  1. @420SA and @GLO, what I was saying is that because my medium was drier than before the root growth exploded in comparison to the soil that was over watered. The roots were basically circling the bottom of the pots. After the pot up, the roots showed at the base again after 3 days. Anyways, that's just what I found with my girls I haven't potted up since then.
  2. @cheese420, what I've noticed with my grow, I also potted up into a bigger one that I should have, growth was slow, I also over watered in soil. When I switched to coco I was already watering alot less, I think because I was letting the coco dry more than it needed too, the roots quickly filled the new pot in search of water, after 2 weeks I had to pot up again. Since then I've been watering more often, but with less water, sorta keeping the medium moist but not wet. They seem to be happier with that. They get 500ml a day, there's about 100ml run off per plant. Alice, has less run off, about 40/50ml. That's just my findings though...
  3. Good idea on the eye drop bottle @Skolley! Totally feel you on sticky syringes, I use them at work, such a mission when they stick. I'll try the pharmacy later, but at the same time, I'm not going to try the pH down without the pH pen. I've been missing around enough with out it. I may just cause more problems down the line. So what do you think, if it's not a gnat problem, lock out?
  4. Shot Skolley, I actually checked it out last night after you suggested the gnats. No sign of any critters, that was with the fans off. I'll keep monitoring though. Do you think I could get those pipettes at the pharmacy? I ordered the pH up and down and it arrived yesterday. Thought I could use a syringe, eish.
  5. Sup @cheese420, I've been using that shitty thing all along, tested it on lemon juice between readings, it wasn't off by too much, but still not close enough to what we want. Anyways, pH pen's in the post so hopefully this will be the end of the issues. Used lemon juice in the water to bring down the pH, I'm not brave enough to use the actual "pH down" without the pen. Have you ever noticed how heavy that bottle is?
  6. Your guess is as good as mine @Skolley. Those leaves do look like one of those google searches. I'll investigate some more, but I haven't seen any bugs of any sort in my cab to date. I check under the screen everyday coz I have to tuck often. Anything special I should be looking for? Shot for spotting it.
  7. So over the last few days I've been battling with what I thought was a CalMag deficiency, but when I noticed shit was getting worse I did some more research. Turns out I have a pH issue... and a rather kak one at that. Possibly even lock out. Measured the medium on Monday. pH was around 6.8 with a shitty meter, so I've been flushing since then, +-10 liters a day with water pH'd to roughly 5.8 with the shitty meter. So far, so good, they're looking better than before, colour seems to be coming back. The pH is now roughly 6.2 The leaves I plucked this evening. The reading's from Monday
  8. Nothing from me this month @420SA, my plants look like kak, pH problems...
  9. +1 @420SA, I water mine every 2 to 3 days, ambient temp dependent. once you know the weights, it becomes easy
  10. Shot guys, it's settled. Thanks for the link @Skolley! I saw they're liked R800 but this site's quite a bit cheaper! Does it matter if the meter has the ACT feature or not?
  11. Howzit guys, So I've been looking at getting a cheap pH test kit and pH up and down to go with it. I have a shitty pH meter I got from the local nursery, so that'll have to do until I have bucks for a decent pH pen. This is what I'm looking at getting. https://hydroponic.co.za/hydroponics/ph-testing-kit/ https://hydroponic.co.za/hydroponics/liquid-ph-up/ https://hydroponic.co.za/hydroponics/liquid-ph-down/ Any advice before I order?
  12. I grabbed 4 seeds for when I know what I'm doing
  13. @Ajcapetown should win just for this picture!
  14. Yussis! I wonder what these plants are gonna yield!? I don't think I've been this excited in a while.
  15. @Glo, is it safe to trim the rest of the leaves under the screen in one go? It's quite a bit. I don't wanna be chopping anything during flower.
  16. Thanks @Skolley and GLO. Will keep ya'll updated!
  17. I don't think the others will show until they get 12/12. It's almost 3 months in veg.
  18. Maybe if you bury those stems when you pot up? :thumbups
  19. @kimcarsons, the initial layout with organics is pricey. Especially if you wanna go completely organic. Soil needs to be cooked and so on. Maybe my next grow will be organic, but only time will tell. My bokashi composter is about half way, once that's full, I'll start my soil. Earthworms are shitting up a storm, so I'm closer to organics than I was in the beginning. Right now, what I'd like to know is, should I flip them yet?
  20. I woulda loved to be an organic nut too, but sadly this route was cheaper... On the up side, I'll be attempting an organic grow in future. I'm busy sorting out my soil and so on, my worms are doing their thing, but for now, it'll have to be the nutriplex route. So what do you say? FLIP?
  21. That's correct @GLO, it's the size of a styrofoam cup. All 3 of them were sprouted in JGS orgasoilux.
  22. Hey CK. Espom is great but using too much will cause salt build up which will throw your PH all over the place. Maybe use it every 4th feed. Do you ever water with just PHed water no nutes? It's good to alternate waterings with clean water and water mixed with nutes. You'll also get salt build up from the Nutriplex(or any chemical nutrient) if you don't flush your coco regularly. This is what you should consider supplementing with instead of epsom. It's what I use now in hydro http://growguru.co.za/shop/cal-mag-calcium-magnesium-supplement/ Shot @420SA, I have that CalMag, but no instructions... Pointers please I do water with plain water between feeds. This is the 1st time I've watered with nutes consecutively. My tap water's pH is around 6.8, my medium's pH is the same.
  23. Yeah, I figured I might run into that issue. Wasted grow space and so on. I'm not sure about the capacity in liters, I just know they're 20cm pots. I have an empty one I can measure tonight. Ok, I think I'll do another nute feed and see how it goes, but I recon if I'll flip them on Sunday. It was meant to be a test grow anyways. As for my grow medium, all of these plant were started in JGS, then potted up into CCPS. If I used Biobizz instead of Nutriplex, would the grow still be considered "organic"?
  24. Thanks guys. @GLO, I haven't sexed them yet. Maybe I should just flip it and remove the males if there are any. Only one is a confirmed female, The other two haven't shown yet. Cutting clones isn't really an option, I only have the one cab. I wanna flip ASAP, scared they'll get root bound coz they're already in their final pots. Thoughts? Also, do you think I can feed with some the epsom salts solution again? I fed epsom and water on Wednesday, nutes on Friday and again yesterday. They're due for watering tomorrow again.
  25. Upgraded... My new and improved CFL housing with makeshift bird wing reflector I'm sure if I wasn't stoned most of the day, I woulda taken less than 4 hours to make this Then to the guys who scrog, should I let them fill the net more or should I flower now?
