LOL! Yeah that is what I was expecting, instead she has surprised me and grown some fat buds! I can't imagine how dense this strain would be if I had grow it properly! I have a good description of the lights in the initial posts. But basically 3x Vero 29 which give me 1200 ppfd in my little cabinet

So, my previous grow yielded terribly, the stem was tiny and the root ball pathetic. I checked everything, pH, temp, nutes, TDS. Nothing. Im not new to plants, and I really thought it looked like low light. But how could that be, I have tons of light? Anyway long story short, I'd confused how my lights work. The dimmer wires connected meant they were running at under 10% power.... lol. I still got a harvest, but it was all light and airy. However it was covered in trichomes and was actually pretty potent. I figured out the light issue at around F12, so I made 7 clones out of the growth tips below the apex. I just left two fan leaves and the growth tip. I dont have a photo of what it looked like, bit it was basically a stick. I decided to see what it would do during flower, so I cranked the lights. At the start it had a stem so thin it could hardly stand upright, and the root ball was so pathetic I had to support it. Well, suddenly growth exploded. It went from a toothpick to a lollipop. The stem thickened and could stand on its own. Then it turned into the FNB tree, the stem thickened even more, the nodes became compact and the roots tookover the entire pot. The first photo I have is at F23, 11 days after the defoliation and light increase. The next set of shots is at f44, I had to bend the main stem at 90 degrees at F31 because the stretch was too much. The final shot is at f48, the light was running at 90%, which was too much given how little space I had. As you can see the tip is bleached. I turned the light down to 70%, seems much better. Temps are also better. The buds have fattened up a lot, but the pistils are still basically all white, I need to get a jewlers loupe to check the trichomes.

What you want to get is a raspberry pi zero w, it's got built in wifi which really helps. And it's a lot smaller than the full raspberry pi 3 b+. It's also a lot cheaper, I have a few that I use and they are awesome. Takes a while to learn how to set them up - and it can be frustrating. But worth it once it is running.

I have 54w of ballast I think, using very low light as it is just for clones and very early veg Longee[/member] thanks! I try, sometimes it works out pretty well! Sometimes not, hahaha

Thanks guys. I did do a grow! But didn't document it. I added a space bucket for clones, it is also fully stealth. I have a bucket that sits on stilts in another bucket. I drilled holes in the floor of the bucket that takes the cones for ventilation, the fan in the lid blows it out the holes pictured in the photos at the top. It is completely lightproof, and the airflow restrictions are minimal

New Clones, a little neater

Shots of my clones, and a close up of one of my popcorn buds. And my clones don't actually sit in two clear cups, the outer cup is actually opaque - just switched it out for the pics. Also 420SA[/member] I think you mean winner will be announced on the 01/08/2018. EDIT: NB, the sponsors site does not have HTTPS, so traffic to and/from their site is not encrypted... that's security 101 if they take our privacy seriously, which given the nature of the activities they should. It's concerning that they don't even have HTTPS, which is usually the bare minimum. Not sure I'd trust that my order details, address information, contact details etc. are safely encrypted either. Hopefully they can fix it, but I would not personally order without at least them getting HTTPS and confirming how they manage identifying data. -

I tried to upload last night to no avail Guess I will have to try next month! -
Yeah LEDs are expensive off the bat, but you save costs in the long run. Plus they are super stealthy. And let's not forget Eskom is in what's called a utility death spiral, so electricity is going to get more and more expensive. With my LED my electricity bill doesn't even notice

Congrats on being given the Banjölnir

Ah damn, I will have to wait then. I am going to durban in dec so wont be around to look after them!
-
So cab is finally complete. Cut 3 vents in, added filters to each. Light proofed the entire thing. It's silent and light proof so I am happy! Readings on all the sensors is good too. I might try do a 12/12 from seed, do you think I can get it in before middle of December?
-
Thanks man, he PM'd me. I might well wait until next year as I don't think there is enough time for me to complete my grow. On a side note I can import the Vero 29/Citizen/Cree3590's if you all would like some I can probably get a decent price. Just not the enclosures/drivers. If enough people want I can put an order together. Looking at around R700-900 a COB depending on volume and type of COB

There are glasses you can get for that hey, like the enchroma glasses.

Yep, I love fishing rivers. Especially for tasty troutses

My unit is all setup ad running now. Lets see what we get. I actually have a spare one, not sure if I should sell it or keep it lol
-
I already have a running controller, it works great.
-
Honestly? I don't use it enough to justify owning it. It's a great little device, but yeah I just don't really smoke much. I've used it about 7 times in like a month, this might actually be the second month I've owned it now.

Also subbing here, exciting stuff!

Awesome, I was just wondering because it didn't seem like a crazily high powered light, how efficient is it when compared to a COB lighting system? For instance my 3 x Vero 29s Gen7 driver @ 2.1a a total PPF of around 460 u/mols (if all my math is right), what is this light outputting?

Will the P4 be strong enough for the entire grow? Is this a sponsored grow log? Keen to see how the P4 works out.
-
Not yet, still trying to acquire some. Should have them shortly! Thanks guys! Been a lot of work haha. Can't wait to start my grow!
-
Haha that just becomes a bit much, plus I don't consume a lot and I am not selling it so it would be hard to offset those costs! I will try a small grow during the summer to see what happens, at least I can monitor exactly what is happening. The fan controller is going in tomorrow with some more sensors. Ambient room sensors and ones at the top and bottom of the [inside] cab to measure differences in temp. I will update with some pics of my progress so far tomorrow!

Sorry for the delays, I should be done with the main construction this weekend, decided to go analog with the power controls as it is a lot of juice flowing into the box so I will be fitting a DB internally. The lights are all hooked up and working like a charm, I just need to add the vents and attach the exhaust fan. I also want to get hold of some wire and make a 90 degree frame to put my two floor fans on so they blow up into the plant. Hooking up a 12v 5a PSU for all the computer fans (1 for venting and 2 for circulation) all are 140mm fans so they will be silent and move a decent amount of air. The temp & humidity sensors are all running and looking good. Might be a while before I can find the genetics I want though, which is an issue because I will be in Durban during Dec so my grow will have to be done by then, I might only do my first grow in Jan if it doesn't work out. I have everything I need except the vents and carbon filter. My only concern is the temp and humidity flux of the room. Temp ranges from 17 - 25 degrees and humidity from 44% - 70% RH. If i air the room out for a more stable RH my temp fluctuates more. So I don't know if a grow will be possible under these conditions during the summer months.
