Green Leaf Organics
Sorry bud was in a rush. My sentence should have said anything above 27 or below 20 will run the risk of damping off Damping off- taken from Planet Natural , it can effect most plants A soil-borne fungal disease that affects seeds and new seedlings, damping off usually refers to the rotting of stem and root tissues at and below the soil surface. In most cases, infected plants will germinate and come up fine, but within a few days they become water-soaked and mushy, fall over at the base and die. Several fungi can cause decay of seeds and seedlings including species of rhizoctonia, fusarium andphytophthora. However, species of the soil funguspythium are most often the culprit. Damping off typically occurs when old seed is planted in cold, wet soil and is further increased by poor soil drainage. High humidity levels, rich potting soils and planting too deeply will also encourage its growth. Fungal spores live in the soil and are primarily a problem in seed beds. They can be transported on garden tools and in garden soils taken into the house or greenhouse.
Brown-dawg
Right. That's a real problem. I had that before in a windowsill and it got too hot and one of the stems literally kinked and went mushy just above soil line. Thanks for head up and info. Trying to get my properly insulated box up and ready.
Justin Hemp
Update Time: For now everything is looking very healthy, the Vanilla clone is taking off like a rocket. DC still hanging in there. Got some Mycoroot, Bio fish and Aminomix to add to the Kelpak and Bio Grow I already have. Really need to work out a feeding schedule....this is where you all can help me....in figuring out what to use when and at the same time how much PPM should be on start up and build my way up from there. Give me your suggestions pls Gang. Here is a few updated photos: Added: Has anyone used the granular Calmag and if so what sort of ratio per litre are we looking at? Guest shadowassasin
Yeah for me 20 to 25 is just right no more no less. Damping is a bugger. I had a friend that used to put a drop of water on the the top/split/leaf. He asked why do they keep dying and falling over lol ? Had to ask why he did that? he thought it woud be a good idea to be like "the dew" in the morning running down its steam ha aha aha And for where I messure the probe is on the same level as the where the seeds sit on a germ box. next to them in the box. Justin Hemp
Started with my first Microbial tea 48 hours ago and fed the girls tonight. I hope it all came out OK. Will check in the morning to make sure they haven't fallen over. Have a new addition to the family in a Girl Scout cookie, another unrooted clone and I've had her for 5 days, she is still around and healthy so I hope that's a good sign. Temps a bit on the low side but not keen on a heater at this point because I worried it may cause a fire lol. Some pics of before the feed and a little of what's been happening for the last few days. Thanks for the interest shown. Cheers All. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Justin Hemp
Hey Z, only saw the post now. Justin Hemp
And here is the recipe for the tea if anyone is up to it. Took a Lil hunt to find everything but OK that's another story. The handwritten ratios below are for 20 litres which gets diluted to make 100 litres- which is what Sun Valley (a 420 international and THC farmer member) uses on his grow. Which begs the question holy F@ck how many plants does he have !!!. So obviously do the ratios to your requirements in terms of litres needed to end up with. The vinegar is not written down but that's also 20ml. Cook for minimum of 36 but best at 48 hours. 420SA
Where are you gonna source your Aloe juice from?
Justin Hemp
I got the Aloe juice from a health shop. It's a brand called Nature's Choice. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

420SA
Doesn't their Aloe juice contain Sodium Benzoate? I've read that you shouldn't feed with an aloe juice if it contains sodium benzoate
Justin Hemp
I believe it does have it included as a preserving agent, so far the plants haven't died yet. Ultimately I'm only using 1ml per 5 litre feed, and this after cooking for 48 hours. It has great benefits including salicylic acid, a natural rooting hormone, vitamins, enzymes, plant growth regulators, systemic aquire resistance and microbial properties, so I hope these out weight the negatives. Justin Hemp
Howzit All !!! Back for an update, have had much time to log on but none the less, the grow has taken some time out of what's been a hectic 2 weeks....boring work shit but hey someone's gotta do it lol. So down to the good stuff... I have put up a fire ball above the grow box because fire is a real thing and it just loves wood so f@ck that sh1t I'm rather overly cautious. The GSC clone is showing some growth so it's a good start on that. The DC and Vanilla have started getting some LST and seem to be enjoying it. Justin Hemp
App keeps cutting out so here is a bit more.... Started with a small Veg/ clone box to put that diy light to use. Got a little heater for the main box to pick up the temps as I think it's not quite where it can be, hope it helps. Add to all this, I have included a pic of a friends Gorilla Glue which is the same age as my seedlings but a lot bigger due to going full coco. Not without a few incidents she is looking great. Last but not least a full view of all... Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
zairek
Great skills, lst looking real neat. Have you thought of using a hid lamp? Will help with the temperature concerns.
Justin Hemp
Hey Z, been a little busy lately an unable to update...thought about HID but was attracted to the efficiency of the cobs in terms of PAR and PPFD and worried about summer heat, it's a little more difficult to cool down a space I would think. Anyway another little update of what's happening: Up potted the 2 clones as the leaves were showing a little yellow and I think it was a good thing by the look of the roots. Now I need your thoughts on this and there is some contradicting information out there. When it comes to feeding your plants is the correct PH going in important OR is it the PH that runs off that's important? Would live to hear the community thoughts on that. Have or had issues with lock out I think as bottom leaves of seedlings went yellow on the tips and burnt. The stems was Red and are a bit still, so is/was the clones although they say this can happen because of the LST. Thanks for the visit. You want the correct PH going in. Your plants are quite looking hungry which is why you're getting those red stems, they need more N. Maybe up the dosage a bit on those nutes. Strange that you'd be getting a deficiency so early on with those plants though. Makes me think the soil PH might be a bit off
