  1. Howzit guys,

So I've been looking at getting a cheap pH test kit and pH up and down to go with it. I have a shitty pH meter I got from the local nursery, so that'll have to do until I have bucks for a decent pH pen.

This is what I'm looking at getting.

    Any advice before I order?

  2. Guys I see green smoke room has a sale.100bucks on all strains.. Jus tawt I'd let u all know. I'm interested in getting some new strains for a new grow but unfortunately they have no cheeses in stock..

I grabbed 4 seeds for when I know what I'm doing :-hilarious

  3. @kimcarsons, the initial layout with organics is pricey. Especially if you wanna go completely organic. Soil needs to be cooked and so on. Maybe my next grow will be organic, but only time will tell. My bokashi composter is about half way, once that's full, I'll start my soil. Earthworms are shitting up a storm, so I'm closer to organics than I was in the beginning.

Right now, what I'd like to know is, should I flip them yet?

  4. I woulda loved to be an organic nut too, but sadly this route was cheaper... On the up side, I'll be attempting an organic grow in future. I'm busy sorting out my soil and so on, my worms are doing their thing, but for now, it'll have to be the nutriplex route.

So what do you say? FLIP?

  5. Also, do you think I can feed with some the epsom salts solution again?  I fed epsom and water on Wednesday, nutes on Friday and again yesterday. They're due for watering tomorrow again.

Hey CK. Espom is great but using too much will cause salt build up which will throw your PH all over the place. Maybe use it every 4th feed. Do you ever water with just PHed water no nutes? It's good to alternate waterings with clean water and water mixed with nutes. You'll also get salt build up from the Nutriplex(or any chemical nutrient) if you don't flush your coco regularly.

This is what you should consider supplementing with instead of epsom. It's what I use now in hydro http://growguru.co.za/shop/cal-mag-calcium-magnesium-supplement/

Shot @420SA, I have that CalMag, but no instructions... Pointers please :)

I do water with plain water between feeds. This is the 1st time I've watered with nutes consecutively. My tap water's pH is around 6.8, my medium's pH is the same.

  6. Yeah, I figured I might run into that issue. Wasted grow space and so on. I'm not sure about the capacity in liters, I just know they're 20cm pots. I have an empty one I can measure tonight.

Ok, I think I'll do another nute feed and see how it goes, but I recon if I'll flip them on Sunday. It was meant to be a test grow anyways.

As for my grow medium, all of these plant were started in JGS, then potted up into CCPS. If I used Biobizz instead of Nutriplex, would the grow still be considered "organic"?

  7. Thanks guys. @GLO, I haven't sexed them yet. Maybe I should just flip it and remove the males if there are any. Only one is a confirmed female, The other two haven't shown yet. Cutting clones isn't really an option, I only have the one cab. I wanna flip ASAP, scared they'll get root bound coz they're already in their final pots. Thoughts?

Also, do you think I can feed with some the epsom salts solution again?  I fed epsom and water on Wednesday, nutes on Friday and again yesterday. They're due for watering tomorrow again.

  8. @cheese420, my experience with coco is that I'm still a noob. The coco I'm using seems pretty awesome, BUT, I'm not sure how freshly germinated seeds hold up in it. I managed to kill 4 seeds in coco a few days after the broke the surface. But that was my own doing, it's called damping off, my medium was too wet. I used a humidity dome, I feel that was the mistake.

I'm sure if your coco is damp, it'll be fine.

  9. Shit son, my eyes! Hahaha!

Nah, it's better to be prepared for the worst my man. See, I'm learning :thumbups

So I'm gonna carry on as planned. I hope to flip them by Sunday/Monday, but I might delay it until the yellowing is corrected. If I notice anything weird, I'll post and readjust the nutes to contain as little N as possible.

It's harder when you don't know the strain :-hairpull  Alice is yellowing. The other sativa only looks happy when it's really hot and with less water and the indica enjoys cooler temps and alot of water. Between the 3 or them, they drink 2L every 2 to 3 days, ambient temp dependent.

  10. And now you've got me worried too. Lol!

We'll see what happens then. Currently all my new growth is yellower than before, I suspect it's a cal-mag thing. The pics don't show it, so i didn't bother to take any, but something is different. I flushed them on Monday, they should be ready for watering tonight/tomorrow. I've mixed up 1ml epsom salts to 4L water, I'll give them that tomorrow and feed on the next watering.

Lets say the measurement is 20-20-20, what's the worst that could happen during flower? Won't the plant just not use the excess N?
