In an effort to run a sealed grow room with no extraction to “outside”, I have had to get CO2 to replenish normal co2 which would come available from extraction and the resulting air intake from outside. So I’m not expecting yield benefits, rather just maintenance of probably double normal atmospheric levels (800 ppm). I found this supplier locally Nice sturdy unit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m going to try photo’s for my fourth grow. I’ve already got seeds for third grow... Auto’s will run their course give or take a couple weeks either side, no chance of recovery from a bad situation, yield will tell the story. In this case I suffered from excessive temp and humidity which took a while to figure out. Even now my humidity is around 60% and I can’t drop it lower. Summer growing is hectic, my first grow was in winter, easy peasy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Day 11: “Growing” Day 27: “Pre-Flower” Day 30: “Flower” Day 45: “Flower” - Today I’ve just checked on the Dynafem web site for Blue Amnesia Auto’s: under “comprehensive life cycle”: Not certain what this means) but anyways it says 75 to 80 days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Apparently getting an AC which is too big for a space is counter-productive, it messes with its own head, so to speak. I wouldn’t go bigger than a 12000BTU in that space, and definitely look at the Inverter type which has a much lower initial draw on power every time it kicks in. Some units are WiFi (Smart) equipped so they can be adjusted remotely. Or look at a Sensibo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi ORGANic Thanks for your input. I was wondering about the fattening up bit... Auto’s happen so fast, I was caught napping in my last grow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I discovered browning pistols on one of my Amnesia XXL auto’s earlier. The other three are not showing any browning whatsoever. Not sure if it’s Dynafem or what. Theee is a pic from my cheap USB ‘Microscope’ How much longer should this plant remain in flower or should I start to ripen / flush? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Growing in Summer is not for sissies. I have 2 tents in a small grow room in an out building. The out building has a low roof with no space to speak of between the ceiling and the corrugated roof. This results in a very humid and hot environment. Anyway I found that because of the heat, I set the (extraction to outside) fans quite high. This has the adverse effect of drawing in a lot of fresh humid hot air, meaning the dehumidifier won’t work properly. So I’ve decided to allow the fans to vent to inside which effectively recycles the dry cool air inside the grow room. The carbon filters are coping with the early signs of smell. I’m aware of the need for fresh air to replace C02 but with me going in and out I think there is sufficient air exchange Any thoughts on this looped idea? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Next time I’ll do a grow diary, I’ve got bits all over the forum. Mostly stressing about my Amnesia XXL Auto leaves... compared to my Moby Dick which are looking a lot better with the same nutrient schedule. I’ve had a few issues with my grow, being only the second one (first was August last year) Issue1: F1 soil needs to be treated almost like Coco. I was pH’ing and Feeding on a soil chart for the first 4 to 5 weeks before realising the problems. Issue2: Not reacting fast enough to the change from late veg to pre flower and again from pre flower to flower. I think my Amnesia are malnourished lol. Issue 3: struggling with big fluctuations in temp and humidity till I got it sorted. Issue 4: possibly the Amnesia XXL should have been in bigger pots, they are in 9l pots vs 15l pots that the Moby Dicks are in. (Reasoning is that the MD are in a 5x5 and Amnesia in 4x4) Issue 5: not enough soil in the pots, so the fan leaves didn’t clear the pot. I had to lollipop some really healthy looking leaves to get some air under the plants. Now all my plants are quite small and stubby but have very thick stems, maybe too much light in the early stages. I had big issues with my first grow because there were two strains in one tent, some grew much taller than the others, posing a challenge with lighting so I had to group the shorter ones under one light and the taller under the other light. Not wanting that again I kept the strains separate and tried LST for the first time. That is why my plants look like such a tangled mess. I have probably over done the LST. I have managed however to have a much more even canopy as a result, in both tents. Maybe I’ll move them all into the 5x5 and start a new grow in the 4x4. Amnesia XXL Auto (Dynafem) Moby Dick Auto: (Dynafem) Ladies are on day 36 from popping out the soil. Any observations would be appreciated from those master growers out there. I’m especially worried about the Amnesia XXL which are looking a bit pale and scraggly. I’ve upped my nute mix to 100% strength which is around EC1.7 and pH5.5 to 5.8. This is in an effort to increase potassium for the flowering stage, hopefully I don’t get lock out because the media is sitting at pH6. Or 6.5 but it refuses to drop below 6.5 even after a solid flushing of Aque Kleen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Checked the ‘soil’ pH per autopot last night, they ranged from 6.5 to 7.0. I don’t know if that’s particularly bad considering it’s an Auto Pot grow, nevertheless considering my leaf situation I decided to flush with Flora Kleen and pH water at 5.8. Each plant got 5 litres Runoff pH was around 6.5. I never checked the EC runoff. They say you shouldn’t flush (pour water from top) with Autopots but there isn’t really an alternative. Alarmingly the “soil” pH measured immediately after the flush still sat at 6.5... So I gave up stressing and did some final LST / grooming and lollipopping. Left them to dry cycle for the balance of their day, then popped them back into the trays to suck them dry over their evening (res turned off) Tonight I drained the remains of the res’ and banged them with 100% Flora Trio “Flower” in the hopes of increasing their Potassium intake. Even at 100% the EC is (only) 1.7. The ladies are used to EC 1.1 to 1.3 which I suspect might be too low for these ladies in flower. Everything else is good, temp and humidity are under control, VPD is ok (between 0.93 and 1.1), lighting is good, air exchange is adequate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi guys, me again. On day 33 with these Blue Amnesia XXL from Dynafem. A week ago I figured I have been running my pH too high for Freedom Farms F1 craft soil, at 6,5. I have been advised to run it almost like Coco at 5.8 to 6.0. So I experienced some minor lockout issues which can be seen on some of the older fan leaves in the bottom picture. I sorted out the Soil by flushing each pot with 3 to 4 litres of PH5.8 water, the runoff came out at 6.5. I’m using Floro Series (3 part) and these plants have been on the Coco “Flower” nutrient ratio for three days now. I am running the strength at 60% of the recommended strength since I understand Auto’s don’t need the full dosage. So the nute mix is pH5.9 EC 1.1 This leaf, I think, might be showing signs of either a Calcium or a magnesium deficiency. By this I refer to the green veins and pale green leaf between the veins. It might also indicate that the overall strength of the nute mix might be too low. For example instead of running 2,4ml per litre of “Bloom”, I’m running 1,44ml per litre (60%) Any input would be welcomed, maybe I’m just being paranoid since I ran into some lockout issues on my first grow. The plant in the bottom- right of this picture is far behind the others, they are all the same Amnesia XXL Auto’s. I think she’s the runt of the litter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Impressive! Can the driver be taken off the board and placed outside the tent? That will help a lot, and a better fan. If you still have too much heat or humidity you will have to run the ac here and there. You’ll probably have excessive heat during lights on and excess humidity when lights are off. The struggle is real. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What is the ambient temp and humidity outside the tent? Do you exhaust back into the same space as the tent or to the outside? If it’s an office, are there big changes between day and night room temperature and humidity? Thing is if your temp, humidity and “freshness” of the intake air are not right, you will struggle to lower / raise accordingly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It’s possible that fan isn’t powerful enough, especially for South African conditions. I think you have heat / humidity build up because the fan can’t suck fast enough. You should try an in-line 100mm ducting fan. I’ve read you can get them from electrical supply places like AC/DC if you looking for a good price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Air flow in this game is the hardest element to get right. Everything else is tangible, measurable and visible. Air flow is invisible and impossible to observe. It affects temperature, CO2, odours, stem strength and humidity. Too much buffeting by a fan is bad for leaves. Bear in mind outdoors wind comes and goes, but a fan placed too close to a plant will relentlessly buffet it around. I think it’s ability to photosynthesise is compromised, and it starts drying out (stand to be corrected here) What I do is set my phone to record video, then place it in the tent to record what’s happening in there with air movement. This should tell you a story. If your extraction is the culprit then try extending the ducting, or give it a few tight turns to reduce its air flow, and observe with recording if it’s helped. God luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good to know. This is my first run with air domes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks guys, it is in an auto pot with air dome, so the amount of water is theoretically up to the plant’s demand. However I think they potentially can over-water when plants are still young which is why I suspect they introduced the air dome... Good idea to place them diagonally on their trays to allow them to dry out. Every second day till their roots are more established I guess. At least this way there is individual control on each pot vs cutting the reservoir supply to all plants. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree, super neat setup. I use a few devices to monitor temp and humidity and average the readings out. The Air Comfort is cool because it shows you a graph of what happened temp vs humidity in up to 5min intervals. Very useful for seeing what happens when lights kick in or if humidity spikes. You can tweak a lot with this info. The TH16 is brilliant as a switch for either temp or humidity control, and for remote control / readings since it connects to your WiFi. Nice to see what’s up with your tent whilst you’re at work. A device like yours is great because you can see at a glance what’s up without faffing with a phone for a reading. The probes might read slightly differently depending on their placement in the tent and the proximity to lights etc. Now, am I right in saying you have fresh air coming in at the top and exhaust at the bottom? Ideally you want exhaust from the top because hot air rises. Sorry if I’m wrong. Peace. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is the only one of four in this tent to have curled leaves. The colour is the same as the others and there are no obvious blotches or anything. Could it be wind burn? When I came in this evening I noticed a grow room floor fan was blowing it around a bit (I’ve had to keep my tents open because of the insane heat and humidity recently). Autoflower Blue Amnesia (Dynafem) x 4 Autopot with Airdome Freedom Farms F1 GHE Flora Series at 50% manufacturers recommended strength. Mars SP250 x 2 in 4x4 at 50% brightness, Hang 45cm above top of plants. 18/6 but been stuffed around with load shedding a bit. AC Infinity T8. Sonoff Humidity control / remote observation Room has a/c and dehumidifier. Started LST yesterday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s correct, it’s the air line to the air dome. It’s not operational yet. Only comes on when the Autopot comes on in about a week. Thanks for the info on LST. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Auto’s, Moby Dick and Amnesia Haze on day 8. When should I start LST? Any suggestions otherwise? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for that advice Prom. I had two come up like this. Next time I’ll go a little deeper. This time the seeding shrugged it off overnight. You can see the discarded husk just to the left of the seedling. Good girl! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looking for some opinions. This seed husk looks too tight to remove yet, to me. Any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
