Hey brother, All good and you? Nah, dont top an auto, and just train the branchs down so you create an as even canopy as possible. You dont even need to do that, just ask @Prom as he doesn't touch them at all and gets amazing results.
-
Ask the seller about the strains make up, and so on, then we see. I'm not saying anything about the seller and he sounds like he knows his stuff, though there is a good chance that you'd get better results with more of pure and selective breed of seed. I also have been growing bag seed as to say, like you, and have had decent luck, and say luck, as it was pure luck, the same seeds from the same plant, are giving me trouble now and I have almost wasted this grow and it's time because of it.

It's like the guys here like @CreX and @Promand many others will tell you, There is so much we can tell you and that we know, but to get it all out on one post or text, is so hard and there is more often than not, times when I sit afterwards wishing I had said this or that to explain or help make sense of why I say what I say and the meaning of it. Though, I'm always around and here to help, and will guide as best we can.

Very very nice, does he breed for seeds or was just from the plant when harvesting?

Winter Growing...
The_StonedTrooper replied to ShamelessAtom's topic in Organic Growing - Growing in soil
Comes down to what Bakstein said, Genetics, Indica will not stretch so much, around double Sativa, around 3 time bigger. You check the strain on the sellers site, they tell you the stretch. Your plant will not always go according to the days since seed, and rather go on the size of the plant for better accuracy, as your plant might have an issue or grow really well and then your time wouldn't be the same for the same size plant. -
Nooooooic selection Where are they from?

Of course yes, you cant play with C19. With me in the Eastern Cape, it wasn't an option unfortunately anyway... I was just expressing how much I'd enjoy being able to help, and really love being able to assist others.

Hey all, You always want to do your last watering as far from harvest as possible, not only will this push the plant to use it reserves but also bring out more flavour and smell, and will have no spare moisture content, this drying better. Try harvest in the dark period, even if you do 48 hours dark, and agree with this method very much. This will be when your lights would normally be off but after your 48 hours off to assure your plants are asleep. Plants when sleeping, will push all starches to the roots, these starches you dont want in your plant when harvesting as they are bitter and just another thing to remove in the drying process if it even all come out. You also dont need to do full 48, as 24 hours is as good, just out of it original for more than a day. Just like grapes or fruits, and a farmer will tell you this too, the more balanced and delicate the climate or schedule, the more delicate the harvest fruits are, or the wine of those grapes, but the best flavor and taste wines, are made from the harsh weather, cold spikes and dry times. Some say there is more THC doing the dark time, but at this stage that is honestly mostly done and its terpenes that are being formed, to make the smell and taste. The dark, and cooler time will help those not burn off from the light. They also kick up more of a stink and stickiness harvested in the cold and dark of night. Respect

New Auto Grow (first attempt from seed to harvest)
The_StonedTrooper replied to Tee_Aitch_See's topic in Grow Diaries
Brother, If I may, and didn't see a comment on this yet, but your temperature meter, the hygrometer thing is not reading wrong, but probably reading the temp in Farenheit not Celsius. The perlite top layer will help stop it drying out that bad and help with over watering, plus try the 100ml to a 1L watering. Just dont miss a day when the girls are thirsty -
Welcome Jacky, Glad to have you here and enjoy the stay

Sweet potatoes, The manufacturer's recommendations for the nutrients is a little high, and they want you to use more so you'll buy more quicker. I use way less than half their suggested. 2 ways to water with your setup, and that's like you are doing, but pull back slightly before runoff, and slowly over a period, doing a soil saturation type watering. Or you can, as I'm doing currently and also getting the hang of properly still, and that is you water only 100ml per 1L size of pot / soil, so 20L pot will 2L water, and every day or other day, and you'll need to know your plants well.
-
@Tee_Aitch_See Please remind me what nutrients you use again, in case I have seen it or you have written it somewhere before and cant recall? You say living soil, so will assume you have Biobizz or similar, and not synthetic nutrients? With soils, living or alive with Microbes, you ideally want to water just enough and have no runoff what so ever, With neutral mediums, and synthetic nutrients, you want to flush the old / stale salts in that medium out with the new feed and therefore replace instead of add to the mix. You can also if using organic or living soils, do a very cheap and easy, and extremely well working Perlite layer on top of your soil, and you'll have no gnats, or will you have the fan nor wind, drying your soil prematurely on the surface making you believe it's time to water and thus causing chance of over watering.
-
Hey brother, I believe the best is to not have the runoff touch the pot again, almost a gap between them if possible so that the old salts and such, dont go back into the mix and cause trouble. As soon as you see it stop flowing, best to remove it.
-
Like... F#@ker 1 F#@ker 2 And so forth lol I dont mind a few, but keep them in check with Neem.
-
I have found Cinnamon doesn't work, probably better at dampening off issues than gnats. 2 weeks in, still got the odd one flying around. Neem in a spray bottle, and spraying the surface of the soil every other day, if you want to preserve the Microbes, or a drenching if you dont and really want the gnats gone. Works 100%

New grower needing help choosing a light
The_StonedTrooper replied to BigBudD's topic in Starting Your Own Grow
There is a company called LEApH selling pH pens and TDS meters on Facebook if you need them badly. -
Oh yes, myself staying away from toxic things for my soil, and keep to the most natural environment as possible, glad you practice this too. I did only now read further than just look at the label, which is deceiving at best. Haha. They even make reference to, uneducated people or animals...what the hell? And again, in the soil DE is amazing for the silica benefit, is amazing stuff, as adding silica in bottle liquid form doesn't or can't get absorbed by the plant. The only thing is its mentioned often as a good pest control, but have yet to see that myself or found evidence thereof. Thank you for the invite too

Evening @Dank Thanks for that, and how come if I may ask? They make as if it's safe for pets and such, so hope it's not bad. Added, I've also seen diatomaceous earth scattered over mites and brushed more on, and then dusted more later, and after many hours, the mites had gone on like nothing happened. It didnt seem to dry them out or cause them irritation, they almost thrive after lol.

Thanks @Bakstein420 I see that stuff also does Army Worms and Caterpillars, and many other things, very good recommendation Added, I had an infestation of Army Worms last outside grow, and they ate the buds from inside out, bastards
