Smelly Joe Posted November 11, 2019 Share Posted November 11, 2019 Guess I'll do my part of posting in this section. I feel bad for now posting sooner but we all know what's what when it happens. Can't recall my initial starting date (sorry). 1st up is a pic of 4 seedling in the 20th October. 2 didn't make it after popping. 2 seedlings didn't look to well but kept them anyway. When the other 2 started growing they just stood still so I decided to pull them. Which left me with these 2.... I moved them outdoors and they are happily growing in the sun...underneath 40 % shade cloth.... They are being fed Seagro at 5ml per liter. The grow medium is coco. The reason for that is for when I transplant to a coco/perlite mix. The coco makes a nice rootball. I am now waiting on sex and then I'll move them into bigger pots and prep for flowering. Smelly Joe Posted November 24, 2019 Author Share Posted November 24, 2019 And here we go... She showed herself and at that exact moment she was snatched up and repotted to a 25L pot. I might leave her now for about a week to settle in before I pull het down and start her training....... Might even start this afternoon. Her 1st rays of sun hits her at 06:50 and the last direct sun is at 16:45. That's a really decent amount of sun for her and the other ladies so I'm sure she's gonna have fun growing where she is at. She will get her usual dose of Seagro but hopefully if all works out then I'm picking up a 25L can of guano next week. Then I'll be more involved in the teas. I am giving the plants 2 feedings a week and it's gets a lot when it comes to feeding. Any good uses for rabbit droppings??? We went to a job and passed by the coast and picked up some kelp. Chopped it up and made a tea. He added some guano to it. I took 5L and diluted it and gave to the ladies. Dank Posted December 4, 2019 Share Posted December 4, 2019 Looking good @Smelly Joe they can be quite hungry so I think will respond nicely to the teas and brews, the microbial life must be loving it! One thing I would say is just how the Kelp was treated after collection. It should soak in a big tub of water to help leech out some of the salts that could cause issues. If your friend is using it without issues it should be fine, I use it in soil building from time to time, soaked in a old tub for a day or two then dried again, crushed and into the soil/compost building. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

She taken off again and looking very healthy but the leafs still has that lite green color. The wind hasn't done any harm so she surely is strong and a fighter. The leafs is a good size too. I pulled the main cola down and tied it to one of the structure poles. That way I can train it up the pole if she grows taller. The bottom growth has catched up very well and it's almost an even canopy. I scratched the surface and luckily still not rootbound. I pulled in a joint, a cup of coffee and the spade and made a home for the lady... I dropped some compost in the bottom and added Mycoroot and Rock Phosphate just to please her... Seeing that I pulled her down a little bit earlier in the season I decided to keep going with it... She is opened up nicely and I defoliated her a little by getting rid of all those huge ass leafs. Smelly Joe Posted February 2, 2020 Author Share Posted February 2, 2020 Things has not been well for the lady after the wind storms we had and she took a hell of a beating. Some of her limbs were pretty damaged and forced to be removed which left me with this. It took some time for her to recover hence the reason for not updating as I should. Sorry @Dank. But the left over parts is the good parts and the ones that matter. The wind basically lollipopped her for me so I should be grateful in a way, I guess She pre sexed and she's off to do her thing. Super excited to see what she's gonna bring to my jars.... She is still looking good after the serious beating, happy about the recovery, just keep a eye out for male saks on her, I have had some of these Cookie hybrids go hermie on me after serious stress. I don't want to let you stress out, but just mentioning it in-case the worst happens, wouldn't want to ruin the rest of your crop. Sometimes it will only make one or two male saks and then carry on flowering as usual, those i just pluck before they want to open, but if more male flowers develop on new bud sites I cull the plant. Smelly Joe Posted February 9, 2020 Author Share Posted February 9, 2020 And here she is with another update. Things is moving along well now and she seems to have settled in and shook off the dust. She is in flower at last and I am super happy about it. I almost thought that she was gonna start flowering very late. But she finally started so let get going... Here is a full shot of the lady. I am still continuing to remove the smaller growth that starts downwards on the stems. I am also inspecting daily for that surprise male sacs to talked about @Dank but so far nothing. Here is a top view of the lady as good as I could get one. After the pics were taken I found that I had extra bag of compost laying behind the bonsai's, so I mulched her and the rest of the garden around her... And what would a update be without a main bud shot and as you clearly see,......pistils While checking that everything is fine I found a new tenant. Not sure what type of spider it is and didn't want to disturb it. I will leave it for now. It has taken residence at one of the main colas. Good location if I say so myself That's all the good pics and happy things, but with all goodness a little bad comes along with it. I noticed the one leaf edge showing this. Im not sure if it's from the foliar feeding or maybe the roots got disturbed with hectic wind. Or maybe it's...... nothing . The 2nd Pic is most probably from the wind, which then rules out that white spot in the 1st pic . But nonetheless she is fine and nothing seems to be a mobile deficiency So that's it for now. Smelly Joe Posted February 15, 2020 Author Share Posted February 15, 2020 @Dank, it's time for some pics. I read your post in Bospatrollie's post but so far I am blessed with no hermie sacs, so far. She has grown a bit since last and she is happy as can be. So it's never to early to start teaching the young ones what to do. I pulled in the help of my 3 year old son and made a little raised bed around the lady and to house some new herbs for the kitchen, to plant out some bonsai to grow, and just and overall happy spot for plants etc. I filled it up with so e of my own homemade compost with added goodies from the mountains. a Side view of the lady with a background of note lol. Her 1st rays of sun gets to her at 07:35 until 17:05. That's a decent amount of sun and with her definitely settled in and flowering only good things will come... And a shot of one of the main buds, so long...... Found a hover bee waking up on the Kush Cookies I will be keeping an eye out for any sacs if any and will also be pulling some branches down. Very nice pictures and what a background indeed Love that picture with the Mesculitos standing gaurd, I think she woulda hermed from that previous stress by now, and if its a fullblown herm it usually shows up very early, might be the case with one of @Bospatrollie2 s ladies. I need to get to plastic warehouse and get a couple of those big tubs and pot them out. The one on the left is from Plettenberg Bay and the one on the right from Worcester.
