Justin Hemp
Well well well, spent over 20 years smoking the tree of knowledge and only most recently got the urge to grow for myself. Mid life crisis my wife tells me lol but fuck it you only live once and after recently loosing my father in law to cancer I'm getting this shit down . Wanted something built to last so grabbed myself some plywood sheets and made a box measuring inside 750mm x 1200mm x 2000mm Lined it out with Sisalation Placed some serious hinges and lock on to make it air and spy tight lol. Had a bit of time to waste while waiting for lights and ventilation so made a 225 watt veg light for anyone interested. Back to the action: Got myself 3 x cree cbx3590 3500k cobs hit them together on some aluminium angle iron and rigged them up on some chain and converted turnbuckles for a easier adjustment. Ventilation costed me a few joints pondering on size and whether to run it full or low, ended up getting a 150mm inline fan...overkill yes but I run it on low. It sucks far better than a Green point lady of the night and is fairly quiet. Still going to put it in a sound proof box and diy carbon filter needs to be attended to, needless to say the carbon filter is also going to set me back a few joints. Seriously need to look for a sponsor....Anyone? Most importantly let me introduce myself and hope you all enjoy my ride and obviously all comments and guidance is appreciated. I'm from Cape Town and keen to hook up with all, whether you in need of something or perhaps you can assist me. I'm growing in a mixed soil from hydro shop with all the good shit in it. Currently have 2 female clones of DC OG and Vanilla. Beans are for indoor bag those are 2 unknown from a friend and 2 Critical Mass and 2 Sour Diesel. That's all for now thank you guys and gals, and no doubt they is something I have forgotten and will post soon. Peace Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Justin Hemp
One question pls all. What nutes would you all recommend for the veg cycle? So far I only have Kelpak and Bio Bizz the Bio Grow. Have a cheapie ph test kit, but would like the pen asap or even a ppm pen. Recommendations on Ph in the begging of seeds and clones? I'm trying for between 5.5 and 6. 420SA
Great looking setup you got there Justin What soil mix is that exactly? What's in it? If it's organic then you won't need to bother much with PH as they soil mix should sort that out if it's decent

Justin Hemp
Thanks for all the kind words all. Not 100% sure of the exact composition of the soil but I specifically asked for the living organic soil mix with the worm casting and they immediately knew what I wanted, Hydro shop in Claremont Cape Town. zairek
I'd recommend a compost tea, cos thats what works with my organic soil grow. Did you add mycorhizae to your soil? Really, what and how you feed depends on your soil recipe, please describe in more detail.

Other than that it's fucking cold atm so hope the plants survive, temps in the box not to bad. Pretty much all for now, keep it real. Justin Hemp
Will have a look at getting some ingredients for the teas. Thanks for the advice bud Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Justin Hemp
So I had a look into making this tea and omg it's simple yet complicated lol. Haven't looked into how often you need to feed the tea but the one down point is it's best to use immediately. And then it's another few hours stirring the solution or have to find a small air pump. Was hoping the cost of equipment at least was coming to an end, clearly not Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Justin Hemp
The girls are really showing their first true set of leaves. Made a mix of Bio Grow, Kelpak and a touch of Aminomix together for first real feeding. Hope this was ok, tried to keep everything 1/4 of initial dosages. zairek
20 is my ideal germ temp and sseedlings Most references suggest 27C as ideal, interesting that you have success at 20C . I guess much depends on how you germinate and how/where u measure. Under the humidity dome ?
Green Leaf Organics
20-26 above 27 and you run a large risk of seedlings damping off
