Yes, I assume hard water has a naturally higher calcium level. Next time you at a Hydro shop check the labels on the two Micro variants. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The fixture has been powder coated, it just scratches I suspect were “touched up”. It’s not good but really in this case I let it slide since this isn’t a display item for my living area in my home, if you know what I’m saying. So back to my reason for getting this light... I wanted just a bit more oomph in the tent because the next run will be with CO2 from the start and this means more light and higher temps. I’ve been running the humidifier and lights for a few days in the tent, and it comfortably sits at 30 deg C and 65% RH (Veg test). Without extra heaters involved. The new Mars lights in this form are very very expensive (if you guys think this light is pricy, go check Mars on Hydroponic.co.za). So let’s see how it goes, I should germinate late next week. I’ve just counted ten far red diodes. So it’s like R100ea. The lights have been running as per my pic since 6am today. The Mars drivers are outside the tent, the Comets driver obviously inside the light casing. Here are quick pics of surface temp taken at a similar place on each unit: The Comet is 10deg cooler with the driver inside. The Mars is 240w so you’d expect it to run hotter. Here is a video of Dean from Marijuana SA visiting the InDorSun factory. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi guys, here is a close up of the box, it says 4k colour temp plus far red. I think the far red bump up the watts consumed. I never received a user manual with the light... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I realise this is an old post but it might be read in future. The GHE Micro comes in hard and soft water variants. The soft water option has much more Calcium in it than the soft water and your nute mix ought not to need more as a result. Only add Calcium if there is a deficiency. There is a bit of a debate around this locally manufactured brand centred around value for money. That thread is on the Futurama post under vendors. Anyway. After seeing the InDorSun facility on YouTube (Marijuana SA Chanel) I had a look at their site and found what I was looking for. A thin form light with Far Red to supplement my two existing Mars SP250’s in my 1,2 x 1,2m tent, bringing the power up to 590w. As an added bonus I have connected this 110w light to my inverter for load shedding, to keep the light cycle going. Here are the specs: I placed my order online and had a question about the courier charge. Next day I was contacted my someone from the company and we got talking about other lights in their stable. This led me to having a conversation with their technical guy who actually spoke me out of a more expensive light once he understood my needs. I really like this, it builds confidence and relationships. After one working day my light arrived. Inside it was well wrapped in bubble wrap. Other lights I’ve bought have had custom made foam for the light body and 9mm plywood pieces to cover the LED’s. The LED’s on the Comet are recessed and behind a plastic cover, but still I think the packaging needs to be tougher in case the couriers are careless. The fixture is lightweight and rigid. The Meanwell driver is inside and out of view, and no heat sink is visible. The unit comes with a 3m power cable and has no dimming available. The manufacturer can fit dimming if necessary. The finish on the fitting was a bit disappointing. The protruding bolts should have cap screws fitted and the touch up paint job / scratches would upset some people... The business end of the fixture is covered by some kind of super clear Perspex. You can see the far-red diodes ringed in red. The hanging arrangement is not the most elegant, however each hanging point can be adjusted precisely because the brackets slide within the Chanel. I felt I had to secure the bracket from accidental bumping, that’s how loose they are in the Chanel. Maybe I’m just paranoid. Lucky me. White duct tape. The far red is switchable. Here is the Comet nestled between the two SP250’s: That’s about it, I’ll see how this arrangement improves yield. Local is lekker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Very very neat. How much power does it draw? Is the driver separate or is in integrated on the light itself? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is my first effort at LST, and I have done some defol. These are like Bonzai plants, super small. Never got to the bottom of it but I assume maybe they should have stretched more in the beginning? So probably too much light too soon. Can anyone comment on that? I also made the mistake of leaving a 5cm space between the coco and the top of the pot... when watered and settled it dropped even lower, so the bottom fan leaves just just made it out of the pot. Anyway there are 5 ladies here, four Moby Dick (Dinafem) and one Blue Amnesia XXL in the smaller green pot. I had to put the AH into this tent’s Autopot res because it was such a late developer compared to the other three. It was quite a lot of work getting them into an more or less LST canopy, once they were into flower a week or two I backed off and just let them do their own thing. The main cola still dominates as the biggest bud on each plant. A short while ago I did another defol to open up the airflow and get light lower in the grow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry I refer to Flora Kleen as a flush / rinse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for all the replies guys. I’m getting a clearer idea of when to harvest, but I’m still a bit unclear on how to work out when to switch to Final Part for example, assuming you want to do the following: GHE flower nutes; GHE rinse flush; GHE Ripen; GHE final part feed flush PH neutral feed and darkness At which stage on the plants do you stop “Flower” nutes? For those of you who don’t flush, do you feed flower nutes right to the day of harvest? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey guys and girls, I’m on my second grow and it’s gone a lot smoother than the first one for sure. I’m hoping my harvest timing is right this time, I suspect the first time I harvested early. So I’ve decided to use the “days” quoted by the seed banks (in this case Dinafem) who give 75 days and 80 days respectively for the two different Auto’s. Is this number of days from seed, from germination or from first pistols? How accurate are these quoted days (what is the range of early vs later, or are they mostly on time, or late? (I realise many factors come into it to influence the harvest date) I have been taking minute snips off the sugar leaves close to the top of the bud to check trichomes with a microscope, but evidently the check is meant to be on the bud itself (calyxes?) is that correct? I tried this and found that the trichomes on the bud were less mature than the ones on the sugar leaves, is that observation correct? I am determined to try timing the harvest properly, with Final Part, Flora Kleen, pH neutral water and 3 days of darkness. I started the Final Part (GHE Ripen) at 2 weeks before the quoted number of days by the seed bank, assuming the count was from germination, In other words 75 days minus 14, day 61. If this period comes to an end and the correct clear /milky/amber ratio is still not there, do I continue with Final Part or simply Flora Kleen then water? They talk of using pH neutral water for final flush, I assume this means pH7? I am growing in Autopots, F1 soil (coco) and have used GHE tri part nutes. This tent has Blue Amnesia XXL Autoflowers. I’m going to post a pic of a plant which I thought was ready, but trichomes are mostly clear to slightly milky on the bud, and it looks like new bud is still growing, looking at the light green bud and white pistols. Some of the branches need support because they are lolling over from the weight I assume. According to the 75 day harvest, these are in day 65, so theoretically they have 10 days left... I don’t know how effective it is, but why not try a home made salt dehumidifier? You can find out how on YouTube or this link https://www.amfam.com/resources/articles/at-home/how-to-dehumidify-your-home I built one cheaply using a round rubbish bin and a large round plastic perforated bowl which fits in the top. (The bowl is more like a large flour shaker / sieve). You then buy a 50kg Rock Salt from TWK (mine is sold as a cattle supplement, evidently they dig raw salt) even though you only need maybe 5-10kg at a time. Put the salt in the top and water will eventually drip down into the bucket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is there a second-hand for sale section in this forum?

I have not tried the mobile site. Will to try now. Tapatalk is cool in that all your forums are in one place and you have a common inbox fed by all of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

CreX I take it you are referring to the web site not the mobile site (I use Tapatalk on my phone). I don’t see any visible link to the “for sale” section on Tapatalk. Thanks for sending the link. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Here and there someone mentions a for sale section in this forum, is that a thing? I’ve looked and can’t find anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
It’s been a bumpy ride but I’ve flattened the curve... [emoji12] Happy with the humidity at last, it’s 100% RH outside. Closed system coming into its own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Early on in the grow I was running a pH of 6.5 thinking that’s what the F1 from Freedom Farms needed. Turn out it’s almost Hydro so pH 5.8 to 6.0. Evidence on the tips of the fan leaves. Once I fixed that it was sorted. Then the sugar leaves on the upper bud sites got heat burn (or is it intensity burn?) from my LED which is meant to be at 45cm from the canopy, but I was at 30cm. Coupled with poor airflow over the canopy, I presume, which caused the burned spots on the sugar leaves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks guys, these Auto’s do my head in. My gut feel was she is showing some beautiful colour but then I freaked because her sisters aren’t! Each of the four Amnesia Auto’s in this tent look slightly different and developing at different rates. Three will be harvested at the same time but the last one, now the biggest one (by comparison) looks about 7 to 10 days behind. I suppose it’s the nature of the beast, I will try photo’s towards the latter part of the year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

At first I thought it was colouration from a maturing bud, then I took a closer look and now I’m not so sure... The last pic is of the plant (same strain) next to her, and this one has no colouring at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
