Toby
Hi Guys, I have normally done the peat pellets way for my cloning purposes. I have read and have seen input from members here that the aeroponics route, roots quicker. I have build a DIY aeroponics cloner. Its currently been running a week with no root indications. With the cold weather we having will the res temp influence the rate of developing roots? Just using my finger as as gauge the water is quite cold. Should I use the heater to get it up to 22 degrees Celsius to help along the process? I have been using plain dechlorinated water with no nutrients or hormones. The clones are under a 10w led grow light. Any input on this matter will be highly appreciated?
Green Leaf Organics
I presume you mean a clone bubbler? If so heater set at 23.6 degrees. Cheers Reaf Ps aquarium heaters are never accurate so you will need to check the temperature with another device
Toby
Thanks Reaf, thats correct. I have updated the subject line not to confuse. Ill pop in the heater later and monitor further.
Guest Maxwell
Aero or a bubbler? Aero need to have nice fine mist, else it takes just as long. Also the water needs to be comfortable, but so does the ambient temperature, warm water in a cold environment won't make much difference. As Reaf says, the aquarium heaters are dud, you'll need to monitor them.
ajcapetown
I was actually also wondering about water temps for a bubble cloner. I made up a little one recently, going to be trying it soon. Would placing it on a heating mat do any good? Think heating mats are around 25'c?
Green Leaf Organics
Heating mat might work but I found 25 to hot as it will promote rot and fungi Cheers Reaf
Dabtzar
I find the sweet spot is between 22-24. Heating matt below your container connected to a thermostat is perfect and you get point precision. the bigger the bubbler just add more heating pads to the outer case..
