Toby
Hi Guys, I thought Ill share this with you guys. There is a great initiative from the City of Cape Town. They distributing composting units free of charge. All units have been snatched up within 2 days. 5000 allocation. There will be another roll out in June 2016. Watch the press and their website for more info. I received my unit yesterday. yay
Sacred Seeds
I saw it in a local newspaper. Pity I'm not a homeowner any more. If you have a place to put it that's far away from any outdoor grows then its ok because you give City Of Cape Town permission to come onto your premises to inspect the unit. 420SA
Good initiative! How exactly do these bins work? Like bokashi? Wouldn't hurt to chuck a couple earthworms in there to speed up the process?
Toby
The bins are open at the bottom. Its composting bin. Add you organic matter, carbon & nitrogen and some minerals to get a good balanced compost. The more you stir the quicker the composting happens. Personally I wont add the worms as you might hurt them in the stirring process. I would use the newly created compost and process it further in the worm farm.
