AcidAlice
I have the following extraction set up. https://growguru.co.za/collections/environment-management/products/in-line-duct-fan-td-silent https://growguru.co.za/collections/environment-management/products/quantum-carbon-filter-4 However it feels like I can blow with more force than this fan. What's wrong? EDIT: It's wired to the fast speed. Edited June 15, 2019 by AcidAlice
greenkush
That extraction fan essentially almost equals the same CFM of your carbon filter, which is why you don't feel much suction. So there is nothing wrong, remember you won't feel this insane suction near the filter, I am run an 8inch fan on a 6inch filter and I don't even feel any movement. However when I close everything I can immediately see negative pressure. 1
Dr. Green
I had that same fan. I upgraded to the 125mm version which is much bigger and works much much better than the 100mm and also runs quieter. I only went for the 125mm as my filter came with 100mm / 125mm flanges. My lesson learnt just start with a 150mm and be done with it 1
AcidAlice
Will this be better? https://gthydro.co.za/products/966-imf-mixed-flow-fan-6-150mm.html https://gthydro.co.za/products/159-carbon-filter-air-scrubber-6-500mm.html Thinking of getting that and using my other gear for the dry room. oros da boss
Hello Acid Alice. Mixed flow fans aren't idea for sucking throuğh a filter. Hydor HIT is a much better option. That silent TD one is also a MF. Metal cased Centrifugal fans are designed to pull air through a silencer or filter.
