  1. Week 11. Ok, so my plants have been under the new light for a few days now and guess what? LIGHT BURN. Not only that but I realized that the LED tube light on the back wall is 6000k which I don't think is best for flowering so I removed it. I'm down to 10 plants now and decided to give another 2 to the rabbits as they were looking like males and didn't want to take any chances. So there are 8 left, still to many for the light but I'm gonna chance it. Still loading the plants onto the trolley and moving them into mother nature's light every day. My landlady seems to be just as interested on the progress as I am as she pop's around every day to have a Butcher's Hook (look) so I guess that's a green light. Time to set up the veg box. I have 200w of cfl's and playing around with the setup. Then I still have those under counter led strips and trying to get the specs from the manufacturer. If they are usable I'll rig the 2 of them and the 9w 6000k tube up and use that instead. Think I'll stick to 4 plants per cabinet from now on though. All in all I'm still pretty chuffed with the grow so far. You not gonna believe this bud's but I'm having trouble uploading pics again so I'll put them on in a short while. And that's the grow up to date. Not to worry though, there's still about 6 or 7 week's left till harvest and I'll definitely keep you peeps posted.
  2. Thanks man. I did exactly that and fed them to the rabbits. I caught a few of the male's early on but then another 2 snuck up on me and hopefully I removed them in time. Concerning the seeds, if they were what I was told, a friend who gave them to me said they are Jack Berry. I'm using the seeds from my 2nd outdoor grow so they obviously have been contaminated. Am I correct in this assumption. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks for all the help guiding me through and advising on lights Bud's. You know what it's like, not having a clue on what you looking for and then buying something and wondering if you made the right choice. Judging from all the thumbs up I'm feeling whoop whoop about the light. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  4. Hey Buds. Quick question. If it says 8-9 weeks to flower, is that from seedling or from when you flip to 12/12. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  5. Stay away from pig manure buddy. There's a reason a lot of vegetable farmers don't use it. It carries parasites such as Roundworm, has a low nitrogen level. As a rule with manure, no human, dog, cat or any thing that eats meat and shit. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  6. Week 10. Ok, so I have my new light QB75 from @growopz. Can someone please tell me the difference between a quantum bar and a quantum board. I've hung the light and mounted a 9w led tube on the back wall. I was considering chucking in a few of the cfl's but managed to stop myself. Slow down hombre. I know I have to many plants for the light I have and am silently hoping for a few more male's. Everything looks good from the top but still a bit thin on the bottom. Apparently Jack Berry does not have an abundance of leaves, only where the bud's form, but I'll read up more on that. Gotta get that veg cabinet up now.
  7. Week 9. Week 11 will be the present. Okay, everything still looking good but it's like watching paint dry. The plants are finally saying hoesit, I'm a male, get me out of here. At this stage the rabbits each get a plant to munch on and I get more space in the cabinet. By week 11 I have 8 plants from 15 that are female. I'm happy and my wife is harassing me to start the next grow. Welcome back load shedding. Never thought I'd use my 2000kv riot control tazer to grow ganja, man but does it have a powerful light. Whoa, stop the train. I've picked my light up from @growopz. Out come the cfl's and in go the led. Can I go play with the big boys ma?
  8. Hey there @afternoon blazer. Tea time is when it warms up where I am, usually misty and a chill in the air until then. They on 12/12 now. I'll be continuing the CRAZY later this evening once the baba is fed and put to bed. Stay tuned in. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  9. I've picked up a bad habit from my succulent growing. I tend to agitate the top of the soil (2-3mm) for moisture reasons. Anyway, I do this with my plants a day after watering firstly for looks. I like the look of freshly turned soil. Secondly, the process exposes eggs and larvae to the lights and elements and kills them. I've been doing this for years with succulents, maybe that's why I don't seem to have gnat problems. Or is my grow environment incorrect that I don't attract them. Just a thought to throw out there. 10. I have cinnamon power in my soul mix. Don't know if I am lucky but I have not had a gnat problem yet. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  11. Week 8. The plants are in the new cabinet and I'm feeling whoop whoop. The cabinet size is 1000x600x1600mm with the option of adding another unit to make it 900mm deep. How many plants would be optimal in this area. I have to many at the moment. The shelves are adjustable so I just drop them as the plant grows. Just by changing the light distribution the plants are improving but still not bushy. I'm popping them on the trolley and moving outside round tea time once it's nice and toasty. They still not bushing out, meant to be Jack Berry given to me by a friend, so I'll read up on the strain. These are the seeds that I got off the 2 outdoor grows (chucked in pot, and left in variouses places round the nursery) until they were ready. They got watered when it was nursery watering time. That's my experience growing. I'm busy chatting with @growopz about a QB75 without a power supply as I have one and budget budget budget. Almost caught up to the present so stay tuned. Spliff time.
  12. Thanks bud and you @StickyD420. I wanted to get this right the first time round. Coming from cfl's I'm yet to experience the power's of led. I don't want to be tempted to hang the lights to close.
  13. Hey there @Tee_Aitch_See, you all good? I was wondering if you found the sweet spot for the light. I'm not sure on what heights to work on. If you raise the light does that equal more coverage for more plants. Are there different heights for veg and flower. And lastly, what size pots you got there. I could trial and error but my plants are a week or so into 12/12 and I don't want to cause kak. Would appreciate any info you have learnt using the light.
  14. Week 7ish. So I've decided to build a bigger cabinet by slapping 2 shelving units together and use 1 of the other cabinets as a veg box. Trying to improve the lighting somehow. I've attached cfl's and a led tube light permanently and the shelving I'll lower as the plants grow. Not the ideal way to use cfl's, I know, but hoping I'll get better light distribution than my previous setup. Oh, by the way, my plants have been on 12/12 for about a week now. I have also started chatting with @growopz to see what he can do for me concerning LED's on a very small budget.
  15. Hi there @420. Every bit of assistance helped getting me to where I am now. Thanks again.
  16. Yeah, so I've been giving it more thought and gonna give it a try. Setting up the veg cabinet this weekend. Once again, great advice and help on this platform.
  17. Week 6. My plants are going through a bit of a growth spurt now. They are getting taller but don't seem to be bushing out. Once again I put this down to my lack of experience with lights or is it something else. Doctor Google. My soil seems to be ok, I'm not adding any nutrition and I'm reading pH levels are important. Check water pH. We have a 160m deep borehole that draws from the Atlantis aquafier or whatever the proper name is. 6.5 - 6.6 which I believe is not bad. To many plants and not enough light I'm thinking. Unfortunately I did not photo journal this week.
  18. Morning @SkunkPharm. Thanks for the thought. Yes I had considered the spot light but after researching a bit my feeling was that my cabinets were a little on the small size and was not sure about the heat. I've settled on the QB75 from @growopz which I can add onto as and when cash lands in my Sky Rocket (pocket).
  19. Thanks again. This Go search engine also seems to be faster.
  20. Believe me bud, I tried everything mentioned except restore factory settings. But hey, it's working. Once again thanks for the guidance.
  21. Ok I'm back, am able to post pics on a search engine I installed. DuckDuckGo. I'll carry on with the tale once the little one's put to bed.
  22. BINGO!! Installed duck duck go search engine and my problem is solved. Thanks for all the help and patience.
  23. Was thinking the same. Add on until I need a better power supply. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
