  1. @Farmer Brown thank you for sharing good sir. That's why I love this forum. I have never used any of the two suppliers you have mentioned but I had a quick look at both websites. My next seed purchase will most definitely be through African Smoke. They have a very cool website that's mobile friendly and you won't get confused with the quality of genetics on offer as it seems they only stock top shelf gear. And to top it all off they have a Helping hand project page where they work with charities. One specific chairty that caught my eye was Wollies Animal project. Much love for Wollies with the wife an avid supporter and us having a Wollies adoptees. So explaining purchases to her will be a lot easier
  2. 32 days since germination and most of the ladies took very well to the first topping run.. all except Wedding Gelato. I had a chat with a friend and have a slight suspicion that I might have had a bag of hot soil that I used when I potted her. She was the only lady to show drastic nutrient burn without a nutrient schedule even being applied. As awesome as the mate could be he gifted me a clone cutting to fill the void of the inevitable dying Wedding Gelato sad but let's move on.. By this weekend I will be doing the second topping on all the ladies and the first topping of the late entrant, Chocolate Haze. Glookies Uppercut Chocolate Haze
  3. @Onion great stuff man. Yeah we do have some epic landraces that flourish in our environment. Currently I have some different strain ladies chilling in the tent and then we also run some herbs and veggies in a mini greenhouse. We currently have rocket, basil, coriander, dill and pumpkin. All of them germinated from seed. So not really as extensive as your list but you have to start somewhere. And on a side note we got our first swarm scouts checking out our beehive this spring. So hopefully some honey soon as well Happy growing brother
  4. In Gauteng we can readily get Gorilla Mix royale cultivation soil by Watershed. Quite well known here..
  5. Looking beautiful man So was that a 64 day flower for Slurricane? Your leaf colour and structure still looks insane so late into flower. Your shits dialed in man!!!
  6. I love your style brother. Very healthy looking plants you have there. I am excited to follow this grow. Will most likely learn a shit load about organics as you seam to champion the notion. Big up the veggie selection, but where's the beans bro?
  7. Today was the day for the first topping of the mainline run. Very sad to see bushy plants stripped to the bone all for the sake of some thick and dense ass nugs.. but nevertheless the growth rate of the ladies will see them recover in no time. Definitely the two front runners for aggressive growth and super tight node structure would be Glookies and Upper Cut. Some of the cuttings were treated with rooting powder and fixed in peat pellets to supply a mate with some clones for a run. One positive of the mainline exercise is the intense amount of clone cuttings one can take while shaping the mainline. On the negative though I feel you do lose veg time as the ladies have to recover and bulk back up before the next topping and trimming hits. Only the late entrant, Chocolate Haze, was spared for this exercise Before After
  8. So 22 days in I am very happy with the growth. But I am starting to see some issues with my wedding gelato. Not sure whether it is wind burn or the fact that I didn't PH balance my water for the first couple of feeds? I have started feeding Worm Juice with Calmag and slight molasses with a PH range between 6.3 and 6.7. Within the next week I will consider topping some of the ladies to start the mainline training. Franco's lemon cheese was killed in action - RIP so Chocolate Haze will fill that void. One day I will do a K.I.A run for all those ladies that didn't pull through on germination. Wedding Gelato Glookies Upper Cut Old school Purple Queen Chocolate Haze
  9. So we are 15 days in since the 6 seeds were dropped in peat pellets. All the ladies are rooting very nicely. Franco's lemon cheese is almost there but not sure whether this shock early on will stunt the rest of her growth? The back up Chocolate Haze germinated successfully and was transplanted during the week. Still just sticking to very light watering every 2nd or 3rd odd day. Hoping the inherent nutes in the soil will last for 3 to 4 odd weeks. Stand out lady is already identified as Glookies. Super fast growth and very very tight node spacing. Glookies Purple Queen Chocolate Haze
  10. Hi folks. So I've been following the forum and learnt a lot from fellow growers. This will be my second indoor run so I thought I might as well start a little grow diary. I have a thing for running different strains and trying to experience some of the fire genetics on offer. So in this cycle I will be running the following: Wedding Gelato - Royal Queen Seeds Purple Queen - Royal Queen Seeds Upper Cut - Oni Seeds Glookies - Barney's Farm Old School - Ripper Seeds Franco's Lemon Cheese - GHSC Chocolate Haze - Royal Queen Seeds *(Back up)* I started germination on the 19th of September with all 6 feminised seeds going straight into peat pellets. No water or wet paper towels for me, I have had 100% germination success with seeds straight into pellets. For some reason I feel handling the seed less during germination might be better. That being said... during the transplant from pellet to pot I accidentally broke the tap root of the Franco's lemon cheese in half.. It seems like the lady started growing sideways and when I removed the pellet from the tray the tap root snapped in half with that said a Chocolate Haze went into a peat pellet as reserve and I transplanted the broken Franco's with the hope of recovery. To my surprise Franco's started growing a new tap root without any cotelydon showing yet. So nursing her back to health now. I cut of the gaas from the peat pellets before transplanting to the final pot as I feel some of the gaas might stunt root growth by not allowing easy penetration through the meshy material. So today will be day 9 since germination and I am seeing some nice 2nd set of leaves developing. I also did a soil tup up today to get some of that stem shooting some extra roots. I will be running a full mainline training exercise in 20l pots on all the ladies bar those that might not like the High Stress Training so much. Looking forward to sharing the experience and getting some experienced growers to impart some knowledge. 19th September 23rd September 28 September
  11. Thanx a lot brother. I will be harvesting by the end of the week and I am very happy with the buds that formed with this training technique. Definitely a method to recommend for anybody who wants thick nugs and little to no popcorn. Big up to @TheUltimateNoob for starting the thread. Washing machine Chemdog millionaire Peyote WiFi Gorilla Kim #1 Gorilla Kim #2 OG Kush
  12. Man to be honest I love the idea of a full mainline with a nice equal canopy spread. But with my limited lighting initially my hand was forced to an extent. So the next run will be a full 8 cola mainline on 6 ladies. (Learnt a lot from this 1st indoor grow) I got some additional 300w from @growopz while in flower and that made a crapload of difference. So that will make it 400W for the next run. The only problem with the training would be the different strains reacting differently and on the next run I am not doing myself any favours Next run will be: Franco's lemon cheese, wedding gelato, glookies, purple queen, upper cut and old school. So quite a challenge for a tent..
  13. Shit I know this should probably go to the grow diary space but I just wanna share the rest of the ladies even though they didn't make the flux mainline cut while vegging under the 100w. They still followed the same topping and training schedule though. Gorilla Kim #1 Gorilla Kim #2
  14. Thought I'd update a bit on my 2 flux mainline flowering ladies. Shoutout to all the forum farmers that gave some input and for @TheUltimateNoob for the initial spark. Both ladies have exceptional quality with the Washing Machine growing like mad and some big bud development. Then on the other hand the peyote WiFi is building some tricome like mad. I am currently on day 53 since 12/12 flip. Washing machine Peyote WiFi
  15. Happy that your back brother. Yeah I checked your situation in your Ethos thread.. whack stuff man. I hope you solve your conundrum.
  16. It's taken on a purple shade now. Super excited how it's moving along
  17. Much respect brother. What you are doing is epic and your plants look amazing.
  18. Love this post. Practically speaking that design must be quite robust with that huge size. Would probably cost cheaper in SA to build a grow room from brick and mortar. But back to the dream though, imagine that tent full of beautiful plants in all shapes and sizes
  19. @TheUltimateNoob thank you for that heads up bro. I will stick to the stakes then. How's your other projects coming along? You still gonna try the main cola run?
  20. @afternoon blazer thanx brother man. Yeah I am very happy wth the progress taking into consideration that I only vegged the 6 ladies with 100w QB. Only added 300w a short while ago. The Gorilla Kim has got some amazing colours pushing through. Like a red undertone.
  21. @TheUltimateNoob very true man. So for the next round I will also more actively adjust the stakes and soft training wire like you mentioned. I will also make more use of the training loops in my fabric pots. I also noticed on another thread that you use a skewer scaffolding manoeuvre to flatten the canopy. That might help to ensure more tie down points and less probability for the stakes being pulled out?
  22. @afternoon blazer yo man. Happy to give an update. I ran the full flux mainline on 2 ladies but due to insane growth of one lady I had to flip to flower earlier than I thought. Today is the end of week 3 since the flip to flower. I will also be able to tie down a bit better for a more broader and even canopy spread next time round. This is my 1st indoor grow so I learnt a lot through the process. The ladies grow so vigorously that they will yank stakes from the ground in order to grow vertical again, so a proper tie down without damaging the stem is crucial for the nice horizontal mainline. I will also try the Nugbuckets mainline for the next run as I now have better lighting. Peyote WiFi Washing machine Chemdog millionaire Gorilla Kim
  23. Hey bro. Looking great!!! What training techniques did you use? It looks like a mainline. All those colas are super nice and uniform. Well done.
  24. @BlakDogg great man. That's good to hear. I also had a read up on some LED forums and based on the efficiency increase from the EB2 to the EB3 gen they seemed quite hyped up. So I am excited to five the rig a go. I have to say for a DYI effort your workmanship is top notch.
  25. Hey bro. I am in the process of buying a Bridgelux EB3 strip rig to compliment my HLG 100 QB. How did you find the Bridgelux strips?
