  1. I was just about to say, can't be playing those games with your face showing lol probably still won't be hard to track him, though. he wont last long
  2. You got a EC pen? get some clean water, test the EC, make sure you got 0.0 or 0.1 EC. water plants slowly till first bit of runoff, test EC of runoff. this will clearly tell you if it's over fed or under fed. next is ph, if ph is out (which can happen in organic situations) your plant will also show signs of deficiency. if EC too high, flush with low EC water and keep testing runoff till desired value. got a ph pen? get clean water, test ph, make sure it's between 5.8 and 6.2 (for soil). water slowly till first runoff. test runoff. this will show you ph of soil. if ph is out, get water to right ph and keep flushing and testing runoff till ph is at desired value. from there, start over with nutes. begin at 1ml/L and work your way up. less is more especially cause organic growing makes use of slow release nutes so you can give too much real quik. don't let the "it's organic you can do what you want" catch phase get you. organic can be more full of shit than people make it out to be
  3. I agree, here and there, however, if you put it like that, the advantage of synthetic nutes is the cutback on crop time and upscale yield. this is to "feed the masses" right? here's where it starts to hurt, the planet is over populated. as harsh as it sounds we shouldn't be accompanying for the masses in the way we do. it stems from supplying the demand and the demand is the problem. it's all for economic gain, which I am firmly against. I would love to move away from all the destruction we cause, not add to it. where I see fit. again taking things back to what I stated in my first post here on this thread, and that is that I believe synthetic nutes shouln't be available at all. even the process of making them is harmfull to our environment. but hey, I am not here to change the world, lol. also as many of us would agree here on the forum, it's always quality over quantity, and that comes with organics.
  4. with that said, you can present all the evidence in the world and people will believe whatever they feel is right for them.
  5. sooooo uh yeah.... to conclude BIG NO TO SYNTHETICS " "
  6. both yours, you don't need to trade me, but perhaps I'll let you know in future when I got space and you got something I like? blessed with some rains through the night
  7. @hopsandhash man, I wouldn't do it. I mean it's something different, but is it better than the pots you already get out there? plus how much you gona pay for that thing? I am sure it will cost about the same as a 30L material pot, but it's definitly not made for what material pots are made for. I can guarentee you now you'll end up putting that thing aside once you get the right pots and will always be asking yourself what the hell where you thinking. so why not just skip the school fees and get a real pot? if you wanted to go cheap and still have a material like pot I would suggest looking at what @Bos is doing with his pnp/pep material bags. I just don't know if you can get as many uses out of those bags before you have to replace them, plus what the material pots and other brands state is that theres nothing leaching into your soils and the bags material isn't interacting with the water and nutes you giving the plant. can you be sure these "make shift" bags are of the same quality? I don't see the benefit in this
  8. @PsyCLown I got you my dude! actually have 2 nicely rooted in 10cm pots already shooting new branches, will take a photo in the morning. correct me if I am wrong, but aren't you up in jozi? I'm in winelands cpt
  9. glyphosate gets mentioned in the video above. it harms EVERYTHING it touches. then they made *glufosinate which is just a relative of the latter and it still harms EVERYTHING. it ends up in streams it's just a big mess
  10. faqme you guys where all off work today? I am only getting back now and there is 4 pages on this thread!? I will get to reading the whole thread, @PsyCLown https://www.researchgate.net/publication/331132826_The_Impact_of_Chemical_Fertilizers_on_our_Environment_and_Ecosystem that link is to an abstract from a book written by a couple of guys who I'm sure you'll be able to indulge, here is the list of authors and their qualifications, read most of it, it's quite a read. *if you scroll down on that page you'll find the whole chapter here is a PDF, not sure if you can get into it? but it's just about how any synthetic nitrate even the most subtle forms in our drinking water to the more heavy stuff like ammonium nitrate being way more harmfull all have links to the hemoglobin disorder. nitratmethemog.pdf any quick search on the old google bitch on methemoglobinemia and its relations to synthetic nitrates will give you the info. I just think, we can do it without synthetics, but to convince the world to do one thing is insane hahah that's not what I'm after. anyway, let me see what I missed.. *edit
  11. yeah I guess like most said, it's personal preference at the end of the day, but cause this thread is about explaining our preferences, here's mine I've mentioned this a couple times before on here, I worked on a big export flower farm in Hermanus for a number of years, where I learned a LOT about the difference between organic and synthetic fertilizers. you'll be able to spot in my earlier threads that I used to mix organics and synthetics, used to also get good results even though a bunch of the members where frowning upon it. I grow all organic now. for me, where I stand right now, I believe synthetic nutes should be discontinued completely. The existence of those products have devistating effects on our biodiversity right around the world. not only on our fauna and flora, but humans too. there has been studies done on the synthetic nitrates we add to our soils and research shows that plants consumed carrying those harmfull nitrates result in a toxic reaction with the hemoglobin in the blood stream, causing methaeglobinaemia which damages the vascular and respitory system. This causes shortnes of breath and suffocation in severe cases. this is not only from the weed we smoke but what contains most of these harmfull nitrates is our FMCG crops. that fat healthy looking bright green lettuce on the shelf in checkers is more harmful in this regard than the weed we consume If you guys are interested we can go into detail as to who what why and where, but the fact of the matter is, organic farming, be it urban or commercial, will stand the test of time. the most important test, I would say.
  12. I noticed one member jokingly asking for a sponsor to join a comp, not sure if it was equipment or finance related, but hey isn't everything finance related I would like to nominate @StonerZN
  13. I would say rather brew a tea and then dilute that tea with some fresh spring water. 1:10 the top spoil would have spent a few days by now covered in a layer of ash and a lot of the compounds have leached into the soil, I would say the top soil is more rich in terms of diversity looking at the macro, micro and trace elements, but by now the thick layer of ashes has gotten wet and leached out an abundance of lime into the soil. VERY IMPORTANT if you do brew a tea with the soil be 100% sure to check the PH & PPM of that tea before going all willy nilly with it!!! lime can cause big kak in that regard
  14. bless you brother on a not so serious note, on a personal level, I am not as religious as much as I am aware that we should at least acknowledge a higher purpose for ourselves and communities we move in, with that said, we all on the forum probably know cannabis was made illegal for economic reasons, disregarding the plant as a whole and curbing research data to shine a negative light on the matter aside from its recreational use the plant has endless beneficial uses. it can replace soooooo many materials we are currently sucking the earths resources dry to make synthetically. honestly, if you go into research about all the uses of cannabis plants it really doesn't even make sense that there is such a miracle plant out there. which leads me to say the following, if there was any institutionalised way of living, such as any of the million religions out there that claim to be more holy than thou, that is set to benefit the living conditions of all mankind, cannabis would not be illegal and would be part of communal living. the earth aswell as its inhabitants would benefit greatly from more cannabis being planted and used. so, IMHO, spreading cannabis around the community is much closer to "godly work" than one would care to admit, because of the stigma around religion, especially in todays living conditions where we're strayed so far away from the endless provider you guys are doing what should be done
  15. never seen the freakshow mutations damn that looks cool
  16. @The_StonedTrooper you the man big ups to the joiners aswell @Marzcanna @Marijuana Seeds SA you guys doing gods work lol
  17. that is true, I have grown another 2 of their strains and this was the only one worth keeping. might also be the last time I'm growing it.
  18. I would actually only use the stuff when planting directly into the earth and then also not laying it down but mixing it in as it drastically changes the ph. it causes lime build up and over time it turns to magnesium. it can very quickly become too much in a pot situation. if you wanted to use in a pot, wait till repot before flower only, take some of the finest ash dust, sift if you must, and sprinkle a flat table spoon (around 5ml in a measure cup) over a 30L bag of soil, don't add more, less is more with this stuff.
  19. @PsyCLown indeed. Ethos genetics. they have some nice stuff sometimes.
  20. not much happening right now, still recovering from the HST and settling into their new pots, growth is rather slow. still on 18/6, *since repotting them I've been giving only dechloronated tap water ph down to 6.0, will give 0.5ml/L fishmix in days to come. picking a leaf here and there everytime I open the tent.
  21. damn dude, you really lucky to have a few roaming around by choice hahah I love their movements and mannerism could look at them for hours!!! yeah, Winelands, I used to see atleast one a week till a few years ago, ok more like 8/9 years ago, they used to be big colourful chonky bois, now they much smaller and most of them have neutral colours. guess it depends on area and all those factors anyway, I think Mr. Chameleon deserves the win!!!! blessed brother, have a good weekend!
  22. duuuuuuuude my spirit animal!!!! are you it's guardian? or is it a wild boi? haven't seen wil ones around here in ages
