    From what I understand the pressed one, or one that needs to rehydrate, is at a bad pH and also contains parts or salts possibly, that you dont want. Many people recommend the ready to use coco and not the blocks, and I can agree with that, especially cheap blocks. I've had far better luck using ready use myself.
