  1. Larger than life man of the green of herb. What a terrible year 2020 has been. Miss chatting with Jules, giving me straight down the line advice, or a laugh, a story. Happy belated birthday Jules.
  2. Saw your attempted hijacking @Heteropyxis and thought of creating a thread about running while high. Its something I have loved doing for zonks. 21km on 400mg in your time is unreal. I am a bush runner and dont do edibles before a run anymore, however my experience many years ago ( 1997 ) was cool and fairly fun. Was asked to take mate to the airport, on the way, hey here some banana bread, munched two pieces myself. Dropped him off, said bon boyage, got home and decided to go for a run as nothing was kicking in. I ran through rush hour traffic almost in the CBD of JHB, was not very used to space cakes, it felt like I was running on air, my sweat was not touching my skin, but a few millimetres off it. It was a mind f#Ik of note. Loved and hated it. Usually I just go for a bush run ,5 -10km max now after a joint. Nice and sensible. Just some interesting information about athletes and cannabis. One of my clients and friends from the states was the 2nd biggest donor to the daggaparty.org.za for voting registrations a couple years ago. Heard about the cause and said where do I pay. Top guy, gun and athlete.
  3. I definetly live on a different planet. I am a couple years too early. I will be here till the end of my days when we can grow/smoke in absolute freedom. I dont really give a shit about the industry, of course its going follow every industry and become an establishment. The activists crying about Dischem selling legal pot now is another ridiculous "cause". Its fnnn wonderful, just like Cannapax was, just like Green Dragon is. These are the risk takers, the guys with balls, that all need support for the development of an industry. Its going to happen with or without stoners/homegrowers/activists. A guy acted suspiciously just yesterday after trying to find me to buy a pool table. He did not realise someone was watching them from the bushes while collecting. He asked about my san pedros while loading, I did give him a cactus as a kind of conscious peace offering and silently wished him well. Strange days, people do weird shit, so my back is up. That is how much I trust. The argument on Sunday night on our local whatsapp forum helped me put things into perspective again. There are many hypocrits out there, and they can be dangerous, cause a lot of grief out there for hippy home growers who just want a chilled life. I mean i was laughing at all the banter, mis information, it was coming from a current pusher in town selling his pure CBD isolate, "according to him is the best medicine out there, and real medicine". Then we have the alcohol, religious, prescription pusher shouting about it all starts with weed and you end up on the street with harder drugs, and then in the morning you have the local "fake hippy" f*9jtard snitching on the other dealers in town. I wanted to ask him how much he is flogging a gram of bush weed for now. In the meantime all of them were probably pissed or recovering from hangovers, pushing their own agenda's, and every single one of them was way off the mark about CBD/THC, even with the help of google, sharing links. Still a long way to go and looking forward to the journey. Haters, hypocrits and bat shit crazies eat my kief.
  4. Yeah unfortunately our local town is attracting fake hippies with dreads, who belittle others at their own game. Sad to see the business people who dont even grow or smoke get involved in cannabis, but it was inevitable, and I guess the development of the industry in a professional way. I have unfortunately and finally taken that stance. I loved helping others for many years and probably still will. But yeah, if you not paying me to live my life, I cannot help. Very sad experience recently with one of our local canna groups, like a loving dog that gets beaten when it goes to its owner, finally decided to distance myself and move along swiftly. But bottomline is to canna life you want to live, dont pay tax, grow what you want, plant it everywhere and if you dont like cannabis, you wont like the future.
  5. Cant disagree with your words, and yes it is a great local community. Watching overseas is like watching the future of SA though, about 5 years ahead. I used to say 10 years, but that gap is closing. But it is also the world, it seems countries watch developments in the USA and adapt their policies after. Hoping to get to the USA soon, just wish this pandemic would blow over. Stay safe.
  6. Looking grand bud, nothing better than eating and smoking from your garden. Just a heads up, looks like your watermelon has early signs of powdery mildew, and if so, that stuff infects everything.
  7. Just a quick word about cannabis and life. Its amazing and crazy times we are living in at the moment, especially for cannabis. Late sunday night I was checking up on an an argument on our local whatsapp group. I seriously thought our community was all for cannabis, but was very stunned at some of the comments, especially from certain individuals who have alot of push in our community. i got involved by posting correct information about CBD vs THC, cause seemed everyone was getting it wrong. but bottom line a person I used to think was cool, was absolutely against cannabis, blaming the " hippy drug culture" in our town on cannabis, it all starts with a joint, telling some guys to shove their CBD up their arse!!! WHat was ironic is the person in question was probably on perscription drugs and definitely has a massive problem with alcohol abuse, and more than likely pissed at the time of the comments. Plus their doctor, is the biggest supplier of cannabis in our region!! Anyway, just be safe out there, not all is canna love. And came to realisation why a few local community members are calling me a drug addict. Back to the drawing board.
  8. Beautiful pictures @Teal Smith. Love these fungi, just wish I knew more. Dont know if you guys are aware but hemp is also used to suck up the contaminants left in the soil: Source
  9. Welcome to a great forum @Monk. You sound like you have all the right ingredients for some lovely growing. Hope to see some pictures. Some lekker news. I am sorting that out, there was a big blow up on an american forum recently. We had an influx of users on another american forum because of that. Just letting you know a South African is involved in cleaning it up and keeping users baked and grilled. Its a very cool community with people from around the world, dont think I can post it here. Funny enough I prefer overseas "cannabiz" from many angles, I think mainly its a more mature market and lots of depth.
  10. NORML supports the right of adults to use cannabis responsibly, whether for medical or personal purposes. All penalties, both civil and criminal, should be eliminated for responsible use, possession and cultivation. Further, to eliminate the crime, corruption and violence associated with illicit cannabis trade – a legally regulated market should be established where consumers could buy cannabis in a safe and secure environment.
  11. Gave up gaming when starcraft 1 came out. The only game I play is online, Mudd and Blood, its my Solitaire every few months. Some of the games comments are hilarious and I just enjoy it.
  12. That is a very important part to the bill and hopefully the senate passes it. Exciting times.
  13. yeah some digital 600watts from grow guru up for grabs. You certainly cant. The CFL's i mentioned was basically all that was on the market when I set them up, i think they were fairly new tech. However they have done a great job for too long and when I am not growing in them I converted it to a biltong dryer. Recently we tried using the old box as a chicken incubator, but luckily mother hens sorted themselves out. Have a lekker weekend guys.
  14. That is what I told him to, its kind of like a fulltime job, especially as he would be new to indoor growing, not plants. Its a different sport and takes a lot of time. I think he was just looking for a quick fix for current lack of green and bleak future of potential harvest. I think he will just do the auto's outside in pots. I would never suggest going cheaper, it generally always costs in the long run. Damn never realised how costly indoors has got. I mean my first indoor CFL box cost a few hundred to setup. 4 x 45 watt lights, 2 pc fans and a small ac/dc convertor. A bit of elbow grease, slapped some white paint on the inside and used it for years to grow a wide variety of plants and dry biltong.
  15. Thank you for the feedback and advice. Probably not, enough wind and far enough from neighbours noses, but not their eyes. So when you include seeds, good medium, pots, pans, nutrients, you probably looking at R15000. Yeah we kinda agreed that the budget was a little to high for some personal smoke, and will be waiting on him for a budget on some auto's. Its still not out the questions as I might be able to organise some good quality lights from a grow that is closing down. Again thanks for the advice.
  16. A mate phoned me a couple days ago about setting up an indoor grow at his new home for his own harvest and a couple mates. They are big stoners and used to fair amounts of bush twak outside. He has moved into a small town and has eyes all around him now, so would rather be more discreet. He asked me what it would cost to setup a continuous indoor garden. I thumb sucked 10K for a basic tent setup with flowering, vegging and cloning chamber. Not to sure if that was a right costing, but a figure I think is not far off the mark. Worked out he smokes about 30 - 40 grams a month. He is an experienced horticulturist, landscaper, but only ever grown outdoor bush twak. Any advice from seasoned indoorers welcome? Are the off the shelf grow setups you can buy for one person, any suggestions? My final thought for him was to buy auto/fem seeds and grow in pots around his garden discreetly as is needs are two-fold. He is tired of buying, is not currently growing and he needs his zol.
  17. Pull us cooked okes back on track. Raw cannabis has many benefits and taking established markets by storm. Chuck them in a smoothie, very good you with readily available nutrients. Dry the stems out and grind them down and you will see how " woody " they are, amazing product to work with and use. cannabis is so varied and diverse you are probably right. Next couple of days I am conferencing into a grow room of mutant plants, freakshow, ducksfoot and grinspoon are being grown. But yeah the spinach above looks identical to some cannabis strains I have grown. Amazing times we living in, just wish people were as amazing as cannabis. Cannabis is part of the plant kingdom and needs an update with scientically classified terms and taxanomy.
  18. Not at all, the insults are low level and reading into them are saying more about the people posting than towards me. Ego, jealously, fear and stupidy = trolling. And fnnn hilarious. Was thinking of printing some shirts with the insults. i know and understand this, was going to do a post about trolling online and cannabis community, but the time was not right. Patience is my middle name. Maybe they should not have an edit button!!! I would have opened a topic in that case. Just was opening a debate as I mentioned. Back to electric turbo spinach. Have a peaceful and patient day.
  19. Just busy editing my post, dont get offended. All in jest and education.
  20. I am terribly sorry, I saw the notification, while I was editing. Dont really have the time to please everyone. Anyway getting your vibe, and realise you judged me way before a little pathetic debate. Much love and keep on growing. onething I can say, is the insults I have received from the hippie peace loving cannabis community for about 4 years is insane. Rhino thick skin here, call me what you want, not saying you personally, just what I have received from other green activists is seriously unreal. Really sad, moving along. Living the dream, haters towing along.
  21. Food for thought, they make paper out of trees, and originally made paper out of hemp. Go figure.
  22. Ah no, not at all. Its been a debate for years and since cannabis was generally accepted taxanomy in the 19th century there is alot of debate happening about what it exactly it is and changes that need to be made. Anyway lets leave it at that. Going to open up another debate about this. But if you want tongue in cheek, cooked , so be it. You sounding like another activist that ironically called me a drug addict recently, two days later published article, Chris Jay said, "legalise all drugs". . Love you guys and your blah. See you in the future.
  23. Herbaceous plant "vascular plants that have no persistent woody stems above ground". if you have ever taken the time to dry the stems of cannabis and grate them down you will see how woody they come out. Damn strong, lots of fibre. Its very confusing.
  24. Not to sure, was not really interested. there are multiple categories, lists.... largest fruit, largest vegetable, mutant varities, dry flowers, fresh flowers, exotic fruits, kitchen herbs....... Was just quite an excitement moment when they agreed cannabis could be a multiple categories at that point. Win for cannabis.
