First Time Grower - All welcome and A helping hand will do.

Around all parts, forever and ever. Ya you'll get a good comparison, which is nice, but just something extra to factor into to your thinking on smoke quality is all. -

Lol, no, apologies, don't stress. Was just talking about the flush. Depending on how much you've been / plan on flushing, staggering the harvest will have bud with a different stage of flush. That's all. -
It's.... beautiful. I can hear the MacGyver theme playing softly. I was going to ask what you used to get the macro shot.

Bubble bags are an easy option, but a little on the expenny side. Also need a fair amount of trim. Can look into DIY pressing too, seen peeps using old hair irons and whatnot. Yum yum. For the staggered harvest, you'll have differently flushed bud. Hesitant as I am to drop the f-bomb round these parts. -
Lookin' good. Doesn't seem like there's any major difference with the controls, notice anything? For images: I'm just removing all the personal data, from the file properties and uploading. Is that not sufficient?

Ya if it's just one leaf, not much to worry about, keep an eye out for any other damage. As others have said, most likely a random insect, or usually in my case, errant scissors
-
Thanks m8. Honestly quite hard to tell, with all the branching I would've expected lots of bud sites in any case. Possibly beefer pistil development than expected, on those sites, but without a control, can't say with too much confidence. Frost fairy has juuust started rolling in and even the 'big' fan leaves are getting a dusting. This is the most noticeable effect, where just about all regrowth is showing trich development. Early days, yet.

Eish, 2 days, that's harsh. Perhaps a better time for it to occur, at the least, some people force extra dark hours at flip.
-
Few more regrowth pics, last of which at around a week. She finally started to drink a decent amount around 3 days (something to factor in depending on grow style / medium, i.e. plan your waterings). The girls in coco seemed to dry out around about the same as usual, but their strip was far less aggressive and obviously there will be natural drying out from the fabric pots and enviro. pH dropped around .7 over 18hrs or so as the drinking ramped up, EC remained the same at least within the ~0.10 resolution that my meter provides. Seems to have stabilized after correcting, for the last day and a half or so, but will monitor.

Thanks All Would love to hear what yáll find with side-by-side on known cuts and appreciate all the input on this thread. Did a res change and just under 0.2EC bump day after snip (1.4 nute + 0.2 base water). The lighting defs alters the colour and it's a lot of new growth, but will bump feed up some more in 1-2 days depending on how she's looking, drinking, res. EC, etc. Given there's a lot of new growth and I've assumed slowed down transpiration, which will ramp up with leaf growth, I don't really want to increase feed too much while she's bouncing back, unless I were to see a drop in res. EC for e.g. Naturally you don't know the strain, my nutes, supps, etc. but any advice on theoretical feed given the stress recovery? My POA was just to dump and change res. around 5-7 days as a safety measure. My clivia might grow a set of tits from another res. dump on them, but hey, who doesn't like tits on their clivia?

A few quick snapped regrowth pics: 18hrs, 24hrs, 32hrs, 2.25days respectively. Missed one pic op. so there's double the regen time between the last two. I'm sure there was a way to upload images inline in the post, but can't suss it out. Not much to report, regrowth is rapid, will prob update at 1 week point with a few more pics and then closer to harvest, unless anything interesting or unusual crops up. EDIT: meh the pics have uploaded in an arbitrary order, the file names will show time. Sorry about that.

Jland[/member] Ya his topping tech is the tits. Nice even canopy! Having semi-mainlined this girl, and then used his topping tech to even out canopy, has created a bit of a challenge with branching for me. Perhaps more strain/pheno dependent, not sure, but something to watch for. I could've/should've done more lollipopping in veg, even quite high up, or perhaps avoided the topping tech altogether given the mainlining.

Thanks for the pro input I do not think this is why he strips this early. He hasn't mentioned vertical growth, nor evening out watering in live shows, and the strip is addressed frequently. I may be wrong, for sure, but I believe with regard to watering, he was talking about the room being uneven due to it taking a long time to strip. He has mentioned that often. One side of the room will be drinking more until they're stripped. Stretch will/may be stunted for sure but I do *think* in this vid he was merely referring to that crop and not as a motivation for stripping. What I have gleaned is he used to strip at 21 like most others and gradually dialed it back further and further. As to an exact reason he does it this early, I cannot specify. The shows and vids are often a bit of scattered thoughts. The points I have taken away from it which apply to any defoliation in any case: He double nets so aggressive strip for good penetration He waits a couple days and then puts the netting on - - minimizing damage while stripping and netting by getting it done earlier Other than that he merely says he gets results this way and the only real caveat being it's better not to strip if you're not filling out the space. As to my motivations, merely watching a lot of his show and seeing how others on the panel who try it, react to their results. My canopy was very dense and penetration was poor, I have been itching to open it up since last day of veg when last mildly stripped. Completely agreed, and did state a few times, that without side-by-side no real data is gained.

Hahaha, nice one for following through with your POA. Will pray upon a pyp for your girls One thing to be said, RH bliss after the strip.

Ya the bundle of sticks is pretty shocking. After making this thread I had to rewatch that a few times while listening to Eye of the Tiger just so I don't cry myself to sleep.

Hey all, thanks for the interest. Holding thumbs. Watching GML quite a bit, and seeing how those on the panel of the live show react when they try it, was the inspiration for such an aggressive strip and the week/day to hit her on. It's naturally quite controversial. Other two girls in same cab I stripped last night, but not AS aggressively as they're not filling out the space as much. Can't tag as lots of peeps but to address some Qs. Will watch for nanners *Virtually* anything that had a stem I cut, within some semblance of reason Stretch [seemed] to have ceased (have been getting 10mins 730nm at lights out) 7-8 week strain (apparently - they're from seed) I feed, water, feed, water cycle the girls in coco, water cycled the day before so medium wasn't too wet/dry. They were hit less aggressively but there's still less leaf for transpiration. DWC res seems stable, no pH drift nor EC flux. Last two cents; one girl was a lot further ahead [edit: still day 14/15, same strain, prob diff pheno] and a battle to strip without bruising. I think if one is set on going this aggressively with the strip, there might be a lot of damage done to bud development by working on them, if hitting them too far along. Otherwise not much to report on. Will post bounce back or failure. Can't post side-by-side, which would obviously be more valuable.

I'll just leave this here:

I thought so too when eventually finishing around 3am (FML for choosing night time for lights on). Looking at the pic now, I see the odd lurker I would've cut I'll post tears or bounce back in 4-7 days. Don't have a side by side comparison as all from bean, different medium and strain. May try side-by-side on next run if like the strain(s)
-
I feel like a murderer. Before and hours after pics, what a mission.

Organics gurus got you covered on the pH and amendments ... A few more bob on the fabric pots: Elevate them as much as you're able to, to allow some airflow. It'll help them dry out more evenly. Even just a couple cms will help. Can't tell from the pic if they are already. If the bottom inch of the fabric pots are soggy af, which is often the case I find with mine, could try a small layer of hydroton on the bottom, next transplant (if you haven't already and you're potting up), and/or an intermittent, or thermostat controlled, heating pad underneath provided it doesn't raise ambient temps/root zone too much. I'm not in soil, but often the top of the medium will be dry and a small bamboo probe or feel of the bottom of the pot is moist.
-
Possibly merely 'wet feet' issues from the medium not drying out properly between waterings. Root rot probs. usually begin with overwater / anaerobic environment, which gives a nice environment to breed root baddies. Though more likely just unhappy roots from wet medium. Fabric pots often dry out unevenly, which is frustrating.

That's pretty sweet. Is the connection to phone universal, or did you DIY strap it to lens? Anyone tried the shitty digital ones?

Lol, ya no spoon feeding going on here but the info provided is all legit to my more limited knowledge. Excess K impacts Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn. Excess P can screw nitrate uptake Excess Ca impacts Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn. Canna's schedule (like many others) uses PK 13/14 around week 3 with not much adjustment. Rhizotonic is a seaweed extract AFAIK and is in bloom schedule, Boost is just molasses type again AFAIK, Cannazym is what? Fulvic / humics? Been watching Vader OGs channel, many peeps follow his ebb and flow method for coco grows, hence fixation on Canna line currently. For your situation, wouldn't molasses serve for the needed K boost? Anyone? I mostly just run synthetics.

GML (Grand Master Level) on Youtube has tons of vids and live shows on leaf stripping. He hits it hard end week 2, I think to try and avoid too much bruising, and nothing major thereafter. Concur with Justin that mostly you'll see people hitting it at week 3. His vids and shows have got some great info, though largely repeating his topping tech, leaf strip, and aggressive flush, over and over. Well worth a look IMO.

Ya, addressing the COB in your post. I'll try be more succinct or at least brief; COBs aren't grow lights, they've been adapted by DIYers to be so. Cree have commented how ridiculous they think it is, apparently. Due to this you just don't see a COB, in my knowledge and stand to correction, targeting the Chlorophyll A and B peaks, particularly the red (660nm). They hit *one* spectrum and the CRI rating depicts how close they are to that spectrum. Therefore the posted COB *seems* to be produced to target growers. Cynic: why? The tech isn't going that direction. This doesn't meant there cannot be quality components/fixtures. There have been all along, just using different diodes. If you just want to purchase something ASAP and don't have time to research or have concern of quality, go with known and used COBs (cree, vero, citizen). If you want best tech (currently) quantum boards. SA only have makelight that I've seen. You can order QB and COB fixtures internationally but customs might hurt you if the HR codes are wrong, particularly on individual components. If you want to try and learn some more, watching Greengenes and Growmau5 will help but lots to watch to get head around it. Techtalks on Greengenes channel is good place to start, perhaps.
