Sweet strains the trend or the norm?
Naughty.Psychonaut replied to Weskush's topic in Cannabis Genetics
hahahah a biltong strain this is what a proper weskush ou will say hahah I love it, just don't know if I would smoke it hey but now my mouth is watering for some of that yellow fat biltong! actually came across a local strain called "mac burger" recently. lol! not a bad smoke anyone on here familiar with Natures Farmacy?? I never know when a strain has been grown properly or when it's different phenos. so might have smoked the same strain couple times and only enjoyed it once or other way around. that's why I like to try everything twice hahah or 10 times depending on situation obviously not even once if it looks and smells like horse shit. got to smoke some gorilla glue a while back, looked 100% like the strain. but even the jar had no smell, grind the bud up and you get a fucking wierd burnt food kinda smell. you smoke it and you get hit in the chest so damn hard you have to run outside for fresh air, your lungs feel like there's an elephant sitting on your chest and your nose starts running and shit. feels like a too biiiig dab and the taste aswell, like fucking strong extracts. but it was just a bud..... now if I could have that everytime I would, but I don't even know who grew it and that's obviously all of our first questions "who the fuck grew this" wish I could get my hands on that cut, but I probably wouldn't even get it to turn out like that. still would like to try hahah -
whats up! welcome!! nice grow room you got there man, I am sure many of us would love to have a extra room like that!

oh the A,B,MKP ferts? yeah, same situation, if you where in organic it would just be less of a worry actually. so you in coco perlite mix? growing with synthetics should rather not be done in soil, so this leads to a "hydroponic" situation you could check runoff ph just to be sure it's in range. check reading before giving aswell. now you have to go on memory. did you give a lot of nutes over the past week or two? and by a lot I mean anything more than a recommended dose? if you're in soil chances are there's already a bunch of nutes available to the plant and the nutes you gave pushed it over the limit. if you're in coco and you gave a bunch of stuff it is possible to have a build up on the roots. do you alternate between feed and clean water, this is also a rule of thumb when growing in a medium along with synthetic plant food. to prevent nute build up. if you in coco, was the coco washed and buffered? could result in huge problems using unwashed and unbuffered coco. if washed and buffered and you can remember you been giving only recommended doses and she's doing that, then I'll concider deficiencies. often times we feel like we do too little then we love the plants to death by giving and doing too much. also, a ppm pen can be real cheap and take a lot of guessing out of the game.
-
I am assuming it's an organic grow? you got a ppm pen? as you said you been giving lots, cal & mag test run off first, see if it's not toxification? if low ppm you can feed, if high ppm just flush. another might be ph out of range so plant isn't uptaking what it should or too much of something it doesn't actually want. don't just do anything cz you worried and feel like you need to do something, first point out the problem don't believe when people say you can go all willy nilly with the organic stuff, LESS IS MORE. that is something I don't hear enough. and ph CAN be a problem. everyone asked me why I was phing my water in organic grow so I felt stupid, then I stopped and my plants fucked out, got me running round like a headless chicken. lost a whole grow. almost fucked another grow right in the ass. till I checked my runoff.... ph was waaaaayyy out sitting at 8.something and my ppm sitting way up in outer space, glad my plants didn't catch fire. because of tooo much nutes and plain tap water.

what hahahah so I was wrong about being wrong, the F4s generally have more stability across the board. crazyness... I would assume this is only the case when you been doing everything on point since the beginning. have seen some questionable breeding projects go down hahah never had the pleasure of following a project along that got so far as to make f4s will be very exciting to see how they turn out!!
-
Thanks, will try it, either way I don't think it's going to be useful to keep them. Thanks for the heads up yeah no brother I wouldn't do that to myself. you deserve better
-
sorry this was dumb to ask, obviously it doesn't.
-
I see, I have also noticed that stress can push them to show preflowers. a batch of clones all from the same plant, 2 started stressing pushed pistils during 18.6. some guys wait about a month, then just switch to 12.12 just to get the sex and then take things from there. so ultimately, you are stabilising, but still have to complete a few runs? according to your way of look and feel would you concider them stable at F4 because of the line you're working with or does this stay the same across the board? and do you first do a run to see how many different traits pop up or how would you determine pheno stability?
-
I have seen my plants show sex on 18.6 before but haven't noticed it that early, might just have to train my eye a bit I understand you say the F2 is where the real hunt begin, but coming from the F1 that is already stable to an extent would they not already be a bit more stable? Are the F2s being bred to isolate traits of the current Tortonis or because you're looking for different traits? I see I see, I guess part of the growers responsibility is also plant health and obviously, or more like hopefully every true breeder will only care to work with healthy plants that are not making their days harder. before I got on the forum and really started growing I remember hearing a lot about this Chocolope strain, everyone was growing it and this was about 2-3 years back. so I know you been working with it for a while. then I joined the forum when, lo and behold, the mastermind behind it all. I feel honored!
-
did they start sexing after a month on 18/6 then or do you only start counting now? another question I have on this topic is, when pheno hunting to stabilise a genetic when does one bring in stressing factors to see how well who does and fights for itself against pests and diseases? do you use a refractometer or just go by looks and your personal feel?
-
nice! bud, tell me, are you gona dry those buds? they should not go into jars right away.
-
forgot to mention your main reason, it blacks it out
-
Link to the thread, you can see all intake and outlets was simply covered with panty hoe.
-
buy some cheap one size fits all panty hoe and nice cable ties. block off both sides intake and out. this will make it sit nice and snug aswell as catch most of the dust moving through, did something similar a while back. still got her, but shes retired now. will look for the thread I posted about it
-
I think most of the people I know of that side that might be able to provide a clone is the guys here on the forum, hope someone can sort you out bro. pm and bud rot will only get worse over time, so if you leave her she possibly might die completely and if you harvest with mold on the plant and concider smoking it you might be doing more harm here than good.

would a 25L pot at 10-30ml / L not be more around 250 to 750ml? or did you only do 50ml because of the worm castings? I see I can get 10L for R175 at the hydroshop. perfect -

don't mind at all brother, I actually need to know that too, although I believe sooner is better so you can get the soil back to life. I would imagine it's got a bunch of microbes and bacteria in it, as soon as you introduce the blend to the used soil you're giving it life again. I think of inoculating microbes aswell that'll assist in breaking down the elements and by the time you're planting you should have nutrients already available to your plant. I will also be making some sugar/starch teas to keep the microbes alive. -

I forget to post the photo lol nothing to see anyway -
goodmorning family people was gifted these pots quite a while ago, 90L and a 60L. got another 40L but that one got a small Avo tree in it. right now the big one is filled with used FF premium classic. I am looking to reamend it now, have the winter rain down some love and I'll be flipping it weekly till October before planting in it for the upcoming outdoor season. I would like to hear from you seasoned growers with experience in outdoor potted organic growing, what I should be amending it with? just the same ingredients FF list, or something special? I have the means to brew teas aswell. Keeping in mind, to buy 90L ff premium classic fresh is gona be R540. so we need to keep it under that price. I have a few ingredients laying around, but lets assume I have nothing.

got a little update here small change made in flower room, just put 2 x 15cm air ducts in the top two socks as passive intakes and let them hang down to canopy level. with the budbox being more of a solid material and no pin holes and what not it creates much more of a negative pressure, so allowing two more relatively nice sized passive intakes will bring more fresh air in aswell as spare my tent a little hahah also defoliated the girls after the first sign of flowers. day 6 of 12.12 Temp/RH in room, as you can see low temp high RH also got the trusty old thermometer if I don't feel like trusting the digital reader, should also put another RH reader in a different spot in the room, but this also helps check if the digital one is still in range Flower conditions perky tits coming in top view front Veg conditions. lower RH cause tent is less full I guess? higher temp from the lights, LED in flower room I built gives off basically no heat. time is way out, old sensor and I definitly don't use it to check time more or less evened everyting out with paper clips and garden wire, getting ready to fill out the scrog I took a bunch of cuts from the Emerald Triangle Super Lemon OG, got 3 seeds, popped the first one during my move end of last year, had to keep it outside for literally a few hours, got eaten by something!!!!!! only had the first set of true leaves and was next to a bigger plant with about 4 nodes (we have a bunch of grasshoppers and all sorts of katydid insects around the winelands area that time of year) whatever it was, fuck that thing! this forced me to buy some Bulk Seed Bank seeds, luckily got a bunch for around the same price as the 3 Emerald Triangle seeds, so my current run in the flower room consists of 3x Zkittles from Bulk Seed Bank, 1x Super Lemon OG and then a Banana Hammock cut from a few runs back. I was quite excited for my Super Lemon run that went south, but didn't give up. 100% of the cuts I took rooted and I filled the veg tent with those except for another 1 banana lol, I wana keep that genetic around. -
sadly I would have to agree with the okes, you'll be fighting a loosing battle with that bitch if you in CPT area I can hook you up with a clone for free. you got something brewing indoors? or outdoor growing only? if outdoors I will wait till Sept to give you the clone. now is no good for starting outdoors.
