and yield. Just thought I'd share an overdose for those that are using or planning on using it. Flowering additives like big bud etc all have triacontanol in it. Also people use alfalfa meal in their compost teas which is also a source of triacontanol. I also spray my plants with Afrikelp 10x Amino K Seabrix All have triacontanol in it. So ultimately the biggest benefit would be its a photosynthesis facilitator and increases crop production.

Yeah definitely stunted them. They just test plants so I was more interested in seeing if it effects its gender hormones.

@CreX So I'm guessing you spraying the milk/water mix in flower right? Cos that's when you most likely to get pm. Doesn't it turn the pistils brown? I would love to give it a try when I spot pm again.

Both these plants usually grow very tall.

Plant growth regulators So I've always wondered about the reasoning behind the low doses triacontanol is recommended to be sprayed at which is about 1ml/10litres... So I've run a test on 2 plants. Sprayed them at 10ml/10litres once every week for 4 weeks in veg. Didn't take pics cos it was just a personal experiment. Seeing the results this far makes me want to share it. I've already removed tons of branches due to how thick and short it has started flowering at.

I didn't play around to much with the spraying of h2o2 to cure issues. I sprayed some outdoor plants for pm and . It turned the pistils brown. The pm came back in a few days. So I've always afterwards only used it for sterilization and not against pests. I once had drain flies living in my dwc. I use to remove plants from their buckets and spray the insides, the net pot, under the cover etc. They just came back. So then I use to put the whole root ball and net pot into a h2o2/water mix to try kill larvae in the hydroton/rockwool. They didn't do any damage, it was just freaky seeing larvae swimming in the res. So I bought some neem and it solved the problem one time. Nowadays I use a handful of different organic pesticides and I try to spray veg plants once a week sometimes every 2 weeks. I dropped the ball recently before Christmas and didn't spray my guinea pig plants and wait a day. I noticed very minor thrip damage in flower room so I just mixed 2 products and sprayed all my veg plants as preventative. Ended up burning all new growth tips and young leaves. I was pissed with myself. Sprayed on Christmas day with a little amino-K and they recovering well. Just my 2c, when you can afford to, buy an organic pesticide even if it's just neem.

@Mr_Nice_Guy Buddy I'm off the opinion that with a little more work you can turn that into a perfectly fine grow cupboard and take atleast 2 plants seed to harvest. It needs a hole for passive intake maybe bottom left. It needs an active exhaust i.e. the same pc fan you have, somewhere on the top back maybe. Make both holes the size of the inside of the fan. Bottom hole put some sort of small cover on the outside that blocks light from the top & sides and sucks air from the bottom. Some sort of net by the hole as a filter to stop small critters To seal light leaks is extremely easy. Buy the black foam type weather seal strip. Checkers, pick n pay all sell it. So squeeze yourself inside and get someone to close it. Then just stick it on the inside where you see the light by the hinges etc and on the door side too so both touch when doors are closed. Mount 2 hooks to the roof for a light to hang from. You can be quiet imaginative with the bottom e.g. auto draining tray, makes watering the plants a happy task every single time. Use the light you have for now for propagation and just upgrade it to something a little better when you can. Aircon places sell a cheap insulation foam board that's reflective that would really beneficial to avoid condensation. You can do that later on too. You will be amazed how once your cupboard is running how you start looking for little upgrades everytime you take the wife/gf shopping. Anyway my opinion is based on personal experience and your cupboard is alot more larnee then in what I started. And please the most important thing is use decent genetics.

It's good that it's working for you. Unfortunately I've had little success with it against any pests or pm.

O yeah hydrogen peroxide is quite plant and res friendly. Forgive my stupidity but what's the purpose of that spray. I've only ever used peroxide in dwc in my res as a preventative against algae and pythium.

@CleanGreen Well done on the new addition to your garden. Enjoy the spraying while it is still fun... Have to admit it will soon become one of those tedious tasks that has to be done... I would recommend you make a shield to cover your net pots when spraying to avoid getting any into your res and do yourself one favour, keep the little packet of o-rings and seals that comes in the box safe. Lastly don't burn your plants, even with experience I've done it because I've been complacent and not done test sprays.
