West Coast Vaper
These are 10l pots.Planted the same time.Broad leaf plant under 60% shade cloth.Slim plant under full sun and hectic wind daily. Climate out here killing the 10l outdoors. They have been moved into the shade house. Sent from my SM-A032F using Tapatalk
West Coast Vaper
Put some SeaGro in the diet for the first time a few days back. I use this stuff round the nursery on a regular basis and the speed at which it works amazes me every time. Two days of serious wind, hail, torrential rain and did l mention the wind.I'm half confident the tyre garden should survive our summer winds on the reservation. Bought the last batch of soil for photoperiods this season. Will update on number of survivor's from the 118 seeds sprouted from seedling soil test soon.Autoflowers I'll admit I'm not happy. Caterpillars literally took out my xmas smoke. Culled about 4 and early harvested 2 plants.Anastasia 99 not enjoying being under 60% shade cloth. Waiting to see how next batch do outdoors now that fucking caterpillar season is over.Sent from my SM-A032F using Tapatalk

West Coast Vaper
From my MOMENT of MADNESS popping 128 seeds into a tray of local seedling soil I was testing things are still on the up side.118 seeds germinated and were put into 3l & 5l pots then into list below with a local potting soil I am also testing. R25/40l.A bit of molasses here and a bit of SeaGro there and all good so far.Tyre Garden I have:5 x 80l plus soil. Photoperiods. 12 x 20l soil. Photoperiods. 4 x autoflower. Shade House:6 x 100l soil. Photoperiods. 8 x 20l soil. Photoperiods. 40 x 10l soil. 10l pots are not handling well outdoors. Photoperiods. 6 x autoflower. I have kept 71 plants from the 118. Gave a few away and the rest became worm food.Sent from my SM-A032F using Tapatalk
West Coast Vaper
Every year I think outdoor growing on the reservation will be easier. 1st year I grew where I thought it would be reasonably sheltered. Plants did not live 2 or 3 months. Climate nailed them. 2nd year I grew in our garden which is more sheltered. Pretty much the same story.3rd year nothing outdoors. This season I put up wind breaks and things were looking good. Until a few days ago. Thinking about moving above ground pots into the shade house and waiting to see what happens with buried pots and tyres.I am watering outdoors 3 times a day.1st pic is what the plants look like come 6pm water time.Other pics plant in shade house 12 hours later.Sent from my SM-A032F using Tapatalk
West Coast Vaper
Side and top view of a few tall ones I need to keep on the low.Last season I ended up with 2m plants in 20l pots. 60% shade cloth tends to make the ladies stretch. I really don't miss that place, damn it's hot and droeg When winter comes around again you should really invest in a cover crop like buckweed, alfalfa, white clover or red clover. It will just keep improving the soil and help it to hold more and more moisture. You will need about 5kg of seeds per hectare and pick a rainy week to seed as much as you can. You could get that soil dark and alive in a year or two. Btw i would kill for a tunnel like that.

GreenGalaxyFarm
why worm bin, are they males? On 1/3/2023 at 11:00 AM, West Coast Vaper said: Today's selection for the worm bin. Sent from my SM-A032F using Tapatalk
West Coast Vaper
why worm bin, are they males? Yep. Males.Started with 118 plants in 3l & 5l pots. Over a period of about 6 weeks the stragglers became worm food.I selected 70 for myself, donated a few (mainly to a pensioner starting to grow for his wife's medical purposes). I've set aside a few of my plants for him just in case he doesn't succeed. Standing at 57 plants ranging from 10l - 100l at the moment.I'm worm composting instead of using an actual worm bin.Sent from my SM-A032F using Tapatalk

West Coast Vaper
whole lot of wateringI spend about 3 hours a day on the plants.Quick watering takes about an hour. A decent watering about hour and forty five.Plants also get bug checked 2 - 3 times a day.Sent from my SM-A032F using Tapatalk
West Coast Vaper
All still looking promising on the reservation. Spotted millie bug on 1 of the shade house plants. Been hand picking bugs and removing leaves with any sign of pests up till now.Sprayed some Neudosan for the first time today.15 plants left in the tyre garden since male culling started.Sent from my SM-A032F using Tapatalk
West Coast Vaper
It's been hot on the reservation. I watered at 6am and missed the midday watering. Braai day .7pm watering, the plants are thirsty. These plants are under 60% shade cloth.Dreading February. Bos
Eishhh, mostly why I've been moving away from the smaller volume pots and bags. The north coast heat and wind just makes it impossible, they just dry out too fast.
