Living Organic Soil recommendations
Naughty.Psychonaut replied to Weskush's topic in Organic Growing - Growing in soil
I think this is the closest premix product we have around that is organic dry amendments. other than this I guess we gotta mix our own for now, but this stuff works! https://www.futurama.co.za/green-house-feeding-hydroponic-nutrients-combo-bio-grow-bio-bloom/ -
this is key brother, original skunk#1 does not exist anymore. well, I shouldn't say it doesn't exist at all, because I haven't met every single grower on the planet, but even the highly regarded growers of the world who are doing some big shit, the cannabis kings can't even get their hands on the skunk#1 everyone is looking for. chances are it might still be growing somewhere, but probably not somewhere it's meant to be found. I would bet it's either being shared amongst a select few who know what they are doing and care to preserve the genetic, or it just doesn't exist anymore. next best thing is phenohunting a variety of hybrids that some breeder is calling "skunk#1" because he made a cross that seemed similar to the skunk and you might find something similar to what you're looking for. this is really only if one has ever had the privilege to experience original skunk and can remember what to look for, otherwise how would you even tell if it was what it's supposed to be, even if you do find the original genetic?

Hitler? who's he? I try to keep myself from "political" discussions, soooo just for interest sake... you guys hear of a strain with the name "God Bud"? how you feel bout that name seeing as the killing of people in the name of religion is a war that is still ongoing to this day? there are a bunch of names I feel is so wrong for weed, but then again there's that "punch" behind the words we all like. we all know the word "dank" means it stinks and is unpleasant or moist... that don't sound right... but we all know why that "bad" discription is used, it catches attention. part of marketing is trying to catch attention and get people talking bout the very thing. as we are right now. this, by no means, justifies the glorification if anything that bares tragedy, but governing what people are allowed to call strains, what would be the calling? and who get's to draw the line, and where? because, like I mentioned the religion thing, atleast 50% of humans are very well religious and will defend their religion to the grave, other 50% of the people just live life according to their moral compass. you can dictate and say "No more bad names with negative connotation for weed strains", then the whole world agrees and next day some guy wants to call his bud "god bud" because he feels there's no negative energy. that will cause even more negative energy than just not telling people what to think in the first place, or what to call their weed... you have the option to support it or not support it, buy the seed or not buy the seed. but sadly we don't have the option to tell people what to name their weed or how to feel about the names that are given to them. I will say this though, it's a damn hard hitter strain that I would like to grow myself, because I am after the weed. Not like I am contributing to the "Support Hitler Foundation" in any way, shape or form. I also don't see how I will be glorifying him if I grow that plant? I will have good weed, that's for sure.

@Bay Seeds also made a good move here as to have their seed grown out by a guy who knows what he is doing, the richness that really matters (knowledge and experience in this case) and having their genetics portrayed in a good light. the last thing I meant is that you are rich financially and that's why you're getting a free seed.

@The_StonedTrooper you don't get the joke? I am sure you are aware of aphorisms..... you have a lot of a certain thing and now you get more of it. a prefessional in a certain league will get sponsors thrown his way. I hoped you would see the compliment in what I said. sorry to confuse, hope I didn't offend you bro

@The_StonedTrooper the rich gets richer hey

very nice man!

I heard of it a month ago for the first time, heard the same story about clones traveling around cape town. I can see why you would wana grow it. don't know if this is the same story, but there's a big buddha cheese that falls under that cape town cheese cross that just picked up a new name somewhere along the line. maybe the same thing hahah

I have the same problem! I found that working with the 12hrs cycle if the loadshedding happens within the first 6hrs of lights on then I leave the timer where it's at so it can complete the 12hrs lights on cycle. if the loadshedding happens in the last 6 hrs of lights on then I move the timer over so the plant gets only 8-10 hrs of light. my thoughts where that switch on and off, on and off, on and off, causes much more stress to the plant than to rather just give it an extra 2hrs of darkness... so basically when loadshedding happens during last 6hrs of lights on, then my plants go on "10/14" cycle for that day. if loadshedding happens during lights out. no problem. I been thinking of getting those magneto LEDs that plugs into the wall and comes on automatically when the loadshedding kicks in, but I haven't seen enough stress on the ladies to encourage me to get those. plus, you will still have to remember to go move the timer, because if the timer stands for 2hrs and you provide light during that time without moving the timer, that will mean you giving the plants 14hrs of light, which will surely send them into reveg. so I leave the magneto LED option, it will make me lazy

her pot was also bit smaller than the others, but she stretched to be bigger than the others hahah and I pulled her down atleast a week earlier than I could've. personally I rather deal with anxiety than couch lock hahah smoke report comes as soon as the hygrometers inside the jars say 62% though the smells and taste changes a lot over time with a good cure, I have grown this same plant a couple times now so I know the taste quite well. fruity almost to a point where it's a bit bad. heavy dank funk. I know there is a strain called puppy breath or pugs breath and some shit out there, there's none of that in the lineage of this banana I am growing, but can't help to point that out, got a heavy funk like a puppies breath with a deep fruit backtone. -
got a swizz shepherd and a miniature schnauzer that will be too greatful for that Be aware if you have dogs in the garden, I can't use bonemeal for outdoor gardening anymore, even in pots. The shepherd will have a bit of the pot and it's contents in every corner of the yard if there's bonemeal in it. I got a baboon skull and had a few different antelope skulls just chilling in the garden on pots and in beds, collected them from mountain walks and bundu bashing, didn't kill them myself, anyway they must be quite old and the dogs still seem to like them. the reason I had more was cause every now and then I come home and Leo, the shepherd, will have either burried one or is chomping on one. aaaaanyway. back to the topic, OUTDOOR PREPERATIONS super lemon OG cut took from my indoor run, got her well established over the winter, going into a 70L plastic pot. recycled FF premium soil with 30% of the 70L being worm castings and I threw in a hand full of DE, this has been standing for about 2 weeks. got a couple clones in the back there, but thinking of popping a seed in here, this is a 90L, recycled FF soil with the top 15-20cm a thick layer of wormcastings. also put a bunch of DE for any unwelcome softies. here I got another 100L pot with maybe 80L of recycled soil, but I don't think I have space for her, where she's standing now get's almost no sun and no wind. might just keep the soil for future

If you got a PPM pen and a PH pen, we can take a lot of guessing out the game here

new growth does look good though

do another plain water brother, right now is a delicate time for her. she's technically recovering still, and will be untill she's fully recovered. in the situation of too much food or too little food, you rather wana hang to the side of too little food, because it's easier rectified than dealing with lockout and all that shit. if she still got feed around the roots (which she does, you can see because she's still stressing) and you feed again, you just jumping back in the boat you came from. rather keep the water you giving them clean till you can almost see a slight N deficiency then you start giving like normal again. you'll be giving plain water to those plants for a while before they start getting hungry again.

Automatic watering suggestions for coco?
Naughty.Psychonaut replied to Orcanic's topic in Indoor Growing
what's up man, hope all is well your side I don't even have a automated watering system, but I have bins full of pipes, different adapters and connectors, inline filters, gromets.... can't toss it all cause I might still use it, but it's all there cause I tried to plan out a irrigation system off the top of my head and kept having to build little puzzles in the shop when I'm buying the stuff and still end up buying shit I never needed! just wana drop a 2c here, if you looking at automating your water schedule don't cheap out on a irrigation systems. having weak connections and end up with leaks or having to redo the whole thing because of small miscalculations is just headaches ontop of headaches. I helped set up a irrigation system for a protea farm, 9 hectares, we didn't want to bring in too much technology so with a little permaculture background and know how we set the whole thing up to work with gravity only and eneded up with 9bar pressure in the pipes when the dams are full. worked with Bergrevierbesproeiing in Paarl, they're like a middle man who stock all the needs for any irrigation setup you have in mind, different brands and "set layouts" and a bunch of super smart people who will advise you on what the best options might be for your situation. don't know what area you're in, but there are quite a few big time irrigation companies around as we are in farm country and it's big business around here, maybe check in your area and have a chat with some of the real smart irrigation guys who know all the products and work with these things all day everyday. buying the wrong thing and having to drive back and forth and putting your whole project on hold cause you need components and all that is something to try avoid from the start... I wish someone told me this back when I wasted all my time and money like that, I just write it off a school fees -

Banana 1 week hanging, storage room goes dark, rh50-60%, temperatures in there go from 17 to 25°C Canopy now, the banana took quite a lot of space Zkittle 1, signs of fade coming on with a bit of nute burn Zkittle 2, quite a bit of fade on lower part of plant already, haven't looked at trichomes, will probably do so during the week. Zkittle 3, absolutely no fade yet, instead she's turning a little purple and like I said, small buds but best smells coming from her out of the 3. Super Lemon OG, also started to fade over the weekend. -
hi @Farmer is this the whole plant? It's hard to make out what you're trying to show, but there is for sure powdery mildew on those leaves...
-
@Hooper let her dry out is best yeah but once you go to water you need to know what to give. got those pens? ph and ppm? if it's ph, giving epsom will not help. you don't wana risk high ppm being the cause of this then you add more ppm and make the problem worse. if it's neither of the two, your ph in check and ppm where it needs to be, only then you can for sure say the plant needs or could do with anything. ortherwise like mr prom said, tooo much guessing... testing your medium will only help
-
what's up Hooper, the way they curling there seems to be more canoeing and only little bit of clawing. The two differ a bit in that the canoeing is a signal of either heat and/or low RH stress or the onset of Magnesium deficiency. Clawing will begin in the early stages of Nitrogen toxicity. You got bit of both aswell as slight discoloration on the leaves. I haven't used any ecobuz products, had a quick look at the multigrow and I see 5ml product to 5L water is recommended dose, so that shouldn't be the problem. First two questions I have for you, you got a ph pen? You got a ppm pen? Can help us a lot right now. If not, you gona have to tell us more. Cause it may be heat stress, what are your temps mornings, noons and nights? What medium? What feeding regime? What foliar regime? You got other plants of same genetics growing there aswell?
-
oh, you can trust the family wants to see them goodies. thanks for the response, I am doing a cleanup soon, will be the first time cleaning the budbox, wana make sure I am thorough! gotta respect your cleanliness man

Yeah, on the log that sonoff provides I only get the on/off times aswell, so this is where the last bit of physical labour comes in. I have a file with printed out pages with a little excell spread on it where I capture the data. I've learned that having things so automatic that you don't have to pay attention to it at all things will go wrong without you noticing it, so even when things are fully automatic you gotta do check ups, so I just put it on myself to open the sonoff app at least 3 times a day (morning, noon and night) and take a screenshot of the readings. Then I have a folder under my camera album on my phone where I collect all those screenshots. I've stopped filling in the data sheet as I don't care to use that much paper and I mean what are smart phones for if not helping us remember stuff. So I know I have a back log of all that happened, here is an example of the excell spread I used to use. Now, here is where mr. @Autoflow3r can jump in. If there's a way to design an app that automatically fills in the data so you don't have to take screenshots 3 times a day every day, that's maybe something he can look into. Personally I prefer "having to check up" and change as needed, instead of just keeping log of where things went wrong because I trusted technology.
