And so it begins. Seeds was planted yesterday, 1 August, in some Just Cannabis soil. Hopefully she germinates Using 4x cool white cfl’s and a 22W cool white led strip for veg in the meantime. Either going to add some extra cfl’s or slap a 150w halide over plant once she gets a bit bigger. Not sure if theres a double ended mh bulb out suitable for Veg. I do have a 3500k bulb waiting for flower. Here’s my little ghetto garage setup so far

Thanks for all the help guys. Turns out that my local nursery stocks Just Cannabis soil. Not sure how good it is, but i bought a bag for R300. Will be using it for my first grow. That gives me time to make my own soil mix the TLO way for the next grow (hopefully with clones) Only about a 1/3 of the the way through the book, but it's been very informative thus far

Hey guys. i need to make my own soil mix. Preferably, out of easy to obtain ingredients only. please drop your recipes, and reason for using each ingredient, in the comments below. P.S. i have a very big compost heap in the garden, but its full of bugs, beetle larvae etc. should i rather use something a little less alive? Or is there an easy way to remove all them undesirables? thanks in advance. Speedy replies would be appreciated as im buying all the ingredients this weekend

@TheUltimateNoob thanks. Ive got around 1m^2 to play around with. i live on the coast...would humidity, or lack thereof, be a concern? If so, what numbers should i be aiming for?

Hey guys Im going to be starting my “first” grow in the next week or so. Going to be an indoor grow with 2x 150w mh over her. i just have a few questions: 1) whats a nice, easy soil mix? I made an amazing soil mix 10 years ago, but cannot remember what i used (potting soil, coco, vermiculite and bonemeal i think) 2) fertilisers...is there a thread somewhere that can explain exactly when to use what, and what quantities and for how long? Saw on a youtube vid today some talking about how you want your leaves to turn yellow just before changing to flower? 3) veg/flower transistion...whats the best way? The seeds ive order are Feminised, non-auto. Im planning on 6500k veg and 3000k flower (but it will probably be 3500k depending on globe availability) 4) Pot size...10L pot big enough? i think thats about it for now. Pics will come once everything is up and running. If this works out, hydro looks like quite a fun challenge to do next. thanks ✌

Hey guys It has probably already been discussed already, but i cannot find a simple yes/no anywhere. So, am i legally allowed to grow a plant yet? An additional problem i have is that i live in a "student accommodation" of sorts. It's basically a mini apartment block with a small community area on each floor with a tv. I have keys to my place and no one can access it apart from myself. Am i allowed to rock an indoor grow? I'm in the western cape if that makes any difference.
