Lets get quickly a bit science into this, might help a lot of the new folks reading this understand. Light is the main ingredient beside water. To little or to much of both will hurt or kill your plant. A plant with perfect light and lower quality fertilizer will still out perform a plant under low light and pro fertilizer. The plants have three stages with different light demand. For indoor growing, to much is more often the danger during early stages. Germination and seedlings need around 250 micromol PAR light for perfect growing. Veg they perform best with about 500 micromol PAR light. You can also go up in stages during Pre but I usually just go full. Full means 1000 micromol PAR.. that seems to be the max the Cannabis plants can handle with the usual CO2 concentration and no, didn't grew on my shit ^^, I read that up, Apogee made some extensive studies on that topic. Over 1000 micromol PAR you need to add a CO2 generator to have profits. So you would just waste the energy without it. Grow light producers do those measurements and tell you how high to hang for the stages. If they don't provide a germination distance, just use the same distance they reduce for Flower and add that to Veg distance. To much isn't the best for the youngsters. But in general they provide Veg and Flower distance. If you never grew before and get no indication what to do.. will not add to a satisfying outcome. Indoor, nothing has more importance then your light!! Is also the most expensive.. so you better do your home work, if you do not buy from a known producer. If you order yourself and want to DIY.. those boards have several options, you go for the 3000k 660nm or 3500k 660nm version. I perfer the 3000k, others the 3500k.. read up.. you learn quite some on the way till you order your first gear. If you are not in the mood to read up... do yourself a favor and buy off the shelf a known and tested product. Will help your yield if you know how to handle the lamps. Rest is a bit a mine field of frustration. Not all of the stuff the guys sell is crap.. they just seem to have ordered a bunch of boards and thought all can get used to grow.. the UV boards would work too.. you would just waste the energy for the UV diodes.. as that helps nothing with your plants. If you switch a 450 Watt lamp on for growing, you go 1000 Rand Eskom on top of your usual bill (light will make heat, air needs to get moved). So wasting energy shouldn't be on your list.. the indoor setup will get over taken by the Eskom bill within a year. Is not just the gear.. the gear will constantly cost you money. When you have a 600 Watt lamp in and just let her "shine".. you waste 300 Rand a month on a 1.2x1.2 area. Saving now.. might not be the big saving at the end of the year. The more efficient you can run your lamp(s).. the cheaper you get out of this experience. For a total beginner, outdoor first to see if you don't kill all green things.. if you have a good outdoor result, indoor should work fine, if you give it the same attention. It just comes with way more cost compared to outdoor growing. So fuck ups indoor.. cost more. Buying the wrong gear will actually hinder you making progress. If your Lamp has a dimmer.. you will have issues to set it correctly without a quantum flux meter. Most lamp producers have em set on max and so set their distance to hang.. but if you get a lamp with a dimmer. You enter the world of guessing without a tool costing the same as your lamp. Keep that in mind if you go high performance lamps.. those all have a dimmer in general.

We come to the point, where people write they know what they do and researched.. but I just had a quick look over their website and checked the LED lights. Lets quickly Quote the website: We at Online Grow Shop have researched far and wide to make sure that we offer the new and up and coming South African Growers market the top of the range in both HID and LED grow lights. Lets jump in the LED selection and that REALLY made my head shake!!!! https://www.onlinegrowshop.co.za/product/300w-led-quantum-board-v3-with-additional-red-and-uv/ I post the link... since when in this corner of the Universe is UV part of PAR? What a waste of energy is that?!?! No research.. also didn't found a PPFD from any of the lamps they build and sell. How do they know distance to hang for the stages?? I do not see any research at all... sorry.. just importing kits and selling them as top notch grow lights. Hehehe still giggle, PAR stops at 400nm, Hombres Light can hurt your plants and yield. After those guys, you have to figure that out yourself. Just writing it on your website, doesn't mean you know what you do..
-
Amen to that, Brother... Price and Service of the guys just slap you in the face. If you have to go cheap.. wallet deflated badly.. import yourself!!! If you want to buy a light in SA.. look that you have a long time warranty in it.. that might come in rather handy. Second point is energy consumption. You want to use as little as possible with reaching your goal in yield. If you get a lamp with 600 Watt for a 1.2x1.2 area, the Mars Ts3000 is already waaaaaaaay more efficient. So anything drawing more as 450 Watt and you want to go 1.2x1.2 tent.. why on earth take the more drawing one???? If you extend it to the wallet game. The 600 Watt 12k lamp will be more expensive after 6 months than the 13.5k lamp running on 450 Watt. If the lamp provide a proper foot print, you can compare. If they don't.. you must be the god of grow lights to be able to know if the light will do the trick. Is like buying a race car with no kw or torque numbers of the engine. Think before you buy....

Nice profit on those lamps.. I should go into the grow light business ^^ I got my QBs for a 1.2x1.2 area for 7500...self import.. and I screwed the cables together myself.. and those boards are with Heat Sink, H version diode. 5.500 for screwing a lamp together in 10 mins.. not shabby. Looks like they spend the time after the lamp is done with drinking.. as they can't spend it on customer care.. there is NADA. Still nothing.. no lamp, no refund.. What PPFD foot print do they give you for the lamp?

And if somebody would like to get their own Serenade. Even Amazon sellers not shipping to South Africa. Go to www.planetexpress.com, sign up and you get a US Address. Then order over your new address, planet express will send it further to you to SA at a low charge added to the shipping. They also pool several orders into one parcel, less international shipping fees total in most cases.. and they are very very fast The delay will not be on their side. Service is tested already with quite a few parcels. Waiting for FloralNectar Pineapple, Banana, Blueberry and Fruitmix. Wanna test if it really enhances the taste as promised. Even I contacted the producer of FloralNectar directly, nope, only shipping US. So Planetexpress makes things rather easy for those cases.

I add my 10 week BioBizz sheet.. this is the feeding plan I give 10-11 week strains. As plants can't read you always have to use your brain and adapt to the plants current status. grow sheet10.pdf If you check week 7 on the sheet, it states 4 G (Grow), 4 B (Bloom) and 3 T (TopMax). I only gave 2 TopMax as the flowers are just not big enough and the stuff is expensive. I am also rather sure the Gorillas will do 11 weeks (Flush gets replaced with 4/4/4 and a flush week added).. I will late harvest them like all my weed for taste. During Pre-Flower I also swap Fish-Mix and Grow for each feeding and flower i stick to only grow (just for the added molasses in Grow). So again, you have to use your brain what to give when, some plants are faster, some slower. Is a bit why I was reluctant to post the sheet. If you compare it with the BioBizz 12 week table, you will notice the changes I did.. my 8 week sheet is even more aggressive. On the sheet I notice all changes I do. That way I have a easier puzzle solving, if I run into nute issues. If you note the starting Day (Monday for example) and cross each week you are in off, you never feed them the wrong mix. Without my grow sheets I would have a complete mess when I have several strains in the tent. Rest... you can't grow more relaxed and without any effort. I did beside feeding still nothing on the plants directly.. raising the light... that is it

On my friends side... no refund, no lamp.. just more emails to say sorry. Time just passes.. they ruined him a grow with their lies and moron circus, selfish little pricks. If nothing is coming this week, Police gets involved. Fun is over.. I actually start to get mad now.. how can you not be able to do what you promise for 2 weeks??? God damn liars... sorry.. supporting those dudes is just not good for the grow community.. like Cannabist.. the name is gone by now.

I have friends ordering their own Serenade now.. I gave them a little to test and next they want their own. Works like a charm, one spray. I even made a little test with some buds. Gave them a soft wash, let them dry and rest for 4 days. Couldn't detect any side taste at all, they were just PM free Nothing works like Serenade on PM

And here are the Gorillas.. middle week 7. I run a bit into space problems with the cam ^^ Day 4 Week 7

Which BioBizz products are you using?
-
Just had to check the seeds again.. and if I am not double mistaken.. you might actually get those seeds.. I think in my inner greed I took those seeds outside of the auto section Yummy stuff confuses me and I don't do fems. If that really is the case.. I send you the red mandarin fems once here.. just one condition.. you put a grow report up at growdiaries.com and here.

I am interested in anything tasty right now.. I focus on the US genetics. The Gelato left a bit of a heavy impression. Haven't had anything like it in years. I focus on 42FastBuds for this year, want to see if they are really just THAT outstanding. Sweet Seeds are US too.. so rather eager to check them out. The Bruce Banner from Monster Genetics is nice, hits, smooth and a light fruity, earthy smoke. Same.. not even close to the Gelato, different league. Is hard to explain.. FastBuds call it a Desert Weed.. and that really fits as description.

Procedure is rather simple. The auto gene is recessive but due to its unique character easy to spot. PP, Pp, pP will be photo plants you need pp to be an auto. When you made your cross from the Auto with the Photo, those seeds you put under 24/0 light, the Autos will flower, the photos not. Remove the photos, breed the remaining flowering into seeds and the result must be pure autos. I have regular Ruderalis here on Wednesday ^^ then I start my Swazi Gold Auto and Chocolato Project.

Also have a final result for the 3 Angels from Dutch Passion. Got a total of 187.1g dry dry ^^ i want to Honey Bee them, so dry dry is fine. 62g per plant average (for curing, would have to add some moisture again). Like the Dutch Passion Blackberry, is just not the same like the US autos. If the plant would have gone 20cm up more, she would easy have reached 80-90g. But all three were about the same size.. that seems to be it. Good news.. a 60cm high tent would work You could easy pack 10 of those in a 1.2x0.6 space. They hardly reached the outside of the pot (230x230, square). But like all Autos.. they form buds
-
had to raise the cam for the Gorillas today and the light. They are coming excellent in 24/0 so far. I might even lean out of the window and say.. I get 85-90g average from those babes. And the canape.. you can't really make it better with scissors all the mains are within 10cm distance. Very much impressed with those Royal Gorillas from Royal Queen Seeds... so far ^^
-
Most likely both sites.. i am not done with selling autos down here
-
Is part of the condition.. I have to post a diary for the free seeds.. nothing is really for free these days hehehehe but nice of the guys to let me test some of their beans
-
I have 4 diaries on Growdiaries.com .. and got contacted by Sweet Seeds yesterday, if I want to be a seed tester, they like my diaries. I wrote back: I only do autos . Answer: "Then just select autos ;)" Even have some humor. But had a catch, they only send the seeds to my German address, not to SA. Hope that changes when we get legal seeds or a working Post Office . But I made a quick selection, Cream Caramel, Green Poison and Red Mandarine (not fair only 3 from about 25 to choose from ).. 4 seeds each and free shipping American Breeders rock.. never tried Sweet Seeds, looking forward to the tastes of those three. My aunties just have to send it further If they would have send from the US, i would have used my Planetexpress account. Anyone has an idea why they all ship from Spain these days?
-
Fair point! If you look at it.. when I started growing, my first light nearly ruined me financially .. and compared to what we get now, starting to grow indoors was never cheaper.

Lets make a constructive change to your setup ^^ If you get 1.. just one Quantum Board 288 IM301B diodes, 3000k 660nm version (alibaba, aliexpress, where ever you find it cheapest (diodes are made from Samsung, you just pay the soldering ^^)), with heat sink and the fitting driver, around 120$ plus shipping.. you have enough light for your little setup. If that works and you are happy and you want to expand the space.. add another QB. Having a good light doesn't mean you will not kill the plant(s). But your path to the final product will be way smoother, beside, the final product is something you most likely will enjoy if you used a quality seed.

couldn't agree more. You will end in disappointment if you do not provide enough for a decent result. Most of us started with small cabinet installations. And you learn from those.. I can predict very easy the outcome. Your plants will have extremely fluffy buds. Due to no substance, they will dry very quick and so have a rather harsh taste of fresh hay when smelled and smoked. You have to cure those for a few weeks to get a smooth smoke.. potency will be very much on the low, so do not expect a coucher, even you do a late harvest. It needs energy to form substance. Light is beside water a key factor, not enough is just not enough. Only way i see your setup work is with a Autoflower.. she will do her thing as much as you starve her on energy (run those lamps 24/7, no need for a timer). I still would invest the Eskom bill into a bag of weed from the corner. You need a lot more light...

I agree, is expensive.. I just want to point out, Lumens is the wrong unit to look at in regards to plants.

Plant porn... would love to try all those African strains. I tried Thai in Europe total disaster outdoor. Plants started to flower when we got our first snow hehehe they didn't like snow either That post made my day, Thanks a lot!!
-
Sorry bro, you can trash that meter if you got it for plants.. Lumens and LUX are measuring units for our (humans) visible spectrum range. Plant see different.. a lot different. You use a PAR meter. It measures the photosynthetically available radiation (PAR). What the plant can actually use. If you want to read up more detailed, check this article: https://growguru.co.za/blogs/hydroponic/plant-lighting-demystifying-lumens-lux-and-par And when you look for LED lights, look to be in the 3000k range and have some 660nm infra red inside.. plants love it for flowering

You keep seeds in the dark.. if you glass them, also, warm but dark cabinet is best. Temp around 25 degrees to give em a little energy burst. Don't glass for longer as 12 hours or your seeds start to drown. If they pop, nice fresh seeds, I plant for fems about 2cm deep, for autos 1 cm deep. Not yet popped seeds I prefer to plate after glassing. Is just preference.. and no need to really do that. Most important, keep your soil warm.. 20-25C.. and moist but not wet. If your soil drops below 12 degrees, they get a cold shock.. below 10 they are most likely gone, if not, very very slow. Autos.. that is your first fuckup and your yield will be 1/3 of the originally expected. Germination has only two things to keep in the needed range. Temp and moisture.. if you work with fresh seeds, 48 hours after glassing they should break surface. But can also take three days to pop. Strangely, the slow poppers are not always slow growers... but in general they are. If your seeds pop after 12 hours in a glass.. you can put on a fat smile.. good fresh material.
