Super Soil Mix - Expert advise needed -
Weskush replied to Weskush's topic in Organic Growing - Growing in soil
Ja fully agree. Thats why we are trying to simulate that. The reason for me going the living organic route and home made soil is purely curiosity and saving cash. Like the idea of creating and experiencing the process. Bottled nutes, being labeled as organic or not just didn't feel right to me. Almost like steroids. I know that it works but consumerism plays a huge role in cannabis nutes and i am trying to steer as far away from that trap as possible. I know that by adding all those recommended amendments is contradicting myself but goddamn i saved 50% of my hard earned money going this route thus far...And its blerrie lekker preparing my own soil and will be even more lekker to see my plants thriving in my own soil. And to conclude. If anything goes south, i only have myself to blame and learn from the process. Live and learn brother -
Super Soil Mix - Expert advise needed -
Weskush replied to Weskush's topic in Organic Growing - Growing in soil
Yes. That's the plan brother. Left out Bat Guano and Worm Castings but i reckon that i can always add rather than remove...don't want to overkill. Will monitor the plant and add from there what is needed. No bottled nutes except for maybe some Biobizz that was left over from last year. Thanks for the feedback brother -
Howzit fellow growers. I have quite a loaded question regarding my soil mix for the upcoming outdoor season with a pic of my jar soil analysis for reference. I used Subcool's New Super Soil Mix recipe as reference and added a couple of additional amendments as per recommended ratios. Note: No Wormcastings unfortunately. Here follows my recipe and total volume is about 250L or 9 cubic ft: Base Mix: - 3 x 30l compost mix - 3 x 20l potting soil mix (peat moss based) - 1 x 20l sand (mix of mostly sand and fine clay from garden) - 5 x 1kg Coco Coir bricks - 1 x 30l bag Perlite Amendments: - 1kg Bone Meal - 3 x cups Kelp Meal - 3/4 cup Epsom salt - 1 x cup Dolomite lime - 1kg Soft Rock Phosphate - 5L Biochar - 1L Diatomaceous Earth - 1L Insect Frass (BSFL) - 1L Basalt Rock Dust - 1cup Gypsum - 1 cup barley seeds for kicks This mix is currently cooking under a tarp until end Sept when i am planning to start using it. Then as mulch, i will be using Alfalfa Mulch and maybe a cover crop (Clover, Sprouting Barley etc.) Not going into feeding etc. Mostly rain water feeds and some Epic on occasion. How does my ratios as per attached pic look? Any feedback from a soil expert would be greatly appreciated

Laka man! Ja planning on caging the plant up for support. Mendo Dope style. Shot for the feedback

Howzit brother. Just curious if the strain was legit. Well aware that these plants have the potential to grow into monster trees. So just to make sure if i should give the DP the honour of growing in my new 100L fabric pot. I'm used to 20 L fabric pots where i got 6ft heights out of. This thing is biiig haha! would like to check out your grow journal on this one ekse

Very nice! Shot for the offer man but i'm in CT ekse. Keep us posted on this grow please. Very curious to see the progress. Laka brother

A little update on my quest for Skunk. I managed to get my hands on a Critical freebie fem. seed from RQS. This strain is a Skunk x Afghani, which makes it pretty close to what i am looking for. Very keen to grow this lady outdoors this season

Goeienaand almal. Has anyone grown DP regulars from GSR yet? I have some regular DP, Malawi Gold and Swazi Gold seeds that i ordered from them last year. Planning a proper DP tree grow in a 100 L fabric pot with my own soil( Subcool's super soil recipe inspired) currently cooking until end Sept. Any input would be laka

Living Organic Soil recommendations
Weskush replied to Weskush's topic in Organic Growing - Growing in soil
Thanks for the info brother! Very much appreciated. My soil is very sandy where i'm planning the bed due to the coastal environment. Still between two minds if i should just get a 100L fabric pot and cage it up like the Mendo guys. The reason for the bed is that im planning on growing some veggies etc also. Will try get hold of some koei stront either way and see where i end up. -
Yeaa i would say support our local breeders first and foremost. They have some gems that will go for 10 times the price on the international market. Will also not hurt your pocket as much if you make mistakes. Living and learning is the name of the game. If you don't have much experience, the best is to grow what fits your budget and personalize your own growing style and take it from there. You will develop a connection with your plants and with time, learn what their needs are. Bless up

Howzit brother. It was sold out last time that i checked. Probably easier and safer to pay a little extra and get something that has the correct ratios of ingredients rather than trying my luck with mixing my own and probably burning my plants. Thrive seems to be the best value for money so far. -
Howzit fellow growers. I am very excited for the upcoming outdoor season and would appreciate some recommendations on the best soil/amendments to use for a raised bed about 1m width, 2m length, 20cm height. I am looking for the recommended amount to use and of course the best price/bag that you are aware of. I am using Orgasoilux at the moment, which is beautiful stuff but just a bit expensive for the amount that i require. Shot and bless

Thanks @Golden-Goose much appreciated. Please keep me in the loop

Howzit fellow 420 members! I am looking for Original Skunk seeds. Can anyone recommend a breeder/site? There is a lot of Skunk crosses out there but i'm on the search for the pure strain if that even exists anymore. Shot

Ma se stiefman! Now that is a full house you've got going there. Well done -
Eish brother! That plant looks min stoked hey. As mentioned above, the cold, less sunlight and high humidity is not doing the plants any favours. Wait until end September ish and give it another go. I can testify that attempting an outdoor grow in Winter is just a las and waste of seeds.
-
The Mr E Pupil looks like the perfect high content THC/CBG strain. For this league of strain you definitely need to be kitted out with a proper indoor setup. I wouldn't want to risk paying this price for seeds to be grown outdoors, although i prefer outdoor growing. Shot for the link brother

Ag jere that's not lekker. I normally cover the seedlings with chicken wire to protect them from larger predators.
