I didn't measure the draw exactly. Battery is rather old, made a test, worked ^^ so I went with it. I use a 100AH Lead Crystal Battery I bought 9 years ago for my 3d printer.. to compensate for Eskon outages Fully charged, I had the battery running with a 144, Veg only, for 3.5 hours and the 1000w inverter didn't went safety shut down. After 2.5 hours Eskom time, the battery charger tells me, 3/4 empty, as soon as it kicks back in. My next step are solar panels, at least have no cost during day time for power, not sure I wanna store 24/7. The 144 has build in ventilation and doesn't really heat up only on veg Costs: 100AH battery (about 2500 for a normal car battery or 3800 for a Lead Crystal dry battery (doesn't mind if you completely empty it, charges back to full with no hassle), 800 bugs Inverter 1000w (takealot).. I over sized mine, so it runs more efficient on low draw.. cooler. A grow light able only to do veg mode to save one buttload of battery power. Isn't that expensive if you calculate. Have a batch of germinated Gelato's in.. and don't give a damn about Eskom and 2 144 light up 1.2x1.2 (4x4).. what is my veg section in the big tent My tents ventilation is 12V too, my hydro tent (1.2x60) running a arduino system, giving me the top, medium and bottom temp, humidity and OK for all systems (fans and fertilizer flow) to my tablet. It also automatically mixes my hydro fertilizer(1ml exact), PH regulates it (0.1 exact) and when done, pumps it in the main tank for circulation ( that includes PH changes in the main tank, main tank PH is checked by the system every hour and lets me know if needed). Does the ratio mixing automatically for the week plan i selected, when I germinated the seeds, 8-14 week plan selectable. At the end I just want to play with the plants ^^ and clean out after each batch. Rest.. working on a laser distance sensor setup, so the light is always on the right distance (stepper motor), without me fiddling with it and the CO2 generators get 50% emptied and refilled with sugar water each day. I am a programmer and drone specialist, I really enjoy automating my stuff. At the moment i swap the light by hand, when Eskom goes down. I have the relays and volt sensors on order (post office here drives you nuts) to let the arduino system do the switch. I get lazy ^^ Hope that helped a little bit to get an idea how simple it is to take Eskom out of the picture.

Weed is like wine.. you store and cure it, it will improve in taste and smoke quality tremendously. Seriously, is like day and night. All weed I smoke, is at least 2 months cured. Those Bovida bags I bought once, 5 years ago... and use the same since. If a bag gets "grainy" from the crystallized salts, the bag(s) get their own vacuum container with a little cotton ball wet with water. When the bags are nice and elastic again, they go into the normal vacuum storage jar with the others and moisten out evenly over the next month till I use them again. So 5 years ago I invested something like 1000 Rand into bags and use them since.. 200 Rand a year, isn't really a wallet cruncher I blow 1000 Rand a month fertilizer into my plants.. is a huge waste not to cure that or you smoke your own nutrition's. Like good wine.. if you don't let it stand and ripe in perfect conditions, your 200$ bottle of wine is just vinegar in the beginning, after the right amount of time, you get a unbelievable smooth and tasty experience. Cure your weed! I think the drying and curing process is the most neglected tasks by most growers.. and has the biggest impact on your buds taste.

Why bother... dry it, pack it in a jar, add a bovida 62% and done .. whats is the humidity inside.. 62% need no hydrometer for that. After 9 month you have a smoke, you can't compare it to what you put in. The bags go both ways.. to wet they dry, to dry they re-moist. I thought these days everybody uses Bovida bags.. curing is such a mission without

Hemp plants want wet and dry phases. You keep em wet all the time.. pisses them off.. you keep em to dry.. pisses them off. I lift my pots to feel if they need water.. ok, I never ever give only water, there is always fertilizer going in... no exceptions. Run off... if you use fertilizers, let is run off every 2-3 watering, let it run off properly! You want to wash any dry concentration of fertilizer, which has formed inside your pot soil, if you usually water with no run off. So run off good.. dump it! If you ever have the problem that you screwed over your fertilizer dosage and the plant goes stall... water it heavy for the next 3 days and start fertilizer on half dosage, when your baby goes back to normal, put the fertilizer to normal. And If you go BioBizz for soil.. go the full step!! You need Fish Mix (vegetative state), Grow (is 75% fish mix and 25% molasses), Bloom for flowering and Top-Max when the buds reach finger size.. Top-Max is the secret to monster buds ^^ i very much recommend it!!! I use Rood Juice for the first week too.. forms about double the amount of roots in the same time as if you do not use it.

Make your own compost heap!!!!! Is the easiest thing in the world.. look for a shady corner in your garden, dump all garden waste there and keep it wet (stick a sprinkler from the irrigation on top). 6 months later you have pitch black fine soil to work with, beating any garden center by light years. Mix with perlite.. and you should have happy plants

Hi guys and gals.. wanted to say Hi and present myself. No South African, just here since 2001.. here = CT Had my first joint 34 years ago, planted my first seeds 32 years ago and ran my first indoor setup 26 years ago. Love weed.. can't deny it.. Uhh and I am a non-alcoholic.. for me is just weed, nothing else I have 3 tents: 2.4x2.4 4/20 lights (vegetative section runs over 12v battery inverter, Mars 144 Veg setting, one 100Ah battery runs one 144 3.5 hours, Eskom) 1.2x1.2 12/12 lights 1.2x60 dry tent with AC inside, 18C, 50% Using Mars lights (TS-3000(3) and 144(2)) If I have to describe me in 3 words: Quality over Quantity My preferred smoke: GSC Total Autoflower fanatic.. only do feminized, when the strain has no Auto version yet. But you can't beat potency of a Auto, pumping 20 hours (or more) of energy inside is a huge difference. I grow hydro (rock wool) or Soil (Freedom Farms, green bag), never done coco ^^ a bit the opinion.. you want it easy, you go soil, you don't have the balls to go hydro, you go coco Happy growing

How to start seeds.. the 12 hours in a glass of sterile water is a good start.. problem ^^ the swimmers are your friends.. the sinkers usually are not your best bet. After 12 hours of soaking, you need a few things: sterile water, 2 dinner plates and 4 sheets of paper towel (others love Ziploc bags.. i prefer plates, less squeezing). use 2 sheets together and place them on a dinner plate. cut all paper hanging over the edge off, less water loss and risk to dry out. Pour water over, the paper towels will stick to the plate, hold it up vertical and let the excess water drip off. Once stopped dripping, good. Do same with the other 2 sheets. Place plate, put 2 moist sheets on and then your seeds. Keep 2-3cm distance between each. Then cover the seeds with the second set of paper towels and the other plate on top (flying saucer style). In a dark room, check 24 hours later. Once your seeds are germinated and build some root 1-2cm.. use clean tweezer.. no touchy touch, your hands carry germs.. and transplant them carefully to the new home. Check that the head is UNDER the soil, that way the moisture of the soil softens the shell and makes it easy to pop off. If you let the head harden over the ground, it might simply decapitate your plant while it grows.. Soil is everything.. compost from the garden center will not really do the trick Happy growing!

Never had the need to wash off dirt ^^ But I water cure, if I had the bad luck of mold in a curing jar (hasn't happened since i ozonize my jars before use) or the weed is potent but tastes like old socks () . (Who doesn't knows water curing: Need a big glass jar with lid to hold your weed and a fine mesh and weight to put on top (just enough to keep all submerged). The only rule you must follow, everything must!! be submerged, no weed can be above the water line or have contact with air. Rest is simple. Put the weed in, fill up very gently the jar with sterile water (i use carbon filtered and UV treated, E-Spring), put mesh and weight on top. Put it in a dark spot around 18C degrees. Change the water depending on color, first 2 days most likely 2 changes, next 3 days one.. after 5 days the water should be more or less as clear as what you filled in, if not, go on till it is. Osmotic transfer is over and your buds are done and cured. Dry as usual (stick snap).. no need to cure anymore.. when dry, is smokeable) The smoke will turn out extremely smooth, and i mean very very smooth.. what is the good side.. but also extremely tasteless! as with the nitrates, sugars and other nutrition, washes terpines out too. I actually try to avoid any kind of wetting the colas during the last 4 weeks (yes they get a rain cover if needed ^^). Even the trichomes resin is lipophylic (likes to combine with fat), still washes with the water, as breaks off very easy. Not sure I would do anything to a bud, if no action is needed. So washing just because you can.. I wouldn't do. If you have muddy buds keep em out of the mud. And for sticky fingers while harvesting.. a single drop of olive oil and cleaning your fingers or gear becomes very easy.. plus.. still can eat it ^^ wouldn't smoke it
