I honestly think I am just lucky when it comes to the strains/genetics. I got the ZxP from a pack of 3 seeds of which only 1 grew, so there was zero pheno hunting. I have grown it now for more than two solid years. I just kept cloning before switching to flower to preserve the strain. Now with the new genetics I try keep an original mother plant that I bonsai and take clones from. I'll pop the seeds, clone before flowering, keep the clones until I've cured the buds and then do the final selection. Reason I am asking is cause I've seen guys doing their first run with some biltong and buds seeds and hit a winner right off the bat, but I've been through quite a number of these cheaper seeds only to end up with pure It certainly is all about the luck of the draw, but the chances of luck goes way up when selecting the right breeders too. BnB had a special on them and I was interested in the Zkittlez part of the ZxP. The ZxP was so great I tried more of their stuff. I'm excited to see what you gona do there's a lot of hype around the local breeders, I see a lot of their stuff on instagram and it looks like some local guys giving the US breeders a run for their money! Some names I see - Nocturnal Genetics, Headhoncho, Black Flag, Senpai and then we all know Totemic, and there's a whole bunch more. Ill_Evan Posted July 25, 2023 Author Share Posted July 25, 2023 ZxP harvest done and dusted. Yield was a bit low but way, way better than the beginning of the year. From 160g to 500g, more than double, but not quite the target goal of 800g. I do believe the cold played a major part. I attempted this year to skip any additional heating to save on costs and to also experiment with the possibilities. The result is roughly a 33% decrease in yield. Needless to say I think I will be adding additional heating again to the room next winter. Either will run the AC or use heating panels. Will need to do the math first. Ill_Evan Posted July 29, 2023 Author Share Posted July 29, 2023 The current state of events. Big Tent Big tent has been reset from the last harvest. I've loaded her up with Radical Juice. That shit was so dangerous I definitely need to give it another round and in bulk Small Tent Doing something a little different here. I am growing ZxP but instead of the usual 4-way manifold I decided to play again with the 8-way manifold just to play around with space and canopy spread. I need to get in there and slap a net in soon. Just waiting for some more length on the branches. Organic Tent Here I am doing some Zombie Bride. I am honestly 50/50 on this one, I'm not sure whether I will keep the strain. The outcome of this grow will pretty much determine whether I keep it or not. I kept this particular strain for the aroma and terpenes. It smelt crazy desserty, so I am hoping for that experience again. I also plan on lollipoppin' the shit out of this one, no popcorn, cheers. Currently at 1100W when lights are on. I idle at about 110W with lights off. I have increased wattage to try shorten the internodal spacing. Reservoir is on, I should switch on the air supply as well. What's crazy is I haven't had to LST yet, the plants have just naturally grown out in a nice spread. Thanks WeedGod! Zombie Bride - 25 Days Since Flip I'm not really getting what I want out of the Zombie Bride yet. In terms of veg growth it's stretchy and fadey. The future of this strain is yet to be determined. Not much of a yielder but it will impress the people. ZxP still pushing through. Day 43 since flip. Defoliated the Radical Juice tent. Looking nice and neat now, very full tent.
