Hey All, So I have 3 plants in my main tent at the moment and they all seem to be showing similar issues (although the one not as bad). I had this issue on the previous grow on one plant, but I am just not 100% sure what this is. Leaves seem to burn and yellow, and curl...its been multiple signs. On the previous run I was hit with Thrips and Fungus gnats, but this seems to me to be more of a nute problem? I am growing indoor, organic (Freedom Farm soils, and recently on the repot some of my own organic soil I made from a base of coco and then added a bunch of items). Bio Bizz nutes with compost teas when I get around to it. I usually ph my watering to 5.8-6.2 as per FF and BioBizz, but with my soil mix have basically aimed for the same. I did recently re pot the RQS Sherbet queen (big one and the small one) and the lucky packet seed I have got (other big more sativa like plant on the back left). Leaves seem to vary in colour from top top bottom. I was also away for a few days, but I gave them a nice compost tea before I left. The prdominent issue I had before and I feel am still seeing, is that some areas/blotches of a leaf would burn and die. Normally on the sides of the leaf. Thanks for any help in advance.

Its a solid concept, with a 'herbal' infused execution Having played paintball, I think besides all these other very valid points, the one that stands out the most is that, as Crex says, to begin with you don't have enough gas I would imagine. But feck I love a good out of the box idea like this As for alternatives, doing nothing, again as Crex said, is solid. Else, what about the soap and water spray trick? I know that works for a lot of pests. Something worth trying. Pyrol is out at this point, as is Neem IMO. I bought another product the other day, same company, called Vegol. Slogan is something like spray today, eat tomorrow. So I used it on my plants (infested with thrips) from like week 7-8. They turned out alright. And even though they say 'eat tomorrow', I still just did a plain water wash when I harvested.

This is an awesome shot, I mean I want to smoke that. Desperately. . But where is the pet? Don't tell me its a thrip or spider mite I mean, I am baked. So maybe I miss read the description or I am not seeing this right. Forgive me if I am being a twat I am keen for the comp. Will need to check my pics. Always have my stoner kitty helping me when I water and stuff

Thats a solid offer @Criptoe Nice one @Cannabist In the beginning (when I was learning 'more' Because I am still learning every day and grow ) I just practised with a lot of bag seed, and that really helped me with the big mistakes. Then I bought some seeds

I have one in veg now, also showing pistils like mad. As others have said and from what I have been told, its just showing sexual maturity. I am also planning to veg a while longer.

Organic pesticide to use in flower
Live Canna replied to wanna be dagga kop's topic in Indoor Growing
So the latest thing I was advised, at the local nursery, was Vegol. Its the brother to Pyrol, same company and apparently their slogan is something like spray today, eat tomorrow. I just finished a run and noticed the thrips too late. Its obviously a less potent version of an insecticide, but it did help I found, at least for late in flower. I then also did a simple water bud wash to be on the safe side. Then as most have said, preventative (as I have now learnt) is better. So I also got Neem to spray at regular intervals. I must say, this is an interesting take for me, thanks for the solid advice. I was going to spray mine every 2 weeks, but maybe I should bump that up. Will see once the seedlings are older.- 9 replies

I'm impressed, they looked great. Love the Bonsai bit

Meh, Feck it. I bought another light I am in. (Managed to sell some shit, so it made sense). Will fill in the form soon. Peace
-
Haha well done then! I really do need another light for a veg/mother area, then I will be golden

They really are looking great. Good colour there coming back

I am possibly keen, but just started a new grow. And also have the next grow planned. But who knows, maybe I get more lights I take it everyone is kind of going to start around the same time? I'll be in for the next one then.

You guys rock and thank you so much. Definitely a come back of note and really embracing that first bit of great service I received last year. Its great to see.

I had a similar situation a few weeks ago. Where I usually dry trim, here I wet trimmed a fair amount away. This I felt, helped, as the plant was in such a humid room, it didn't need more leaves to add to that. And I found that worked quite well. I also had 1-2 days where I left the heater on a bit and off a bit. It raised the temps a bit but shot the humidity down for a while + dried them a bit. We had tons of rain, so I was more worried about mould hence the more drastic measures.

Thanks bud, appreciate the added insight, I didn't know that. Lil' feckers Definitely the soil I added on top, can't see where else they may have come from. I will finish this run and then also give the tent a good clean. I usually do after every run. Thanks bud, I quite like that rule of thumb. I would need to look back on pics and see where she was at when I flipped to flower. I usually transplant just before flower and then don't touch her again. This gives them nice room to grow in for flower. I may be lacking knowledge here or not understanding. I am feeding the microbes, but I am not feeding microbes. Are you able to get beneficial microbes in SA? I know state side and Canada side you can get those things to add to the water, that then eat larvae etc. Not sure if that is what you are getting at? Thanks

Thanks a mil, thats what I was thinking earlier when I read about that stage. Really appreciate the help. Funny you say that. I looked at her just now and thought, hmm maybe time for a transplant. Had one like that on the previous run and that fixed her.
-
Oh and sorry, any advice re second plant? No thrips on her. I thought heat/light stress or over watering maybe
-
Thanks for the input bud, I really appreciate it. So in my image that is definitely a thrip then? Been reading how they lay their eggs. Shite. Well, I guess I will keep treating then until harvest. That puts it into perspective Had mites once outside, wow, what a mission. But I knew very very little then. I am proper upset with myself, as it came from the soil I top dressed with after I used it for compost tea. I got some soil from the in laws as they have a really rich compost heap they make year round with all their garden items. I have not had any indoor pest issues up until that point, hence my assumption as to where they came from. But I could be wrong.

So, I believe the GG4 has a potassium deficiency, from all that I have read, that seems like the most likely. Slightly burnt tips, browning and yellowing sides, etc. So I made some banana tea to see if that helps. For the pest problem, I think it is mostly eradicated. I found one more (thrip I think? Would appreciate confirmation) of which I took a nice close up. I checked under most of the other leaves and don't see any. But I will do another spray in the morning as a preventative measure. Seedling side I kicked most of the bag seed outside, not too concerned there. Left 2 inside, so watching those closely. Another plant (RQS Sherbet Queen) has some sort of other issue now, thought it may be light stress or over watering, so I have moved it away from the light a bit for now. Have attached that pic to for opinions? Thanks a mil.

Thanks for the feedback! So in my main tent I am running a Phoenix Sky 240w light. I raised it a bit to reduce any other stress, so I think its around 35cm-40cm away which is good. On the seedling area side I have an LED floodlight. Its really just to knock off a few weeks of veg. The seedlings have not had any nutes yet, as it has only been 5 weeks and they were still looking good. I have given them some compost tea. Thanks for the point though re having enough light to utilize a full dose, it does get me thinking of that aspect too. Been feeding every watering of the GG4 for the Biobizz nutes. Thanks bud, I also thought it may be more fungus/mold related. And that a good thought, as with all the rain we had, we did have around 80-85% humidity. I haven't gotten the extractor on that tent working 100% yet, but there is a little fan inside to blow it around. I read yesterday that Vegol can actually treat WPM, so going to maybe treat that plant with it too. But for now I am going to boot it outside then, I don't want to risk it attacking my others. Thanks for the confirming thought on lockout or deficiency. That one I am the least worried about though as the rest of the plant seems healthy. I did see some leaf tips that were yellow, so I was leaning more to the nute burn side, hence the compost tea. I think I will do another plain watering on the next one (post tea) and then resume with reduced nutes. Once other thing I did think of now also for the GG4 is that I top dressed with some alfalfa meal or something (need to check actually, but I think that was it). I was trying to give another plant some extra when it was still in there, and the GG4 got at the same time. In terms of the spots on the GG4, I definitely think this may be light burn from the oil in the Vegol when I sprayed with lights on. Rookie error there...I knew, but was more worried about the thrips. I see Vegol is like 97% oil, so that adds up. I don't think it is being affected by thrips anymore as I don't see any on there.

Alright, so I took some magnified shots of the one leaf in relation to issue 2.0 above. Think it was at about 60x. In any case you can see close enough to see the little leaf hairs. All these dots are definitely not mites and seem to rather be some sort of glob/liquid thing (mainly above, but with some below the leaf). My theory is that maybe its a deficiency and the plant is excreting something? I have never seen or heard of this before. Would appreciate some input, thanks!
