30 Days From Seed

Got the girls repotted and transplanted into 20L fabric pots. The tent is looking much more occupied now with 12 plants! Feels just like it should.

I will be using three 240W Quantum Board LEDs, one for every four plants. It worked really well in the last grow so how about we just triple it 8-)

Starting off the QBs at ~120W each in the current veg stage and I like keeping them around 40cm from canopy. I find this is the sweet spot, but I always watch the plants for stress and try increasing power as we work towards the flowering stage.

I am so much more at ease with the full LED setup over the HID bulbs. It's so much less "stuff" and looks super neat. I will consider myself a full convert after the success of this grow; I haven't just yet thrown out the cool tubes and ballasts😛

why are these ladies looking a bit hungry?

I've been light on the nutes. I was trying to gauge the strength of the new coco. Didn't want to go and burn the shit out of the seedlings and they got a bit hungry 😆

Otherwise, looks like I have one plant that's getting a bit taller than the others, it is one of the Aurora Indicas. Out of the 4 planted this one decided to be a stretcher. I may just try my hand at super-cropping on this one 🤔

Here is my first attempt at supercropping 😷

I am doing this to stop the taller Aurora Indica from getting too out of hand. It is also another first and if successful is just another tool in the toolbox of growing goodies.

Giving that lady some rough knuckles eh? yeah, supercropping most definitely the best way to even out the canopy without moving the pot out of your lights "sweet spot"

@Ill_Evan brobeans. Please update the supercrop lady abit often if u can. Would love to see how it turns out. Very handy tool.

This morning already the supercropped Aurora Indica is already perking up. Looking a lot more level but still only just slightly taller, but a lot better.

very good very good.

plants are looking tip top bru.

good work on the super crop, it turned out well! i would just remove one leaf in the mix - the one that when you first super cropped was covering everything.

LOL i had a forced supercrop session the other day when one of my qbs fell after i adjusted it, and it smashed a branch properly... shame... luckily i had a trellis to hold up the broken cola... and now she has a fat knuckle!!

I've done some defoliating on the bottom halves of the plants. The extra space makes watering much easier and the plants are looking pretty neat and tidy.

I am pretty much ready to flip 8-) I am already looking to beat my last harvest by some and I don't want to over-veg. I'd say I am close to halfway high on one corner of the tent.

The supercropped Aurora Indica is looking pretty level at last. Very happy with the management of that particular girl.

Yip yip! Flip is officially today. Total time since seed is 46 days 🤓

I've taken clones of the GDP, Royal Gorilla, Zkittlez x Purple Punch and Aurora Indica.

The Aurora Indica last harvest was really nice after a cure so I'd like to get some more of that. I'd like more of the Zkittlez x Purple Punch as only one of the three seeds survived, although I don't know what the strain is like yet.

Mates want some of the GDP and Royal Gorilla, how can I say no?

Cloning for the first few times has also been a treat.

Guys. This got way bigger than expected 😆 I think I may be sorted for a year after this 🤣

Can't stop won't stop though 8-)

One objective was to fill the entire 2.4x1.2 canopy. I think mission accomplished.

I am very impressed with the quantum boards. When using two 400W HPS I was hitting like R1200 a month on electricity. These three quantum boards are getting less than R700 a month and electricity is pretty expensive around these parts (R2.69/kWh), so anything saved is a win. Beating the heat is also a major win as well. This time two years ago I was eating that heat with the HPS bulbs. Lastly where it counts, growth performance has been pretty comparable.

I do still believe the science which says that HPS is unbeatable when it comes to spectrum and bud density/production. But damn man, I have only experienced positives so far with these QBs.

The end result of the flowers will seal the deal for me. My expectations are reasonable based off the little test run I did in the last grow with the 4 soil plants under a single 240W QB, and those honestly came out so good.

69 Days From Seed / 23 Days From Flip

I always enjoy this part of the grow when the development of the buds are most prominent and observable from day to day 🤓

I've cleaned up the lower parts of the plants since the last update to allow for easier watering and to focus the energy to the mid/upper parts.

Canopy is sitting at about 30cm thick and light penetration for the most part is hitting every bud sight.

Watering now about every 3 days. These girls can take a total of 50L to get fully fed.

The supercropped girl has also come out very well and I most certainly will add the technique to my arsenal of tricks for future grows. 100% would recommend for eager plants wanting to grow a little taller than needed.

I've also only now popped on the carbon filter. Don't want to get the neighbors too excited just yet 😛 they're just as excited as I am to test out the assortment of strains I will soon have.

Can I call this a dagga lab yet?

12 x 240W LED Grow lights, as new, for sale.
6 are with wooden frame and 6 are with aluminum frame.
Wooden frame is more expensive but if you buy the lot then price will be the same for all.

      Hello growers
I would love to have an opinion on this topic. Let me update you on what I have been working with. I have a one plant indoor grow inside a 80cm x 80cm grow tent. I use a 40l fabric pot with both Orgasoilux and Freedom farms soil (green bag). The bottom half I use Orgasoilux(20l) and the top half I use Freedom farms soil(20l). Throughout veg all I give the plant is Biodyne Environoc 401 (microbes), Molasses and water. This results in an extremely healthy plant.
Once I flip to flower I start using organic bottled nutrients. In the past I have used Biobizz Bio-bloom, and more recently I have used Dirty hands inc - Bio-Phos (Jamie's brand). I give 3ml Bio-Phos once a week early flower and up it to 5ml every week mid to late flower. Plus a molasses feeding every 2 weeks and stopped using Biodyne microbes 1 week into flower.
I was thinking about completely ditching bottled nutrients and going the topdressing route for flower. I was thinking of maybe topdressing a week before the flip with Jamie's elemental blend. I am just worried if it will provide enough for the plants through to harvest. I was also thinking of maybe using my own topdressing blend of Dry kelp, Gypsum, Malted Barley and Worm Castings. Would love an opinion on switching to topdressing for flower and if the elemental blend should be more than enough to take me to harvest. If you think I should just stick to bottled nutrients for flower let me know. I am going to include photo's of my 2 previous grows using the method I have stated above. Just trying to get the best quality flower possible :)
      Some thoughts of mine...…
      Topdressing vs Liquid Nutrients?
Biobizz Bio-Bloom vs Dirty Hands Inc Bio-Phos?
One topdressing enough 1 week before flip?
Elemental Blend or my own flowering mix?
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      My Grow:
Medium: Top Half Freedom Farms soil (20l) + bottom half Orgasoilux(20l)
Additives and Amendments: Molasses + Biodyne Environoc 401 Microbes + Dirty Hands Inc - Bio-Phos + Mycoroot (seedling)
      -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      (Seedling)
      - Solo Cup + Freedom Farms soil + Mycoroot
-Transplant in week 2 of veg to 40l
      -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      (Veg Stage)
      - initial inoculant 2ml Environoc Microbes
-1ml per litre  Environoc every 2 weeks
-5ml per litre Molasses every 2 weeks
-Stop Environoc 1 week into flower
      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      (Flower Stage)
-3ml Bio-Phos every week (early flower)
-5ml Bio-Phos every week (late flower)
      -5ml Molasses every 2 weeks
-Stop Bio-Phos 2 weeks before harvest
      -Feed molasses until harvest
