CG420za
Sup @cheese420, I've been using that shitty thing all along, tested it on lemon juice between readings, it wasn't off by too much, but still not close enough to what we want. Anyways, pH pen's in the post so hopefully this will be the end of the issues. Used lemon juice in the water to bring down the pH, I'm not brave enough to use the actual "pH down" without the pen. Have you ever noticed how heavy that bottle is?
CG420za
Shot Skolley, I actually checked it out last night after you suggested the gnats. No sign of any critters, that was with the fans off. I'll keep monitoring though. Do you think I could get those pipettes at the pharmacy? I ordered the pH up and down and it arrived yesterday. Thought I could use a syringe, eish.
CG420za
Good idea on the eye drop bottle @Skolley! Totally feel you on sticky syringes, I use them at work, such a mission when they stick. I'll try the pharmacy later, but at the same time, I'm not going to try the pH down without the pH pen. I've been missing around enough with out it. I may just cause more problems down the line. So what do you think, if it's not a gnat problem, lock out? Green Leaf Organics
Definitely ph issues... those meters suck and are no were near accurate enough for hydro. They sort of work in soil but I still wouldn't trust them to much.... then again I haven't used a ph meter in years....Maybe they have improved
CG420za
Going on what I've seen with them, they're still crap in soil or liquid. The readings are always different, but I estimate within the range it gives. Hopefully I'll get my pen today, then I'll burn that meter
CG420za
Small update guys, I think I've resolved the pH issue, the girls are greening up again, new growth and stems are losing the purpleness. They've grown alot since Monday, I've had to raise the lights every morning. Working pH meter's FTW!
cheese420
I think that second picture speaks volumes! Very nice man....Did you get your pH pen then Im assuming?
CG420za
Yip @cheese420, I got a cheapie with ATC from designer water. R395 incl postage. That pH down stuff is strong hey, 1 drop took the pH from 6.3 to 5.4, 5 drops of pH up to get to 5.
cheese420
Nice man its definitely well worth the purchase. Yeah I was quite surprised at how little is needed. Hmm I have read quite a few threads about people avoiding using the pH up if they overshoot with the pH down. They seem to try just to using one of them...probably due to how concentrated the stuff is....not sure in the long run if it will cause any adverse affects but just something to look out for
CG420za
Thanks for pointing that out @cheese420. I'll definitely look into it, also, I'll only pH up if I go sub 5.

cheese420
Maybe the males were a blessing in disguise....can focus on the remaining ones and manage the height and your space with a bit more breathing room
CG420za
@Skolley, I already have some nice ones, I suppose it was the excitement I've been shopping over the months. I have northern light, peppermint kush, trainwreck, exodus haze and dr grinspoon. Indeed @cheese420! Yesterday I looked it and thought, shit, I have a problem... Ended up being a good thing. Check the roots on this thing!

CG420za
Sup guys, quick question. I'm in week 3 of flower, buds are forming nicely. After the stretch, do they still grow vertically or do they just pack on weight bud wise?
