Hi guys,

Can anyone help to ID these buggers?

I see them flying on the top of the soil and even go "into" the soil.

Could these be fungus gnats?

Using FF soil (green bag)

Thanks in advance.

Me again, that dude that keeps harping on about cinnamon powder.
If you haven't tried it yet sprinkle some on the surface of your soil and work it in a few cm.
You won't find unwanted larvae and gnats.
I add cinnamon to all my soil and have been safe so far.
I'm busy with a soil test grow from a local dude and thought I'll leave the soil as is. GNATS. Good thing I only used a 10l pot. Added cinnamon to the remainder of soil that I left outdoors and sprinkled the affected one. Everything back to normal.

@DamDave how much cinnamon do you add?

@Wulf I agree with @CreX it does not look like a fungus gnat. No clue what it may be though. Sorry.
If it's a sprinkle on top of the soil, very little. I use one of those small bags off the supermarket shelf mixed into 60l. I don't think you can overdo it but then I haven't tried.
