Yeah @Skolley I really have been considering it every time I visit the tent now lol.... @420SA its 9 weeks according to the seedsman website. Yeah a lot of what I read with hydro in coco is that big pots aren't that necessary as people tend to start feeding multiple times daily when in flower and the plants thrive. I been watering with smaller concentration in my feeds more pretty much daily now and the new growth is a very nice green and she seems to be liking it so I thought I may just continue and see it through till flower

Hey @Skolley Na I havent really thought about it since I thought the 10 litre would be fine since its straight coco. I dont think I want to disturb her anymore though in fear something goes wrong or she hermies on me:cursing

Update: Males removed Confirmed males have been chopped down. Smaller plant in the back I am not actually sure on its sex yet Confirmed female doing well. I now need to work on maximizing the yield on her...Thinking I may make a scrog net if I have the time but otherwise I'm just going to LST a nice even canopy and use the smaller branches at the bottom for clones. Managed to find a grow journal of this strain...seems to be the only one I could find http://trichome-world.com/category/cannabis-strain-reviews/seedsman/reg/sugar-haze/ Seems this plant might have quite a mean stretch on her. Next update will be end of the week with 600W bulb installed, extra fan and some training

UPDATE: Non-HPS pics So it is safe to say I am quite happy with the progress I have made with coco despite the initial transplant nightmare. Here are pics of what I assume to be future pollen sacks right?....The pic is from one of the smaller plants. I have only grown fem seeds so never grown a male to this stage before actually The other smaller plant has shown some white pistils so another female. I have tied it down so I hoping to maximize the yield from her. Here are the two main plants. Unconfirmed sex...but I think pollen sacks starting to form so male.... :'( Man I have been wishing for this one to be female! And the confirmed female: Not too bad I guess 50/50......The female has developed a very chunky strong stalk from how bent over they were from seedling stage lol Anyway the big plants are now being watered daily, today I hit the female with full strength veg nutes according to the EHG chart at a pH of 5.9. Next update the males will likely be gone and its another week of veg before the flip

Looking very healthy man, keep it up!

Thanks for the heads up GLO been looking into it and many people have reported back some good results from making cannbutter with males so will give it a try
-
Shot GLO! I was not aware you could actually use the male plant to cook with to get any sort of buzz. Would I chop it down during veg if they are confirmed males or do I let them flower a bit before taking them down? Wondering if they get anymore THC pumping through them with an initial bit of flowering time?
-
Hey man have you started flowering yet?
-
So one confirmed female so far...nice white pistils showing in quite a few places The biggest plant hasn't shown its preflowers yet but I think its very close or forming them it seems....I think I may be out of luck with it though as I have a feeling it is male. The other two that were stunted and growing along nicely, so I think I will continue to veg till next weekend and then flip on over to 12/12 with 600W and kill which ever of them are male... Exciting times ahead!

UPDATE: Nice growth So since my last update I have topped the two big plants and they have recovered growing into nice little bushes with many potential bud sites. As you can see in the pic below the other 2 plants are growing properly again but I would like to initiate flowering quite soon so I don't think they will get much more veg time. I believe the plant on bottom left could be female as some preflower I think have started showing so will monitor that for this week and I hope I am right. Also with todays watering I increased the nutes a little bit...the EHG chart has quite a big jump in concentration from week 3 so I decided not too step it up so drastically but I will be hitting them with some heavier nutes for the next few waterings and see how they fair So since the initial transplant hiccup growing with coco has worked out quite nicely

Terrible article... I read about that and it was said by the french minister that no cannbinoids were the cause...Below is extract from the article, Tourain is the minister "Touraine said the drug was a so-called FAAH inhibitor meant to act on the body’s endocannabinoid system, which deals with pain. Earlier reports suggested that the drug contained cannabinoids, an active ingredient found in cannabis plants, but the minister said it did not contain the drug or any derivatives of it."

Nice man its definitely well worth the purchase. Yeah I was quite surprised at how little is needed. Hmm I have read quite a few threads about people avoiding using the pH up if they overshoot with the pH down. They seem to try just to using one of them...probably due to how concentrated the stuff is....not sure in the long run if it will cause any adverse affects but just something to look out for

I think that second picture speaks volumes! Very nice man....Did you get your pH pen then Im assuming?

UPDATE: Things are looking up somewhat So quick update....2/4 are looking good and are being fed according to the EHG nutrient chart. The other 2 clearly got stunted so Im not sure what I will do with those 2 as of yet. Since these are regular seeds I really hope 1 of my two good ones is female...Going to continue vegging for another 2-3 weeks and add some training during that time and hopefully place a small order for some beans in the meantime Pics As a comparison, the close up image in this post is plant #3 from my previous update
-
Hey man how have u been testing the pH of the water/nutrients u been putting in? Was it with that meter? I have physically seen those type of meters which I think are mainly advertised for soil if I'm not mistaken, be off by a whole point! I had one before I purchased my digital pen and made the decision to invest in the digital pen before going forward with hydro nutes.

@420SA hey man I havent watered since my last update. After more reading and research I feel I transplanted in a pot too big. Feeding everyday is fine if roots have properly taken in to the pot size they are in since coco will always hold a certain percentage of oxygen no matter what. In my case I transplanted to 10L while they were small and the roots were no where near as established as they should have been. I have purchased Cal Mag today but wont be adding it to my water yet till all has settled in. Thanks for the response man will update this weekend!

Update: Fairly lengthly with pics So here is what has happened... The day I posted last update I panicked and tried to correct for deficiencies on 3/4 plants....Safe to say that went horribly wrong. The plant that I just left be is now looking the best and the others look alright and 2 in particular don't look healthy. They still have yellowing between the leaves on new growth and some of the old....I do think it came down to a root problem from the transplant and I should have just let them all settle. I was quite anxious to sort out the problem and that backfired. Yesterday I fed with with EHG 0.4ml/2litre of the micro, bloom and grow pH'ed to 5.8. From some reading it seems I should be continuing to water with nutrients everyday at the right pH and they should come right. I had not watered them since that last update as I was hoping their roots would grow more in search of water. Here are the 2 bad ones: 1) 2) The good ones: 3) This one does still look bad but has come further than the previous 2...so I hope it recovers more in this week 4) The healthiest one...which was left alone after transplant #4 is vegging really well...it could be a more lush green colour though . For future reference If I ever transplant from soil to coco in those small seedling pots I am just going to leave the soil around the roots and not try wash it off.

Looking nice fire....seems like its started snowing trichomes:-gthumb

Hmm...I have that test kit and the pH down and up. I am not such a fan of the test kit in all honesty. When using the pH down/up you only need a drop to bring down the pH quite a lot, its potent stuff. It helps to fill a 500ml bottle with one drop and then add that to your nutrient mix to bring the level up or down in smaller increments.

Hmmm I shall definitely take note of the dust that could accumulate by the fan Yeah lol I didnt want to spend the extra cash on one of those raptor reflectors especially with my space being so small...at the moment my temps are very good so I will be getting the cooltube in proper use once I start flowering and fire up a 600W bulb. Woah good thing u sorted that out before any issue occurred....Do you use 1 1000W for flowering and your 600W for a veg cab? One is looking good and the others seem alright...Im letting them dry out a bit and hope they form a nice root structure in search for water as the coco was fairly damped before the transplant. I am still concerned on their coloration but maybe in this week they will come right. Will post pics Thurs/Friday

@420SA Wasnt really any particular reason....just wanted a pure coco grow. I had read many threads where a coco/perlite mix was used but also saw many with just pure coco and the results were amazing. The drainage that coco has seems to be more than enough
-
@GLO Lol well I'm still pretty glad I got it...The temp issues I use to have was insane so at least I can get all that heat out of there....Are they crap due to their coverage though? Yeah I did some reading about that and checked some PAR comparisons on Youtube between digital and magnetic. Is it a waste of money buying the ballasts that contain a fan then? 600W no fan at gthydro is R300 cheaper and honestly this ballast runs so cool I feel the fan isnt needed
-
@Ajcapetown thats one of the first things I noticed was how cool they run. My magnetic ballast use to get ridiculously hot. Im not sure these electronics ballast would even get too hot without the fan The cooltube at the moment isnt actually doing its job...I wasnt able to get the correct size ducting to fit...The 6inch ducting is quite a mission to fit into my small tent but I am getting a reducer and making a plan Hmm I definitely think the air cooled hoods reflect more...the cooltube comes with a little wing of aluminium to increase its coverage
-
Ok thanks for response GLO...going to let them be for this week with some light watering
-
ok @420SA thanks for the response man I will keep that in mind...I am hesitant to attempt correcting any issue without giving them some time to settle in and know what the issue is ....just dont want to leave it too late either
