I have been looking to invest in this Hey brother, Please, I'm about to say what I am out of care only and help possibly. I was out doing my hunt on these in Dec, and was getting quotes on the exact same unit as you, and was at the Chinese General store in PE, when this guy who has birds and breeds them, saw me looking at them and he told me he bought a modified wave inverter and his birds heating pad burnt out and something about a light too. But I thought to myself, oh what does he know and I the next day bought the Mecer 1440w and setup everything, the next day I actually switched off the power myself to check and had my TV as the check unit. Needless to say the TV had u slight buzzing and got hot as hell in 10min, and took it back for this above, with pure sine waves and have been really happy. I make reference only as it's not good for electronic devices and just be cautious and check for any heat or buzzing.
TheUltimateNoob
If I may add mine too... I run my 1000w draw off it for 6 hours and made coffee too over dec with power off 3 times that day, at 2 hours each time. 3kva with 4x 105ah heavy duty First of @SkunkPharm Awesome thread bro, honestly I didn't make it through everything, lol. Will try to follow along. And@StickyD420 Bro I'm seriously interested in setting this up. Could you message me like a pricing of some sort? And a general list of components... I have - I would say - a good knowledge on electrical circuits and have designed a solar powered system somewhere lying around.Just never thought of actually doing this to compensate for my lighting hours... Always set it up to have dark cycles during the load shedding hours and opened the tent for a hour or however long to wake the plants up if I needed to while the lights were out. The_StonedTrooper
@TheUltimateNoob Bro, for sure... I got a guy at Battery Power Zone, he can check if they still got stock of these still, they are old stock but cheap for a 3kva and he brought this in from JHB or there around for me, will check with him tomorrow and help you out with pleasure brother.

The_StonedTrooper
Check that model on Google and specs tonight before I ask him, you might not like it, or prefer something else. It's like 85 to 90% efficient there around from 2015 but you'll pay for newer models.

Those components can be sourced locally.I have a general idea on how that kind of unit works, but I just need to check some specifics online. I'll design and wire my own with a circuit breaker and stuff.I really appreciate the info broSent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk

afternoon blazer
I can give u guys more info if needed Take your total watt usage. X factor of 3 for safety. That value = wattage of inverter required Example. 500w total power including lights. Heaters. Fans. Etc. X 3 for safety. ( surge watts) 500x3 = 1500w Size of inverter 1500w Then for the battery. Minumium requirement "Deep cyle" Lets assume a 12v battery is used. And lets say you want to run your 500w for 4 hours. 500x4/12 = 167 ah 500w - 4 hours - 12volts - 167amp hour battery ( batteries usually come commonly between 100 - 110ah ) So best to get 2 x 100ah batteries. The more shit u wana run. The bigger the inverter required. The more longer u wana run the shit. The bigger the battery required. Hope this helps guys. SkunkPharm
I here what you are saying about sine wave inverters by I am only running a couple of lights off these batteries.. They all have passive heat sinks on. And running one fan to keep it cool. My father has been running his tv off the same inverter for years with no problems.
Bos
Most Deepcycle batts don't like going lower than 50% SOC. The life of the battery could be severely shortened, so technically you only have half of the stated AH available.Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk 1

Those batteries dont go lower then a certain amount. If u not getting the required power for the requires time. Then all u do is add another battery. Extend the duration
