SkunkPharm
Beetles are mostly helping you get rid of other pests. Probably eating ants? Just a guess.Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk
Totemic
Agreed. Most beetles are carnivorous. They eat anything they can find.
CG420za
Oh yes, there are no visible pests on Candi. LOL, that's what my friend calls her.
Stuntman Mike
I have those exact same critters. They are definitely vegetarian - caught them munching my leaves, but they don't seem to do too much damage. I tried googling what they were, but came up empty handed.
Trailblazer420
Could you maybe take a close up of the bug? Is it not some sort of squash bug? Sent from my EVA-L09 using Tapatalk

Spot on: https://www.agric.wa.gov.au/pome-fruit/garden-weevil-vineyards?nopaging=1 I've had a different type of weevils in my kitchen cupboards before, Bloody nuisance, they munch all your grains and get into everything! Didn't realise these were the same family.
