welcome @Growbaron any specific reason you are set on the "kratky" method? always had me wondering, the guys who wana get growing with any plant and jump right to some alternative method of growing other than just plain old soil, are they more interested in growing the plant or are they interested in doing something "out of the ordinary"? with any of these alternative methods you need to do quite a bit more homework and maintenance, need more tools and resources and need a lot more "know how" to get things right. you may also run into quite a bit of trouble and when that happens you need to know how to fix. with all that said, I have no idea how much of a greenfinger you are, so that's why I ask, why the "kratky" method?

I think don't LST, the time left till flip and end of comp won't allow them to get much bigger even if you grow a christmas tree shape. LST will only set you back another day or two

how did I miss this thread!! very very usefull and motivating information here!!! mr Psyclown hit the nail on the head with the question I wanted to ask, but also have already gotten my answer on another thread! just wana give a credit here, a close friend of mine grew a chocolope cut he got from a guy a while back. he said the name was chocolope something something. not a serious grower so wouldn't expect of him to know the name and this was before I was on the forum and neither of us knew where the local genetics came from neither did we take any of this serious. joining the forum it didn't take me long to figure out, that had to be some of mr. Totemics work! So even people who aren't aware of who Totemic really is are already growing your stuff and you are making strong impressions and firmly embedding your roots deep in the community and got supporters spreading good words I am sure you don't know of! my hat goes off to you sir. @Totemic this is epic! what shop is this?

That is crazy brother! How do you go about selling THC? Did you have to work through some legal papers and get it lisenced? There's a shop here in Paarl selling weed, like Cannapax used to do, but these guys are legit. So I spoke to the GM and he said it's just paper work paper work paper work, their lawyers are keeping them safe, but they keep getting questioned by the local authorities, even arrested one of the workers, but he was let go the same day after a heap of paper work... I will actually sit and talk with the guy and see if they're not interested in your gummies. I know they're quite uptight with their products, and rightfully so, every bud sold at the shop is from a plant that has their name on and is traced from seed to harvest, so I can't even go sell them my weed, because that would be concidered illegal still. they have a few different THC containing products, but nothing that doesn't fall under their "brand", because as a private company everything that has to do with THC that they wana sell needs to fall under their guidlines given to them by "the law makers". so if you're supplying them you need to become part of their "brand" so in that case you're only producing for them and not selling to them. this is also the only place I know of that legally sells THC, I wouldn't wana suggest and partner you up with dodgy characters hahahah I know it sounds funky, that's because it is hahahah, this whole area of legislation is still very grey, but yeah. Sometimes you gotta risk it to get the biscuit. Also, I know Paarl is far from where you are, but if bulk orders can be placed and shipped then you got a hookup. I have no idea of any places up that side unfortunately.

have heard of guys doing this, but instead of doing it in the oven you grab a pot and put the jar with weed in it in the pot standing up, then you fill the pot with water just till where the weed sits in the jar. place something heavy ontop of the jar to keep it from floating or falling over. bring the water up to simmer so you know you at boiling temp then just lower a tad bit so the water stays hot as hell but not bubbling. keep the jar in there for 60min and fill the pot with water when needed. jar should be breathable so it doesn't build pressure inside and explode. so either flip the lid or drill a hole in the lid and put breathable surgical tape over. best way. so giving up the lid do it in a jar you don't wana use again in future. just make sure the jar is clean and no smells

I rate you should write him a thorough explination on how to manage ones personal time and if you didn't agree on this before hand that he's wasting his time expecting someone else to do updates for him. explain that you are not 420SA and sending you the updates mean nothing then leave him hanging, he will get a warning, but as long as you updating for him he wont. tough love

ah yeah had this happen to me once and back then I was living in Hermanus close to the ocean and you could smell the ocean quite a bit where I was, grew in a pot outdoors, used mostly seagrow and some other stuff. when I got that first fish whaft I didn't know if I should be laughing or crying! like the old afroman song, if I was blind it would've had me saying "good morning, ladies!" thought I did an amazing job, buds looked alright, but that smell...... had me concerned! still smoked about a whole gram before I just tossed it on the fire one evening lol yeah I agree, could be the fish ferts, could be the mold, but I would say could be the wash also. I got some buds handed to me, from a buddies harvest who got mites late flower and he is too lazy to wash. I've washed a few of the branches, came out nice and clean had a shit ton of fuckers floating in the wash bucket after, but now after being dried again they smell kinda salty .... where as the jar with the prewashed buds smell normal. never happened to me with a wash, but in your case with the pm I understand washing was a must. I don't think a longer cure will help, but it wont hurt to try! I think if you try getting a extract from it you will be pulling terps with it, unless you wana go for a THCA extract which is a bit more advanced, but then you wont have any smell

great, that's how I understood it, obviously no offence meant by laughing at the comment if you meant it as a joke hahahah yeah I get putting ripe bananas in the same bowl as other fruit may help it to ripen faster, but I don't think the same goes for haning some bananas next to your buds while growing them. I used to put banana peels on the soil as suggested by some "gardner guru" as it would release potassium in the soil and help with flowering. (all ornamental plants aswell as fruits, veg) all it gave me was some mold growing on the banana and spreading on the top soil (not healthy looking mold). I then tried banana peels mixed into soil soaked with microbes and cooked it in a slightly breathable black bin in the sun for 2 weeks, top dressed my soil with it and ended up with the same shit mold growing and no noticable change in the plant. then before trying anything else, looked up banana peels in AACT, then came across the information explaining the "breaking down" or decomposing of organic matter and how it will differ in every setting. simply put, when adding banana peels to soil it might add some potassium yes, but don't forget about the whole list of other things it also adds and how each of these compounds interact with eachother not to mention creating a favourable condition for living organisms and a breeding ground for ALL bacteria, good and bad. If wanting to increase potassium, give potasaium rich plant feed. simple

I just scanned through, didn'r read everything so might've been brought up, but here's a question, can a cob give the same spectrum as a qb? with a qb you can add red diodes and what not and play around with different colours with cob you could potentially only get a few of them and then that's all you have.

I will shit myself!! I like what was suggested, and if I may, here's my solution for wires that have loose connections with the screw over part being the most important here you get them in plastic too, to pull the connections in place and hold them there. all different shapes and sizes.

Wait. banana leaves or peels? I am sure you know the banana peel, not the whole thing, just generally speaking any of it first has to decompose before your plant can do anything with any of it, during that process there will be a few beneficial compounds made available to the plant. Depending on the process, with the variables being what does the decomposing work and in what manner (earthworms, microbes and the millions of other decomposers), and the other variable being that not all banana peels contain exactly the same amount of all compounds, this will cause you to either have more or less of certain compounds in your soil and your end result will always differ, because one cannot dictate what must happen during decomposition. this is the reason no one knows the NPK value of any compost mixture, you can more or less guage it by what you putting in the compost, but simply "giving banana peels to your plants" might be cutting it a little skew and I like a nice straight edge.

yeah hahah and unfortunately I don't think anyone from around here will be doing any kind of testing of this sort. about the difference in terp results, this could also be affected by the single plant being harvested at different times, or what you think? brother hahahah just checking, but this is a joke right? or you saying we should give banana peels to our plants?

We know this topic all too well, it has always been a back and forth and never really coming to any conclusion as there has never been any real big time studies done on it... so I found this video. click on the link it will take you to the YT page. If you're not redirected to the video, it's by Lost Leaf and it's called Darkness Before Harvest Lab Results. One thing I find note worthy, if you harvest a plant in sections you're potentially just giving parts of the plant longer life than the rest and you will obviously have different results. A more accurate analysis would be data from seperate plants, clones from same mother and all with same profiles, all harvested on the same day, but with one recieving normal 12/12 till harvest day. one with 24hr darkness. one with 48hr darkness and one with 72hr darkness. and this needs to be done with atleast a few different genetics
