  1. There is a ventilation slit on the base of the cabinet which is raised off the floor slightly. I have also installed a 100mm bathroom extractor fan in the top corner of the cabinet which has not been switched on yet. Can feel air been pushed out from fan in cabinet. Went out and bought a thermo that I couldn't afford but needed I think. Good move. My cabinet has been sitting between 17 - 20 degrees with top half open during the day. Keep the cabinet closed now and temp sitting at 26 degrees and RH at 65. Although dropped to 14 degrees last night. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  2. I usually do that to my soil a few days before potting and let it dry out. Soil didn't seem to dry out as quick this time. So if my soil is moist/wet and depriving the roots of oxygen are you saying by flushing I'll get rid of some hot whatever's in the soil and get some oxygen back to the roots as the water soaks through the soil. Don't want to go drowning the ladies again. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  3. I changed to Just Cannabis at the 11th hour. I'm learning the hard way by planting directly into final pot and hopefully pull them back from being oxygen starved. I've also drilling a few tiny holes in the side of the pots, might work in helping to dry out the soil. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  4. I didn't want to say anything. Seeing I'm using this comp to learn the art of growing every bit of info is useful. Some may agree some not but each to their own. I've given the plants a light dose, let's see what happens. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  5. Update time. Here I was thinking I was blessed with a plant with minimal stretch only to find out the girls were drowning and getting a little chilly on top of that. Chilly because during the day the top half of the cabinet is open. Not anymore. I put a fan heater on the bases for a short while and then raised the pots off the floor by a few mm. I've also exchanged the clip on fan for a bigger one to help dry the pots out. Fan blowing above but not directly onto the plants for a gentle breeze. I have also taken a pencil and poked holes into the soil to try and aerate it. Drying out slowly but surely and at 17 days from potting I have stunted plants. Got myself a thermometer to help understand and control the cabinet environment. If any eagle eyes are wondering about the readings they are the garage temps.
  6. Big apologies. They were in the sun for about 3 hours to try and warm the pots up to dry the soil. Temperature was cold outside so I put them back in the cabinet with a heater fan blowing on the pots. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  7. Ha ha. Don't joke man. Just glad the sun was out my side today. Pots already feeling way lighter and back in the cabinet. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  8. I think we were all wrong on the plants looking thirsty. During a trimming session I got to thinking what I did different this time. Pop seeds in glass. Germinated seeds in jiffies. Jiffies into 10l pots. Nothing different so I started thinking further back. When I prepare my pots I give the soil a good soaking and let them stand outside to dry out while seeds are in the tot glass. Bingo. I'm indoors now and I've realized my soil in the pot is still super damp as we have had miserable weather this side. I'm drowning the seedlings or was I think. Got them outside today in the sun to try and dry them out bit. Hope I'm not breaking any rules by doing this but save plants is top priority. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  9. I understand all that it's just I've never added anything but water to my plants. Since growing indoors, well it's a totally different ball game and I'm constantly learning. I've learnt to always pay attention to the basics. Good soil tick, good genetics tick, good light tick. I'm busy trying to get my cabinet environment correct now then I can tick that as well. When you say feed what are you talking about product wise? Busy reading up on seagrow as I've got some on hand. This stage of the game is new to me, feed wise. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  10. So I decided to measure the differences between the 240w and my 2 x 75w @growopz lights that I have rigged up. Bearing in mind I'm using a phone app 500mm under the centre of the lights. Not accurate but a guideline. First 2 pics the 240w. Pic 3 & 4 the 75w's. I dialled the 240w down to 140w and measured in the cabinet so reflection from the walls help. Not sure. The 75w's are dialled in at 130w - 140w and no reflecting walls. So if anything the two lights are on par with the 240w slightly ahead. Let's see how the plants like them. I'll keep you all updated.
  11. They were thirsty. I read somewhere the seed has all it needs to get through the first couple of weeks food/nutrient wise. Seeing that I plant directly into a 10l pot I try and do as little as possible and let the plant tell me when it's thirsty. Sunday will be day 1 of veg stage and flip to flower 29 june working on 70 day flower time. So from Sunday everything changes. I usually water round the edge of the pot mainly using the knuckle test which should be every 3-4 days in my cabinet. I do prefer under watering than to much. Feeding I'm not sure about. Got a bottle of Seagrow sitting on the shelf ???? Training I've got a week or two to see if I can learn an easy method watching other grows. Probably gonna stick with bog standard LST. 12. Great community. I keep passing it forward as much as I can out here on the West Coast. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah. The first two weeks I don't give much water as I find the jiffy retains enough moisture for the seedling once it's in the soil. From this weekend I'll be watering the way you mentioned not only to encourage the roots to spread but to also minimize the risk of drowning the roots seen I've planted directly into the final pot. Thanks for the heads up as it's useful info in case someone didn't know about it or forgot. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  14. Pic's of the little girls. Giving them a little water round the base every other day. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  15. Almost reaching the end of seedling stage for me. I've given 2 weeks for the plants to do their own thing and sometime this weekend will be day 1 of veg. I seem to be one of the lucky one's that have had minimal stretch. The @Light It Up light is 600mm above @Totemic genetics and dialled down to 160w. Using various apps on two phones I am averaging what I think are good numbers on not so precise instruments. DLI - 27 PPFD - 390 Lux - 23 Having problems uploading pics out in the bush today. I'll try again later.
  16. Nice little tutorial. For us newbies every bit of info helps. I say newbie because I'm new to indoor (lockdown grower) but I have been growing outdoor for some time. Some may agree with what you say or disagree but there is useful information for people to sort through and make their own decisions. Nice, big up and keep spreading the info.[emoji109] Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  17. Good luck bud. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks man. Thanks to@Totemic for letting me grow this although I must admit I am still in the learning stage. This was a late plant in small pots and I still can't get over how easy the trim was. I might have a couple of seeds left which I'll put into bigger pots come spring and try some training. 19. Got soil ready and a better area cleared in the shade house waiting for spring. 10l pots this time.[emoji16] Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  20. I thought that was gonna be a problem but this light is unbelievably balanced. Now that you mention it though I think a couple more ratchet ropes is a good idea. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  21. Nifty little brackets slide into the heatsink for easy hanging. Unfortunately this is where I find out the hanging wires are missing. Damn. Plan made and light hanging nice and neat with minimal wiring in the cabinet. A power meter finishes off the light. So. I've you what the website says. I've given you what I got. All that's left is to put plants under them and keep you all updated. I'm sure I've missed one or two points I was thinking of mentioning but 'Then I got stoned'. Ah yes. The one point is that @Light It Up is busy with the making of a PPFD map.
  22. Man I suck at this editing. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  23. I've unpacked the light and all seems fine, no scratches or dings. The light comes wired for those like me who are electrically challenged which is a bonus. A 3m cable to the light allows you to place the driver in a position of your choice. The heat sink has a raised edge on the diode side for that added protection in case of mishaps.
  24. Just shy of week 16 I've decided it's time to start chopping. The ladies were not gonna survive the next round Mother Nature was sending our way. Decided to do a wet trim which gave me an opportunity to double check for bud rot as these buds are tight man. This little 3l pot grow produced the perfect plant to trim. Easy to hold between buds, hardly any sticky fingers and one very easy trim. Sorry about the bombardment of pics. So many to choose from. Some with flash on and some no flash.
  25. Just a quick peek. Day 7ish and all 3 pretty uniform for now.
