Ash and coal in the mountain area (Cape Town)
ORGANinc. replied to Stefan's topic in Organic Growing - Growing in soil
Its not a bad Idea to do that, but you can over do it easily with pot ash when amending a soil and that will cause your PH to go through the roof, I wouldn't go over 2% of the volume of soil. -
Does look really good! Noice☝☝☝

Not a bad build, light looks good, and fits the setup nicely. I suppose if you happy with it, then that’s all that matters

What's the bet it's someone with a close relationship to President seed, who probably saw your threads about them selling bulk seeds and now just on the rebuttal Bru , I would relax, take it easy and when you get the chance get B&B to remove the review as no seeds were sold. You obviously wont have a conversation with this cat about a fake review. Anybody who actually grows, would have left a critical review with something to go by.

Welcome! sounds like a recipe for success! I will be tagging along with the grow, interested in the Greenhouse cheese strains!

Welcome Don! Good to have more organic growers on the forum, there are some well versed organic growers here, I'm sure they will be very helpful. Please do share all your growing experiences too, we are all like minded fellow just trying to learn more. Feel free to post some of your grows and bud bud buddy pics!

That's a slick and convenient way to root clones!
-
Wow I have not seen those!

Very interesting leaf structure on the second one!

Cheers man!

That’s bb a type of fungus that paralyzes, and grows inside and threw many many insects. People say use in soil and foliar to control any aphids, thrips and I’m sure a lot of other insects also linked to a few cases of human interaction and bad stories.
-
Which one? me too but a very specific one.... heterorhabditis nematode, they say they put these in the states not for any type of control (althought they will be the only ones alive) but for the sheer amount of nutrient cycling that species can do. But whose to know, I always wonder... if there are springtales in my system and its a sign of a healthy system, where did they come from? the diversity can explode just by adding EM throughout the soil food web. Maybe its time to get a scope
-
I'm abit hesitant to use that stuff. Not sure if it will wipe out a big majority of the insects.

And Bassiana beuveria not sorting the thrips out?

The tarantula was chilled, I was more than drunk but still AF. and then it was over lol. Ya they are chilled. But I wouldn't touch any random spider and definitely not that one of yours bloody hell. Hahaha goodluck with that, sober me would have burned the greenhouse down lol jk.

Looks like you just about on time there bud, can repot now. Good rule is wait till the leaves reach the ends of the pot at least. Cool man!
-
But I have had a tarantula on my face one drunken night way back when, some woman in Northcliff keep them and pets lol

Better you and not me, Wtf! that's way passed any line I would draw. Is that thing poisonous?

Small update on some of the strains I was growing and some for a second time, this time was a bit better I think, but also could have easily sparked catastrophe due to a cal/ more so mag deficiency in my soil which caused me to lose the ghost train haze (caution was thrown to the wind). Never the less the other plants snapped back well. White Wedding - Ethos Strawberry fields (one got chopped up yesterday waiting for this one to show signs) Spumoni Slurricane Blunicorn (outside testing the new soil )

That twisted helix is shooting for the stars, nice one bro! Also keen to see those tortonis!

Recommended light distance power for seedling
ORGANinc. replied to Slartibarfast's topic in Indoor Growing
I've seen another way at which guys in the states are figuring out the LED, especially LEDs they say... Is obviously all the points above very effective for understanding the best range for each stage. However, having a general hanging height 40cm - 60cm and measuring the surface temperature of the leaf. Now this might have a 1 draw back that comes to mind now, which is unhappy plants are usually hotter they say. A good surface temp for the leaf would be around ambient temperature, then another guy from a commercial facility said 28 degrees was his sweet spot. One of the pro's in my mind regarding measuring leaf surface temp with a temp gun, would be the ability to get really close to that line of maximum availability of photosynthetic capacity of a certain plant. -
Howzit man! I'm trying to understand why you elevated the tent? Is it got to do with regulating the temp?

Greetings bud! Thank you for sharing your story! Goods to have you here, wishing you all the blessings, peace and love the future will most certainly offer!

I think neem or pyrol will be your best bet, Ive got an infestation of them on a tree outside, had to cut her almost completely bare to spray those things effectively, they create a white waxy bubble over themselves, that the same type?
