Hello Growers May be a stupid question, but is it possible for an exhaust fan to be too powerful for an indoor setup. A year ago when I started growing indoors I had an exhaust fan in the top of my 2x2 grow tent. For the first few grow attempts my plants were unhappy and yellowing and no idea why, I looked at my soil, my water, basically everything that could cause this problem but absolutely nothing I did fixed the problem. I tried many different thing yet I got the same result. It wasn't until I decided to turn off my exhaust fan and only leave a normal oscillating fan outside bottom of my tent to push air through the intake vents therefore forcing the air out the top hole where the exhaust fan was. Since then all my problems were resolved. I was extremely confused as I always thought the more airflow the better right? Outside in nature there's so much wind and constant airflow I would never assume that was the problem. Would like to know if anyone could give advice on why this is? Am I crazy? Is there such a thing as too much airflow, or too much negative pressure in the tent not allowing the plants to "breathe" because theres just too much airflow? Sorry if this sounds extremely stupid. Just very curious. Because since I turned off the exhaust all my problems disappeared. Was thinking about turning on the exhaust again because I need to exhaust the hot air building up from the lights. I don't have a speed controller on my exhaust fan. Basically would just like to know if there is such a thing as too much constant airflow in the tent. My bottom fan is oscillating so it gives a few seconds of rest for the air intake into the tent. Thanks guys

new light 120w Quantum board + Mars Hydro 48 reflector
Spaidan replied to Spaidan's topic in LED Lighting
Hey man I took your advice and added a small clip on fan insid my tent and I moved the driver off the heatsink. Stupid question but should I have the fan pointing directly on the side of the QB board, or should I have it under neath the QB board more directly on the diodes. I have included a photo please let me know if u think it's perfect where it is or if I should raise or lower it Sorry for rookie questions. FYI the board use to burn my hand badly if I kept it on longer than 15 seconds. Now the board is cool to the touch, do u think my fan placement is optimal- 22 replies

new light 120w Quantum board + Mars Hydro 48 reflector
Spaidan replied to Spaidan's topic in LED Lighting
Thanks for the advice guys, if I simply cannot move the driver outside, how about I mount the driver with spacers nderneath and place it on top of the mars hydro reflector, since it doesn't get hot and the fan inside the box of the light will blow directly up towards the driver. Is this advised? And I definetely am planning on buying a small fan to add inside the grow tent for airflow on the quantum board- 22 replies

Hello growers Would love some advice from an experienced indoor grower. For the past year I have been growing cannabis indoors using a Mars Hydro tent ( 80cm x 80cm x 160cm) with the mars hydro 48 reflector led light. ( bought the combo and light is 100w blurple led) I've gotten good grows however I felt like I wasn't getting enough light coverage and intensity during the later phases of my growth. Recently I bought myself a 120w quantum board, which has a HLG meanwell driver and Samsung lm301h diodes. There is also a dimmer attached to the quantum board. I would like to know if I should start off the grow with both lights on? Or should I start off the grow with the mars hydro and then turn on the quantum board when the plant hits veg stage. Was thinking of starting off the grow with both lights on (Mars hydro 48 reflector + 120w quantum board) and dimming the quantum board to around 50%. Would really like some advice, not sure if I should be dimming the quantum board at all? Am I safe to run both lights at full strength? Should I only go full strength with the 120w quantum board for flowering? Please help P. S with regards to distance of both lights, they are maxed out at the top of the grow tent and I can't raise them anymore. Plan on growing one single photo period and vegging it out to fill the tent before flipping to flower. Will include photos of lights and tent Thanks guys happy growing

Hello guys and girls Was interested in gaining some knowledge on this topic. I'm about to start my next indoor grow with a soil I've never used before, Orgasoilux. In the past I've used FF soil with biobizz, but I feel it's time to transition into true living organics with Orgasoilux. For a couple of months of been brewing and feeding compost tea to my soil and my plants are loving it, however a product by the name of Explogrow has caught my attention. Since this product includes all the microbes needed for my plant do you guys recommend I use this product instead of brewing compost tea? Should I use one and not the other or can I benefit from using both? I don't want to over complicate my grow however I truly want to make sure I have a strong presence of microbes in my soil. I plan on feeding the microbes with molasses every week. Any suggestions from anyone who has used Orgasoilux or explo grow? Would greatly appreciate the help. Still consider myself a novice grower, however I'm extremely interested in true organic grown cannabis. Would also like know if it's neccessary to top dress before I transition to flower with some worm castings and dry kelp? Or will the orgasoilux take me from seed to harvest without any amendments or additives besides molasses. Any feedback or advice will be much appreciated. Happy growing. ( I plan on vegging out the plant for about a month or 2 before flipping to flower)
